  1. FUE exists for 20 years now. Some of the doctors you mentioned were still in school back then. Feriduni for example was one of the first surgeons practicing FUE. It seems you are just a patriot who doesn't like to hear that surgeons from other countries are better...
  2. HLC is a medium priced clinic with high doctor involvement. There are good clinics / surgeons in Turkey, but the best surgeons in the world are located mainly in Belgium, Spain and the USA.
  3. The 5 / 10 years were just an example. Fact is that oral minoxidil used for hypertony has severe side effects. Also fact is that side effects in some individuals already occur at dosages of 0.25mg per day.
  4. Yes, it is. But it is still a difference. If you have the choice between dying in 5 years because of hypertony or in 10 years because of Loniten's side effects, Loniten benefits you. However no cardiologist would recommend you to take Loniten for a cosmetical issue like androgenetic alopecia. Loniten isn't really prescribed anymore today since we have much better alternatives with lower side effects.
  5. And he is completely right with that. Finasteride is an FDA approved treatment which might lower your libido or gives you ED. In the worst cases it can give you nipple pain and a mild gyno. But if you stop medication all of these side effects go away. Oral minoxidil can have severe side effects when used for hypertony (10 - 40mg). These severe side effects are not a joke.
  6. Get on medication first... My choice in your situation would be oral finasteride and topical minoxidil. I also would use ketoconazole shhampoo twice a week. Microneedling every 10 - 14 days might fasten up the first results. In 6 months you could see a good result and more than that in 6 month will we know more about Cosmerna and pyrilutimide. If you can stabilize a higher density on your mid scalp and in your crown area. This would be an acceptable situation for a hair transplant. Right now I wouldn't recommend you to do a hair transplant, especially not with a budget of $3,000.
  7. Hi there! I am a 30 y.o. male and noticed my first hair loss with 25. I took Finasteride for 1.5 years (from 28 to 29, 0.5 mg daily) and stopped after I tried 1.25 mg daily which caused nipple pain. I lost ~ 20 lbs of weight within the last six months to lower my estradiol and want to try a topical version of Finasteride / Dutasteride now. I'm off Finasteride for six months now and can't say if my hair loss started to progress since then. My family history is a bit tricky since I have a big family with everything from NW 2 - 7. My father (in his mid sixties right now) is a NW 3.5 with some diffuse thinning all over the head but no visible skin at the crown or somewhere else. My maternal grandfather was a NW 6/7. I don't know who I'm following in terms of hair loss. I am a NW 2.5 and lost a bit of density all over my head (not as much that you could see the skin). I did my research and also had an in person consultation with HLC last year. Dr. Öztan said I would need 2.200 grafts in total (1.700 to fill my temples and 500 grafts for the transition). I showed them a photo of when I was 17 and they said a surgery would bring me back to my 17 y.o. hairline. Dr. Öztan estimated my donor capacity (brown hair) at 7.000 grafts. HLC seems to be a good clinic but after the consultation they never contacted me again. Not even for the offer they wanted to send me. During the consultation they asked me why I thought a hair transplant would be necessary at this point and I could wait a few years. The lack of communication and the travel to Turkey (I live in central Europe) made me consider to check out other clinics. Now I have to decide between Bisanga, Feriduni and HLC. What would you do in my situation? Thanks in regard for your answers!
  8. I never doubted that The question is if it's worth the potential side effects which are shown in several studies for the oral use of Minoxidil for the treatment of hypertension, as well as for hair loss and gave Loniten the honor of a black box warning. If it wouldn't matter he hasn't had to mention this in the study under the point "conflict of interests". But beside this point the study also lacks of quality. A small sample size (50 people) and results in terms of efficacy which are not significant... I will keep an eye on oral Minoxidil but so far I'm not convinced because of the potential side effects.
  9. It's not only about the quantity, but much more about the quality of side effects. If I remember correctly Minoxidil can cause scar tissue around the heart and irregularities in your T-wave. That's just a different quality than "if you experience low libido you just lower the dose or stop medication and you're fine" as it is with Finasteride. Issues with the cardiovascular system are the most common causes of death in the western world. Furthermore does the fact that Dr. Sinclair is not only the author of the study about low dose oral minoxidil, but also the holder ot a patent for it not increase my trust in this approach.
  10. Long time no hear... How is it going with the topical Dut? Is there anyone here using Dr. Mwamba's topical solution called "Lipodut"?
