  1. I am just curious as to what is normal for losing hair. For example, I started on Propecia and Rogaine in March of this year. I had a hair transplant in April. I am (was) a class 3 to early 4 on the norwood scale, so I have quite a bit of hair with the exception of the front. I had experienced some recession in my "corners" up front along with a bit over the middle top. It was the start of the horshoe patterno look. Finally...to my actual question itself. My understanding is that it is normal for a human to lose a 100 hairs or so a day. When I shower at night, I notice some hair, maybe 10 or so up to 20 maximum. I guess I am just curious to see what is normal to really try and understand whether or not I will benefit from Propecia and Rogaine. I understand Rogaine is only beneficial on the crown, and I don't necessarily need it...just using it for prevention. I would probably be able to gauge what is normal more accurately, but I immediately went to hair club for men as soon as my corners started receding, which was about three years ago or so. I just took "the rug" off about three weeks ago, and when the addition of toppik on the front, I think my hair actually looks pretty good. But since I had been wearing "the rug" for so long, I just am not sure what I should expect for hair loss to see if I am benefiting from Propecia or Rogaine. Therefore, understanding hair loss differs for everyone, I would like to receive some feedback if possible from a doctor, or from soneone who has truly benefited from the use of Propecia and/or Rogaine. Thank you for your consideration.
  2. I had 1400 grafts done in APril, and I thought he did a terrific job. I am a class 3, so I may go back for density work in the fall, but I have been very satisfied with my results so far. I have had a fair amount of growth in three months actually and more hair sprouts up seemingly every day. Plus, he is a very courteous individual with a great staff. I would definitely recommend him. Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!
  3. I just received mine, and I will start on it tomorrow. I had a hair transplant of 1400 grafts sometime ago, and I am a class 3. I am pleased with my results so far (3.5 months post op), and I do take propecia for prevention. From what I have heard on read on this product, I simply thought I would give it a try. With an eight month supply of $195, I thought...it can't hurt! If you would like, I will certainly post an update to you in the next month or so to let you know my thoughts based on my experience. Thanks!
  4. Sorry, as I am very positive on this forum, and I don't want to offend the doctor that did Nic Cage if he monitors this website as well, but I think his hair transplant would not be classified as a good one at all. I have actually seen him up close in the Bay Area boogeying around with his lovely lady of the moment Lisa Marie, and I thought his hair up close looked very funky (worse than it already does on tv) A girl that is a close friend of mine was like "what the hell is on his head?!" Again, sorry to be negative, but compared to the photos I see on this website as well as the tremendous job Pat's surgeon Shapiro has done, and compared to the work I have seen and had done by my surgeon Dr. Roy Jones of NHI, I think Mr. Cage needs to have something done to his hairline to make it look natural...just my thoughts..
  5. I feel for your situation with alopecia, but if I was you, I would just shave your head and deal with your situation as best as possible. I am 28, and I have lost just a little hair, that I was fortunate enough to have a transplant and take care of for good. I can only imagine your depression that would result due to your age as our image means more to us that we all like to admit. However, in consideration of your situation and the scarring that transplantation will leave on the back of your head, I think just going with the shaved look will look more natural. Even though I had just lost a little hair, I was going to go that route, but my head is literally like a partially deflated basketball, and that look just would not have been the best for me:) In your situation though, I think you may be happiest if you just shave it and deal with it. At your age, it will actually look cool! Again, I hope you keep your head up high and maintain your confidence as you struggle with your situation.
  6. Just curious as to what is this "FNS" you say have been using along with propecia? Thanks!
  7. Can you buy Proscar on line with a propecia prescription? Even propecia at this canandianstore.com is much cheaper with shipping costs included for propecia, but I was wondering if I could become more cost efficient by ppurchasing proscar instead. Thanks
  8. I just had 1400 grafts done with Dr. Roy Jones of NHI (New Hair Institute). Great guy, and he did a great job. I am two weeks post op, and I am feeling great. You should do some research on Dr. Jones. There are some good surgeons out there, and in my opinion, he is one of the better ones.
  9. I actually had a hair transplant with Dr. Roy Jones of New Hair Institute yesterday. It was a great experience, and I am very thankful I made the decision to utilize his expertise. He has an incredible staff that was very friendly and caring as well. From what I see I am very excited to see the growth I will get in a couple of months with anticipation of maybe one more smaller session (yesterday 1500, and I will be done. If I lived in the New York area versus Bay Area, I would be looking up Dr. Bernstein for sure. Go to www.newhair.com and you can find out more. From what I have heard and seen though, he is a tremendously talented surgeon.
  10. Has anyone heard anything about this product called Kevis? It's a shampoo that is supposed to be great hair treatment. To me it seems like a bunch of fluff, but I was curious to see if anyone uses it. THanks.

  12. Arfy, thanks for the reply. I did not mean to be too stubborn, but I am anxious to have this done so I get a bit rambunctious. I appreciate very much the feedback, and I will be seeing as many clients of Dr. Jones as possible. Again, thank you for your input.
  13. I am moving around forum discussions to see if I can find anyone who has had work done with Dr. Roy Jones of NHI. I have done my research, and I am looking forward to a procedure, but I would like to hear from others who may have had an experience with him. Please respond! Thanks!
  14. Has anyone used Dr. ROy jones for a transplant? If so, could you post some pictures? I have checked out NHI website, etc., but I would like to hear more about Dr. ROy Jones from someone who may have had an experience with him. Thanks!
  15. I am 27 and considering transplants. has anyone had an experience with Dr. ROy Jones here on the West Coast? Your input would be appreciated. Thanks.
