  1. I finally did it this morning with Dr Molton in Perth. I needed work done in the crown area and he placed 1500 grafts there...He seem to do a good job but I do have 1 thing Im not happy with.

I arrived at 7.30 and the session finished at 3.00...as soon as he finished he left...obviously he had somewhere important to go too, There were also a few grafts left which he could off placed somewhere for me too. I am very upset about this as it indicates that he might off been rushing and finished prematurely... Do you know if the time period was enough...he probably spent 4 solid hours grafting.

The strip itself was taken out very quickly and sewn up..however the grafts themselves..some hurt, even though i had anaethetic.

Overall it was a painful yet exciting procedure Im waiting to see the results.

I will yet see the results before I rate the experience..but Dr Molton does seem to be a craftman in his work although he could brush up on his patients aftercare.

  3. Thanks for the advice Arfy....Im going to do the procedure in 3 days am excited.

After alot of research the procedure is called MFT Microscopic Follicular Tranplant which I guess is the procedure one should aim for. I didnt ask them however what type of microscope they use however believe it would only be the best equipment.

Do you know how many grafts I can expect from about 25cm - 30 cm strip? Also I read your link and it says a follicur graft is a bunch of hairs...when one talks about 1 graft does it mean one bunch of these hairs and now 1 hair !!! thanks.

ps. I really have a phobia about losing hair from my crown so I feel this is a big priorty for me...if I need work done on the front hopefully I will not need so much.

  4. Hi all,

Finally Im going to have work done by Dr Molton in Australia. A 30cm strip.

I have mainly the crown area balding a Norwood 4 class. Was wondering if anybody has had any similar experiences. I did a search on 'crown' however cannot find any similar posts. It seems most posts i can find are of frontal balding

    thanks

  6. Ive been using 5% Minoxidil once a day for 3 years now, I also take 1/4 proscar everyday.

While browsing another hair forum, a question was posed to a doctor which goes like

'I've been using monoxidil for several years, but I use it every other night. I've been on Propecia for almost two years. If I stop the monoxidil will the hair stopped by that drug fall out even though I will continue to take Propecia?'

The reply for the doctor was

Usings Minoxidil every other day, or even once day, probably doesn't do anything. I would just stop it and continue Propecia.

    Sincerely, Dr. Bernstein

Is this true. Or does Minoxidil help? In my experience I think it does help but it could be just trained thinking, any advice?
