  1. Thank you so much for your response. This makes a lot of sense on what you are saying - I’m feeling a little bit lost after doing months of research and in a bit of analysis paralysis. Who do you recommend for fue? I’m willing to travel to get the best result. Cost is not an issue. @gillenator
  2. Hi all, @Melvin- Admin @gillenator @BurnieBurns @DerekWhite This thank you so much for all of your inputs. Since your recs, I have I have looked at the number of doctors across the world. I think I would like to go ahead and book with Dr. Gabel vs Nadimi vs. Laorwong What would you guys recommend as a better fit for me? The price is about the same for both US surgeons. Flat 22,500 for Gabel (estimate 2000-2400 grafts) and Nadimi 2000 grafts for 20,000 + $5 after that. -Laorang seems to be a fraction of the cost at $2.2 dollars graft and thinks he can get 3500 grafts based on pictures. He also also a lot more recent long term patient reviews from what I can see. I reached out to Dr. Laorwong and he responded quickly with a detailed message with frequently ask questions. I asked to set up a time to do a consultation but he asked me just to email him with questions which turned me off. I e-mailed back a second time just now requesting a consult. I am a bit concerned with lack of patient/consumer protection going to a foreign country. He also splits the extractions with his assistant and does about 10-50% of the graft placements, so seems like he is less involved than Gabel/Nadimi. -Gabel's online reputation appears to be slightly superior to Nadimi and he is more experienced by years of doing this, but I do not see as many long term results from him with photos. Nadimi does appear to have slightly more long term follow up patient reviews -Of the FUEs I have also seen from Gabel, it seems like he is conservative with the extraction count with getting under 2000 on many transplants, even on his web page. He told me he thinks he can get to 2200-2400 with me based on pictures I have sent him. The results I have seen online also look good, but did not seem to be as dramatic as some of the other pictures that I have seen posted from outside of the US, including Laorwong -Nadimi does do some of her time doing other non-hair surgeries. Others I have reached out to but likely not going to go with. I looked into some of the doctors in Turkey (Dr. Bicer seemed like the price was not that far off US prices like around 13k, Dr Gur seems like the technician does most of the work) Dr. Mohebi seemed good but not as well-known as Gable and slightly more expensive at $12 graft Spoke with the rep from Hasson and Wong but seems like their technicians do a lot of the work Spoke with rep from Shapiro and it seems like he does not do the FUE but subcontracts the extractions out to Josphitis. I was not able to schedule consult with Drs. Nader (no response to 10+ emails), zarev had a 2 year wait list.
  3. do you have any updates? I am considering booking with gabel but haven't seen a lot of 6-12 month f/u
  4. Also considering Gabel and wondering about update
  5. Any updates on progress? I'm considering Dr. Gabel
  6. Interested in your progress, thanks! Considering Dr. Nader but having trouble getting a hold of him.
  7. I'm also looking into Dr. Custodio and having hair transplant with him - let me know what you find.
  8. Any other patients with who have had it with Espinosa Custodio? Considering having it done with him in Mexico.
  9. Thanks you for your input. @Melvin- Admin @gillenator @BurnieBurns @DerekWhite Do you guys have any experience with Dr. Marc Dauer in Los Angeles? He seems more reasonably priced (1800-2000 grafts for 17k). I'm also open to travel and go to Mexico or other places if needed if substantially cheaper and good quality - anyone in specific recommended? I see Dr. Espinosa Custudio from Mexico City listed on the site, but don't see any patient reviews on him. I met with Dr. Mohebi and seems pricey ($12 a graft) and spoke with Dr. Carman's office, but they don't do FUE cases that require more than 500 grafts and are recommending FUT.
  10. Any other thoughts on the price of $12 per graft with Dr. Mohebi? I'd prefer not to travel outside of LA for convenience with work and kids. @gillenator @Melvin- Admin
  11. Hi all - what is a fair price for a top surgeon? I am being quoted $12 a graft with Dr. Mohebi and wondering if that is fair.
  12. Thanks so much following up. I was about to book with Ziering before you guys messaged me. I have a consult with dr Mohebi scheduled for January 2024. I’m also trying to xyon topical finasteride based on recs from here. get sexual and urinary side effects if I take it daily but tolerable if I take it every other day. Any tricks on how to take the full dose and minimize the side effects. Also on minoxidil 10 mg orally.
  13. Do you guys mind elaborating why you would not recommend him? He is the name that keeps getting recommended to us - 2 dermatologists and friends of friends of all recommended him.
  14. Hi all I am 39 years old and have significant hair loss. I was told that I have significant thinning on my side donors. I have been told to consider FUT bc of the thinning in the side donor areas. I am only able to tolerate a 0.5 ml of topical finasteride 0.25% a day with 10 mg of oral minoxidil. Going to try xyon next. I'm mostly worried about the front portion and worried that the procedure will not work long term and that I would have to shave the head and be left with a scar. I have been recommended to go to Dr. Ziering himself from 2 dermatologists and friends of friends. Cost is around $7 a graft. What are peoples thoughts on Dr. Ziering (not his clinic but his work himself)? Do you think I will have a good result? Hi all
