Can I ask a question. Just curious why didn't you grow your hair out about an inch before your surgery? You could have helped cover your donor area much easier.

Concealers worked wonders for this purpose for me. But I waited until about 10 to 12 days post op. Dermatch and Fullmore helped me out big time. You may want to experiment with some.
Good luck,
Scott

I think the only way this could effect your HT is if your recipient area is down ... there .... lol
-
I had a HT about 10 months ago.
Growth was good. But since past 1.5 month, there has been shock hair loss.
50-100 hair fall out every day. If I comb, wash my hair, try to dry them..they jus keep on failling.
The rate at which they are falling it seems, I will be back to my original hair line in a couple of months.
@Kramer - any update? did the hair grow back? any solution?
I have started with Finastride and Vitamin tabs again.
Your hair fall is most likely due to stopping the fin, happened to me before but after getting back on it, my hair returned.Thankfully

Hi Scooter, how are you making out? Now that you are so far along, are you glad you did it?
Hi tercex,
I am very happy with my results. Starting at 4 months post op I have seen such a change. I can now style my hair the way I always wanted to. My confidence has skyrocketed. Getting compliments all the time now. I have absolutely no regrets. I owe it all to Dr.Arocha and his team , they are brilliant and really took care of me. So I am very happy I did it and would recommend a hair restoration with Dr.Arocha to anyone I know who wants to restore their hair !! I would do it again in a heartbeat , and I just might have 1 more in the future for the crown.
Take care and good luck to all of you

Only just spotted this thread - awesome improvement Scooter! You still using concealers?
Although cannot see your face, from the pics alone it looks like you've slashed 10 years off your visual age.....and I bet you feel a lot younger too!
Thanks Jimbo. I do feel younger and starting to get lots of compliments from my friends and family. In the pics, I do not use concealers and only use them on my crown as it still has some thinning but is also improving. Probably attack it on the next go around.

Every time I see a update, you look like a different guy. Of course I can't see your face. I think your just flaunting that front hair line now. LOL Looks great! Hope I can achieve something like that.
Thank s Squatch for the compliment. My results have definitely changed my appearance. My confidence level sure is on the rise. I seen your post from you recent surgery with Dr. Gabel, congratulations , work looks great. Excited to see your updates in about 3 to 4 months !! Good luck to you

@ko,
The post said why people dont do post all together.. so my point was when there was no interest shown then really you get disappointed and one point you naturally stop.
Yep , with me it has been lots of views barely any replies. After my 9 month update I had none. So I prolly quit wasting peoples, including my own time

Looks great, Scooter. Really thickening up now and getting longer. You are the second poster I have recently run across who had a procedure 5-10 years ago, yet there wasn't much evidence you had a procedure before your ht#2. Do you have any thoughts on why you did not retain many of your grafts/hairs from your 2007 procedure? I am just wondering if we should all be thinking about maintenance in a different way to ensure we retain our grafts and keep on growing.
Also I got off my fin and was losing more hair , so I got back on it and it's paying off for me now

Hadenough, thanks for your reply. When I had my HT in 2007, it was a very small amt of grafts for the area. I probably would have been better off with about 3500 forbthe area. Also this was before I knew much about this type of surgery so we wanted to be safe and start small and see if another procedure was something worth pursuing. I was happy enough using concealers until last year I decided I wanted to add more and with a top Doctor. That's when I found Dr.Arocha and couldn't be more pleased with my results.
Take care,
Scott

Yes and yes. For me I also got some pimples and boy did they hurt. They only lasted a few days. As for the grafts that never shed, its also normal that some grafts do NOT shed but rather start to grow. At 2 months , most of what you would have shed should already have done so. Hang in there another 2 months and then the magic begins.
Take care,
Scott

You'll be fine, just remember with toppik and any other concealer less is better.
By the way, congratulations on your recent surgery. It's nice to able to get a procedure done without a shaving the recipient area. You had a good number of grafts, looking forward to seeing your progress.
Take care,
Scott
