I looked at Nashville, New York, Memphis, Thailand, Turkey, Arkansas, California, and Florida clinics for over a year. And each one of them all had the same pitch. "You are the perfect candidate. Blah, blah, blah..."
First, the assumptions of others online are childish and come off as relatively bullish. You know nothing of my research into my decision and are guessing I went merely based on cost. I made my career by 'creating the value' in my Inn and Restaurants for over 20 years. Most Inns and B&Bs offer a wonderful complimentary breakfast buffet that differentiates them from hotel chains. Here's what I did. I had a made-to-order breakfast from 6 am to 9 am, took the room rate of my largest competitor, whether an Inn or a major hotel and set it at 'their average' last year's room rate. As a chef, I decided to offer a submissive menu each night for dinner, extra of course, and guests could eat in or go out. Guess what happened? I put two Inns out of business and created a catering company, and one major hotel lost its franchise because its market share dropped. They no longer wanted that franchise fee and went to a lower hotel chain. In that time, I maintained 5 stars on TripAdvisor with over 500 reviews, for over 18 years. I built it from the ground up, literally. From construction to handing over the keys to the new owners, which I owner financed, it was my 'baby.' I raised my room rate once in 20 years, and it was always the least expensive option, AND I offered the greatest value. 'Word of mouth' made and kept me on top all that time.
My decision to go with American Mane was based on their strategy, business model, and medical reputation. As someone with an extreme allergy, their clinic was in a hospital, and that put me at ease for sure.
The hair restoration market is relatively young, and business models are basically all the same: $/graft is the standard; however, other options are on the horizon.
I would rather people evaluate my photos and not assume that I made a choice based solely on price.
