After much consideration and watching so many people's lives change I decided to go ahead with a hair transplant. The journey however was staggered by me resisting hair transplant, taking time to choose a right hair transplant surgeon and going back and forth whether hair is important enough for my life. Now after 9 months after hair transplant I can say the whole process was totally worth it. I also understood by going through pages and pages of this forum that many people do not get good results here. I may have reasons why they don't and also why I got good results. I did make a special notes of what to see in hair transplant surgeons.
So here is my journey of hair transplant.
I had Grade 6 baldness (i don't understand as to me all look same after people called me bald). All I can say it was pretty bad. Since initially I was resisting idea of a hair transplant I went circles about choosing one. I wanted one that was done by independent hair transplant surgeons and not some faceless travelling surgeons working for corporates. My friend has gotten one from such a centre and he regrets the decision very much. I went to about many hair transplant centres. Most of them had me talking to sales guy or some guy responsible for convincing me to get it done from them as they are having discounts and etc. It was kind of embarassing as I knew more about hair transplant than those guys. The last one was with Dr. Tushar Kshirsagar (Nuleaf Skin Clinic and Hair Transplant Centre, Pune, India). That lasted for about 45 mins and I got to know way more than I ever could from Google only. I was convinced about a hair transplant.
I was still a little hesitant for surgery. So I requested Dr. Tushar for trying scalp Micropigmentation first as I would like to go for a shaved head look. (I know..). SMP was really not that big deal but also not something which I wanted. In about 2 months post SMP, I contacted Dr. Tushar again and booked for my hair transplant.
Hair transplant was as follows
2.5 days (total of 4356 grafts)
Scalp donor was 3825 grafts
Beard donor was 531 grafts ( I barely have beard)
Implantation was done by SAVA Implanters by doctor and his team.
It was surprisingly not that painful. Also doc was using some kind of vibration and cooling for those initial pricks of numbing. It was really nothing. I would grade pain 2 or 3 out of 10. I tried dozing off especially during the implantation as it was long. After the procedure was done, that evening I did have swelling over forehead and some pain. A simple painkiller (here it is combination of paracetamol and ibuprofen) was sufficient to reduce the pain. Pain never became an issue after that. I had to take the dressing off my self at home. Doc had given a list of things to follow with the dates of the same. Also I was to share scalp photos of donor and planted areas over their official WhatsApp number. On 7th or 8th days I was advised on how to remove these scabs of planted grafts. That was not very hard. I was a bit apprehensive about grafts coming out. But Dr. Tushar had explained that grafts can't come off after 8 days. I did witness some hair coming off. As a part of shedding stage they do come off early too.
Shedding phase for me lasted less that others as I started noticing hairline as soon as 2.5 months post hair transplant. At 6.5 months already it was looking awesome 😎. And 8 to 9 months it was simply stunning. Very happy that I chose Dr. Tushar at Nuleaf Skin Clinic and Hair Transplant Centre.
Maintenance : I am using finasteride and minoxidil. I ll stop these sometime in future. Finasteride for sure, minoxidil, may be.

Ps: i also think doing SMP before a hair transplant actually helped in over all look. I know it was not planned like that, but worth mentioning.
