By the way, I’m not sure if it is a valid argument, but I bet you look pretty natural in person, and given that in 5-10 years your natural hair will obviously become thinner, you might prefer your transplanted hair to stay like it is now

Still want the hairline to be denser 😂

    @Youth_Again I love your name 😎

You look amazing! I was just checking your pre-op photos and wow, what I transformation, young again for sure.

Also, bear in mind that Dr Couto just used 2600 for all that frontal area plus temples, and trying to replicate your density with that well, there is very few that could achieve that and Couto is one of them. Most doctors/clinics would need 3500-4000 for this same hair transplant.

Also, keep in mind that your hair-skin contrast is for sure affecting how the photos appear, especially with the flash so close. I bet it looks much better in person!

For example, this photo at 5 months without the flash is a great example of how photos can be deceiving sometimes and often don’t show the true situation. Here you look incredible!!! And it was just 5 months 😀

What are your family and friends saying about your new look? It must be hard for them not to notice the amazing change!

Keep those updates coming, can not wait to see the final result!

    I appreciate your message.

Most people can't tell I did a transplant and maybe you are right, the lighting in the bathroom straight on the hairline is not helping.

I may take pictures with a different lighting and see how it looks.

I still would want the hairline to be denser but let's wait a bit more before deciding anything

I will advice you to wait for at-least 12 months and then go for second pass. I think you might need more than 200 Grafts to address this issue.

You can opt for no shave procedure for your second pass as it will be a small procedure.

Tbh I don’t think I care if I shave or not, regrowth wouldn’t even be that bad

I can understand your disappointment but you still have four months left. I hope your see some improvement, but anyways a  small touch up will do wonders

What is Dr. Couto plan to address this?

I agree with you, his plan is to assess again at month 10 and plan a touch up based on the 10 month result.
he way talking about 200 grafts, but I would think more 400-600 but will see 🤷🏻‍♂️

For me personally the angles look a bit too steep and a lot of the micro design is very "symmetrical" in my opinion.

If they had so few softer singles, why did they portray the Tempels so aggressively?

If there are almost no soft singles, it is of course more difficult for the naturalness of the hairline. There are no soft singles on the neck and sides?

I guess not, I don’t have much hair on my neck, and looks like I have lots of double or multiples in my donor 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Hey Youth_again,

I think it is getting thicker, but you can still see through the hairline which I would not rest on, since you still have 5 months it will get better but I don’t think it will be as full as you probably expected a couto result would be, but I recon like another 3-400 grafts will do the job. Have you asked if he would do unshaven this time, because he told me if I do ever need a small top up to perfect the result he would do unshaven to ensure I don’t have to go through the process from start to finish all over again

Haven’t really talked about the details yet but hopefully I wouldn’t have to shave

I am very Happy with my current result. I do feel tho a little lack of density specially around my right temple and middle scalp, but for month 7 (actually more like month 6 and 25 days) looks what It should look like.

Couto told me that at month 12 he will do a small touch up on the right temple, but that It Will be sooo small that he wont even need to shave my hair. Also in my donnor because of my small tumor surgery there is now a little bald spot that he told me that he will cover as well. Im not concerned..! I didnt even expect I would need a touch up but now I will prepare myself for it. Its fine. My only concern would be about my agenda for when the time comes but lets see 😊

Looking at your results right now, I feel like I will definitely need a touch up 🥲🥲🥲

    Hey!

I understand you very well. Believe I do. I am now at month 6 and 10 days with Couto as well and I see still quite a medium density. The thing is that I have seen many cases of Couto and I think that the fact that he uses low amount of grafts for big areas makes us the patients to look like its going slow. But It goes well at the end. I think that for 7 months you are looking exactly how you should look.

I would be patient and if at month 10 as he said to you you dont feel covered, then book the touch up. But I dont find It will be necessary.

Appreciate your comment, I know it requires a lot of patience, end results is still 5 months away. But I think we expect quick results since we went to one of the best doctors 😂

i will keep providing monthly updates and monitor growth. Hopefully won’t need a touch up but I am mentally prepared to do it if necessary

Just curious, does it sit normally otherwise? Like if you wanted to wear it down in a fringe it'd do that? Just know a few people who've had HTs and reckon the transplanted hair always has kinda a wave or kink in it, so they basically have to wear it up

I can wear them down like a French crop or fringe no problem. Density looks excellent

doctor told me to brush my hair twice a day to fix that wavy kink look and train them. I apparently missed that 😅

Hey Youth_Again, Dr couto made similar comments regarding me, not many soft hairs for the hairline, so he had to go lower into the donor, just wondering if you have spoken to anyone at the clinic yet, and if so, what they have advised?

    He called me this morning.

he wants me to provide more pictures when hair are wet and combed back. Also he said that it is too early to say, need to wait until month 10 before any conclusion.

he mentioned very high contrast between my hair color and skin color. And mentioned that worst case scenario I may need a touch up of 200-300 grafts.
also mentioned that I had a lot of quadruple that sometimes take time to mature.

    patience will tell…

I think it looks pretty good…. Maybe a tad “pluggy”…? But you’re still only 7 months. Could it be the lack of singles? I know you were worried about that early on. You’ve dark hair and pale skin, too. More difficult to get soft results, from what I understand… 🤷🏻‍♂️

I believe a problem I had is that my donor didn’t have many single soft hair…

he mentioned most my donor was thick double to multiple follicules. Maybe it does impact on the hairline? Might not allow dense packing?

let’s wait 5 more months and see but if it stays the same I definitely would want a touch up

You'll need a second pass to achieve your desired density. 2,600 grafts for that area was never going to visually match your native density in the area behind your newly established hairline.

That’s some bad news… I voiced my concerns to Dr.Couto. Let’s see what he answers

I don't know if it's just the lighting, but the density in the 5 month pics already looks incredibly strong, and growth is definitely still on its way. Can you see the disconnect between transplanted and native hairs yourself?

I can see a disconnect. My native hair are just so much thicker and denser.
I feel like the transplanted hair are starting to blend in slowly tho.
    will keep waiting and see..

i will be uploading pictures tomorrow

Could you please show us some photos with high quality / flash / zoom in.

Zoomed out photos are never a good sign. Your design looks fantastic, but If you’ll let us see better photos we could share our honest opinions

I will cut my hair shorter on the top and take some zoomed pictures for the 6 months update.

I'm not an expert on transplants, and it could be part of the "illusion" talked about in the forum, because it's really difficult to cover such an area with 2600 grafts.
I'm writing because I'm also before a hair transplant and I'm interested in how it should look. I didn't get to see a hair transplant from a premium clinic, only Turkey...

I guess the fact that I have longer hair behind the transplanted hair doesn’t help first of all.
also most hair are multiple and I feel like some still need to thicken and grow.
I still need to wait more before giving a final judgement.

I don't know why but in my opinion the density is insufficient.

the angles themselves are not the most flattering,

sorry I don't praise like everyone else but the goal here is to talk about everything openly, right?

I’m not super satisfied with the density yet. I still have more than 6 months to go still tho, will see
