  1. Thanks Bill and Joe for your encouraging words and advice. Yes, as both of you mentioned, I will avoid sun exposure till at least 6 month mark. Who knows maybe even longer depends on my result at that point.... As a matter of fact, wearing a hat is not bothering me at all. Just curious to see for example if I could go out without a hat for a few minutes to get the mail from the mailbox or run to the store, etc. And I did get my answer. Thanks Bobman. I know patience plays a key role in situations like this. To be honest with you Bobman, if it wasn't because of your result along with Joe and Bill's from H&W, I wouldn't probably go to Hasson and Wong in Canada. I still eagerly follow your third HT progress and I am sure this one will be as great as the other two. And the scar will look even better with the Tri-closure. Also, believe it or not, I am enjoying this bald looking of mine these days as I know I will never look like this anymore in the next comming months. Kinda wierd enjoyment!! huh? Thanks. KamCal
  2. Thanks NN for your quick respond. You are right. I will avoid sun exposure for another few months maybe till all the transplanted hairs and the shocked ones have grown out. I don't want to take a risk at this point. Thanks. KamCal
  3. Thanks Fallenstar for the little trick to conceal the scar. Also, thanks Bill and Fallenstar for your comments on my weblog. I will definitely update this photo album and my weblog at the end of each month. Next week I will reach the 2-month mark, which I don't expect much visual difference from my 1st month photos. One question: Do I have to worry about the sunburn damaging the grafts at 7 weeks post-op? So far, I've been wearing a hat to avoid direct exposure to sun. But, Can I go without wearing a hat at this point? Thanks. Kam
  4. Thanks Bill for reassuring that my scar looks fine at 1.5 month post-op and is within the safe zone. However, I wish I did not have this nasty shock loss in the donor area. I hope I see some changes in the donor area within the next 2 months as I am approaching 4 months mark. Unfortunately I do not have that info about the hair breakdown. However, I remember Dr. Hasson mentioned something along these lines that about 25% of the grafts were 3's and the rest were 1's and 2's. So, I guess I did not have any 4's?? But, I am not sure. For the pattern of my HT, I asked it myself as I had lost more hair on that side of my head compare to the other side and I wanted to keep a balance. So far, Proscar is working great. I do hope I can keep the rest of my natural hair with it.
  5. Thanks josh-b: yes, I have been on Proscar since August and it seems working for me as I do not see any more hair falling out. I am excited about that. Thanks NN for your encouragement. Yes, Dr. Hasson also told me that I have coarse hair characteristic which would be to my benefit to create an illusion of fullness. Thanks wanthair for your honest comment. Do you think my scar goes out of the safe zone? About the hair count I am not really sure. However, I do remember that I did not have the laxity. I am thinking that might be the reason we were not able to get alot of individual hairs out of that many grafts. But I am not sure. The only thing that I am concerned is the thinning around the scar. But I think it should grow back in about 3-4 months post-op. So, I have to wait another 2 months as I am only 7 weeks post-op.
  6. 3664 Follicular units (5665 hairs) with Dr. Hasson on Oct. 5th, 2007.
  7. Thanks dhoose75 and Not So Bad. I just got 85 freaking staples out of my head!!! The staples didn't hurt that bad if there was no hair stuck with them; however, sometimes there were a few hairs stuck under the staples. Thoese HURT when you pull them out. No bleeding at all. I took a long shower(about 45 min), however, before removing them. Now it's all over. 3664 grafts with Dr. Hasson of H&W and a long waiting time to see the result. I will keep you guys posted.
  8. Thanks ng2gb. I am going to have my local doctor remove the staples. No one knows the answer to my concern? I mean how is the shedding after the HT. Just the hair or hair with its root or hair papilla? If you lose the root or hair Papilla, does that mean you lost the graft at day 7 post op? Thanks. Kam
  9. Hi guys, I am 10 days post up and tomorrow Monday is my staples removal day! What a release!! I have a quick question: On day 7 post up, when I was working on my scabs in the shower using my fingertips (with shampoo) and not my nails, I noticed 2 transplanted hair shafts with their roots (I don't know how to describe them but they are dark spots like a dot at the end of each hair) falling off with my scabs. (No bleeding thought) Did I just lose 2 hair follicles? I know hair shafts are supposed to shed and it's normal to see them with the scabs, but since they came off with the root (black thick dot spot the end of the hair), it worries me that I might have lost another 2 grafts!! What do you guys think?

