  1. Hey guys,

was just wondering if others had experienced the same thing I am right now. Had my midscalp to part of my crown done in late June, just been over 4 months and have seen excellent growth so far in the midscalp area. Towards the back where I had my HT though where the crown starts I am getting a lot of ingrown hairs and the hair has not really taken off yet. There is quite a few hairs I feel are at stubble length but not growing yet as well back there. Was just curious as to others who had had this area as well as the midscalp area transplanted what their experience is with this? thanks!!

  3. I think the flash definately hurts you in these picks. Your ht hair looks like mine as of now(I will be 4 months post HT on the 23rd). People's hair grows at different rates, some people notice substantial growth by 3 months others don't see any growth till 4 or 5 months. At 6 months I think it is still early yet, it looks like a dense packing, so give it a couple more months. Some people's hair doesn't start kicking in good till later, but I think you can definately see a lot of new growth, it's just at the early stage where it is thin and wispy and not a big cosmetic improvement, these hairs will thicken over time along with more new growth. We all get worried, but give it another 2 months or so.

  4. I bought that maximizer and tried to use it on my crown area, didn't work so good. It shoots a burst of toppik but it didn't spread it out too well. Maybe I sprayed it too close but just left a big ol patch of toppik on my head. Tried to spray it from farther away but still didn't spread out the toppik very well. Dunno, maybe you need to shoot it on from the next room to spread it finely and evenly. I just like a fine amount so I use a regular sized bottle, put scotch tape over the holes and puncture the holes with a paperclip. It makes it so it comes out evenly but not a bunch at a time, only a small amount. That works the best for me icon_biggrin.gif

  5. Hey guys! Finally got up two new pics at 3 1/2 months post op with Dr. Alexander. First one is with my hair combed forward, well not really combed but you get the idea. My hair since my first ht over a year and 3 months ago is "settling down" and isn't as wirey and can be styled in any way now. It used to really only want to be combed back before about a month or so ago and now it just falls forward naturally. The second pic is an above one to show my growth in the midscalp area. It is still pretty thin but over the last couple of weeks is taking off(maybe the msm??) and when combed forward fans out nicely on my midscalp and looks pretty good. Still early so I look forward to more growth and for the hair to mature. The red circle highlights the small area I use toppik to cover the half dollar size bald spot I still have, but hope when the midscalp area matures and grows thicker and darker can comb it over this area. Opinions or questions always appreciated! Am once again extremely satisfied with my HT with Dr. Alexander and his dense packing and lateral slits make it so natural! I can't believe where I came from to where I am now when I look at my pre ht with Dr. Alexander pics!!

  6. E A G L E S......EAGLES!!!! T.O. better keep his head up out there or Dawkins might knock it off!! Wait, is this espn.com???lol. I think we all want more and more hair. My second HT is starting to come in nicely, slow....but nice. I know after it grows in I will still have a small bald spot in my crown and am already thinking if I can get some more to fill that in,lol. I need to wait awhile though because my elasicity is not so great at this point, so maybe in a couple of years, but my midscalp hair might be good enough to cover it once it grows in as well, soooo....will just wait and see.

  7. do an online consultation with Dr. Alexander and I'm sure you will see why he along with other coaliton docs are far superior than Dr. Mayar. Especially when it comes to the custom blades and the lateral slits, trust me these docs from the hair mills are far behind the coaltion docs when it comes to using the most up to date instruments and techniques!

I noticed in my last two HT's it took till about 3 month to get to where I was pre HT. As far as redness it all depends on the individual, I have very Irish skin and my redness stayed for about 6 months if not a little more. Didn't bother me though as the rest of my skin gets redish as well. at six weeks you have probably lost most of your transplanted hair and experienced some shock loss, this period till about 3 months or so is frequently on here called the ugly phase. You just have to stick it out, a lot of us have gone thru it recently, myself included. you are not alone in this situation so try the best to just hang in there for another month or so and things will start improving slowly.

  9. I have had two procedures with Dr. Alexander and am very pleased with my first procedure and am currently starting to see growth from number two. I would be cautious if you have thinning hair as shockloss will probably be an issue. If you can post some pics here there are many members on here who can give you some solid advice. You can do a search for Dr. Alexander on here as well and see some of his work besides me. He is a perfectionist who takes great pride in his work.
