I went through a long search before deciding on Epstein. It is very likely you will get a higher yield from Hasson because they are more aggressive in the amount of tissue they remove, but hopefully Doctor Epstein gave you a decent graft estimate. He underestimated on me and I was happy he could get more than he said he could!!

I also spoke with Mike and he was a bit of a saleman type but I had spent so much time reviewing Hasson's results on the forums that I did not doubt what Mike was telling me.

Actually, Dr. Epstein does procedures in NYC as well as Miami. I had work done by him in Miami and I have nothing but good things to say about him. Thin scar, no shaving of recip, no pain and minimal swelling and a nice result.

So I would not classify him as a regional doctor at all, people fly in from all over to have procedures with him.

Does Dr. Shapiro require shaving the recipient area as well? Sutures or staples?

Martinet, what was the additional risk that your physician mentioned to you. was it a general risk associated with FUE that anyone else is at risk for?