  11. Thanks Mrjb, Bill, and its752 for your response and support in my post op. Thanks its753 for clearing up your response. That makes me feel much better now!! Today is day 4 post up and I am swelling like hell, especially around my left eyes. It looks like someone has punched me in the eye!!! I am hoping this would go away by day 6 as I was told by Dr. Hasson.
  12. Thanks Bill for your encouragement. I am day 3 post up and I experience some itching in both the receipient and donor area. Is this itching normal? I am not touching my scalp, it's just bothering me....
  13. Yes, I have not taken a shower yet. But I will use a pitcher to pour water over my grafts. How about my donor area? Should I rub my donor area with my finger a little bit? Has anybody else experienced bumping your head after the surgery? Did it significantly affect your results?
  14. Thanks SlowlyThinning@59. You made me feel much better that I am not the first person doing this. I bumped it the day after surgery (second day). Right now I have blood clog on my scalp. What should I do with them? Can I clean them? Today is day 3 post up and I am supposed to shampoo my hair today.
  15. Hi Guys, I just had a strip surgery with Dr. Hasson 3 days ago. Unfortunately I bump my head on my way back home in the the airport shuttle bus. It started bleeding from 2 points but stopped in a few minutes. What will happen if you bump your head. I hope I did not damage to the grafts badly. Any input would be appreciated.

  17. Thanks everyone for your great encouragement and responses. Did anyone get my last question? My question is that the day after the surgery does my condition let me go out and do some sightseeing and enjoy the city of Vancouver or the condition after the surgery doesn't let me get out of the hotel room. (due topain and appearance, etc.) In that case I would rather fly back home and not pay extra for hotel. I am trying to book my flight and hesitating if I should come back the day after the surgery or I can stay there and explore the city and come back the following day. Thanks. KamCal
  18. Thanks Bill and its752. I feel great to hear from all of you that I am making the right decision to go to Vancouver for my HT. From your past experience with Hair Transplant Surgery, what is the paitent's condition the day after the surgery. I have a surgery on Friday Oct. 5th, however I would like to explore the city as well. Do you guys think I can do that on Saturday or the condition after the surgery doesn't let me? I am trying to book my flight and wondering if I should return on Saturday or can stay there an extra day and return on Sunday. However, I don't want to just pay extra day and have to stay in the hotel room. Does the condition after surgery let me go out and have fun or I have to stay in with a lot of pain? Can you please share your experience so I can make a decision on my return date. Thanks. KamCal
  19. Thanks Bill for your encouraging words. I really need them at this time. Dr. Hasson estimated 4000-4500 grafts as well. I have no concern about the fontal zone. But my biggest concern is that should I touch the crown? I am worried about the possible shock loss in that area. Or is it safe to add some density to the crown also and move in between the hairs? I have no doubt that Dr. Hasson is a very skillful Doctor. But still I am concerned. Do you think Finastride will take care of the crown and thicken the thinning hairs in the crown or do I still need HT to add density? Thanks. KamCal
  20. Thanks Bill and TheEmperor for your respond. It's really great to get such motivation by such wonderful, knowledgable people here. Hey Bill, thanks for your respond. It makes me more determined in my decision. Hey based on my picture, how many grafts do you guys think will address my needs?
  21. Hello Everyone. After a thorough research on hair transplant (Many thanks to this website), I have decided to go with Dr. Hasson. I just turned 30 and have not done any hair transplant surgery before (virgin scalp). This will be the first one. I have booked my surgery on Friday Oct 5th, 2007 and will fly from CA to Vancouver. I have three questions (concerns) and any feedback would be greatly appreciated. 1- Since Oct. 5th is a Friday and the Clinic is closed on Saturday, I cannot go for the next day follow up and washing. Is this gonna be a problem on the final result or doing the surgery on Friday is OK too? I have to fly back on Saturday. 2- I have only talked to Joe and not to Dr. Hasson. I have consulted via their website and not in person. What do you guys think. Should I go and meet with Dr. Hasson before the surgery or should I trust and just show up on the day before the surgery. I plan to meet him for 30 min the day before the surgery. I know he is the best and that was the reason I decided not to meet with him in person before the surgery. Am I making the right decision? 3- I just started taking Finestride 1.25mg a week ago. Does this gonna have any effect on the surgery? I mean should I first wait a few months and see what this medication does for me or should I just get the job done while on medication. I take this medication mainly for my crown. I have lost my frontal zone but trying to hang on to my crown hair as I am slowly losing them as well. Thanks in advance.
