  1. Hi, For the last year I have been reaching out through email and photos to a few top clinics in the world to get an assessment for an hair transplant. Some doctors accepted me as a patient while others said I am required to take finasteride for 6-12 months and than review again my androgenetic alopecia. for example Dr.José Lorenzo said that my donor area is also affected by alopecia and the grafts can be very fragile. I DO NOT want to take finasteride as I have some friends who got severe side effects from that and I believe it's not worth the risk. In case I go head with an hair transplant using my current donor area and without finasteride will the result last for a long time or I might lose the transplanted hair after a few years? Here a video and images of my donor.
  2. I tried to schedule with Dr Laorwong BUT his responses were really strange. go with Dr Path. I am going to him in a few months
  3. I had a nice online consulting with Dr Guerreiro and he seems to do a good work. I found very few reviews here.. does anyone know this clinic or had an experience with them? Thanks
  4. Good question.the responses I got from him on whatsupp were really strange. I think he has a lot of work and he cannot handle such a large volume of patients. I gave up and prefer to go to more organized clinic. I hope I will ge good results from Dht clinic and Dr Pathomvanich
  5. I initially wanted to book with Dr Laorwong but he avoid scheduling the surgery so I stopped messaging him and choose dr Path(booked for this July) who really impressed me in our video consultation. I think Dr Laorwong is more popular due to his lower price and he produces good results but Dr Path is more expriened and seems like the clinic is more upscale.
  6. Great work Dr Pathomvanich. Can't wait for my surgery with you in July.
  7. Correct, but will an fut make a big diffrence in the total graft count? My main concern with fut is the recovery time and the scar it leaves as I cut my hair short. My donor area is average and I need 3000 grafts..what surgeon is most skilled for my case do you think?
  8. From what I read, it should not be an issue as an hybrid punch can be used with 0.95mm and keep the transection rate at a low level
  9. It was Dr Gur that is so praised everywhere but too me is underskilled
  10. The doctor I visited in Turkey stopped in the middle of the extraction and said the hair is c shape and he is not trained for that.. Do you think she will be as good as Dr Pathomvanich? The price difference is about 40%..
  11. I have curly hair. is she trained to work with the type of hair? this can be challenging and I need a well experienced surgeon that will be able to extract with low transection rate and also set the hair properly.
  12. I am looking for an hair transplant surgeon in Bangkok for this July.. I was in touch with Dr Laorwong for a few months and now when I try to finally book the date with him and is not responding.. I am looking now at Dr Pathomvanich who is one of the most experienced doctors in the world and I wanted to get some experiences from those who had a surgery with him. There are very few reviews of him here even though is clinic has been around for many many years. I think most people go with Laorwong because he provides good results with 80 Baht a graft while Dr Pathomvanich charges around 120 Baht. I personally do not mind to pay the extra if it's worth it as my hair is curly and the extraction is more challenging. I would like to hear your opinion. I personally impressed by him when watching this video
  13. @kutekay. what have you ended up doing? I am also considering Dr Laorwong and I have curly hair which is very similar to afro hair..
  14. Before I pull the trigger and schedule a surgery with Dr Laorwong I would like to hear your opinion.I had a surgery with Dr Gur about 4 months ago and he stopped in the early phase of the extraction and said I have curly hair- C shape and the transaction is too high and as a result he cannot go on.I consulted with Dr Laorwong who said he will be able to do the job..After my terrible exprience in Turkey I cannot take any risks and must go to skilled surgeon who can handle curly hair..
  15. I visited Dr Gur 3 days ago and started an fue surgery to implement 3000 grafts. On the consulation he saw I had a curly hair but was not too concerned about it. Dr Gur began the surgery and the extraction phase. a few mintues later he stopped and said he cannot do the surgery. He explained the my hair is C shape in the roots and as a result the hair is damaged and he cannot pull the grafts properly. He was using 0.7 mm motor punches. He recommended I should go the Dr Melike kulahci for an FUT transplant. In his letter to her he mentioned the C shape of my hair increased the transaction rate 500/290. I am shocked and disappointed but I assume he did the right thing and didn't butcher my donor area. What do you guys recommend me to do? Can I still do an fue transplant with larger punches? I have curly hair but not afro hair..
  16. Looks good man. Thanks for sharing. How long approximately it took you to recover from the surgery?
  17. Hi, can you please update on the results? I plan to go to Dr Gur as well..
  18. Thank Texan, this is true and for example this is what Dr Gur plan. What so you think?
  19. Thanks Melvin, here is another image of donor area. non stated that is because of the donor areahe donor area.
  20. Here is Dr Pekiner detailed answer: You are currently around Norwood 4 class of male pattern baldness but ongoing miniaturization is clearly pushing towards 5 to 6. A hair transplant is safe and logic to be planned only on a stable situation, otherwise you will lose more hair behind and around the transplanted one after some time. Pharmaceuticals such as oral Finasteride (staple medication) and Minoxidil are the preferred treatments in these cases, as well as supplements integration. Obviously you will not regain a full head of hair but you will hopefully strengthen your miniaturized hairs and avoid further worsening of your androgenetic alopecia pattern. So if you agree to start a therapy to treat AndroGenetic Alopecia, dr. Pekiner would prefer to wait 6 to 8 months of full therapy (ORAL Finasteride and Minoxidil + Biotin supplements) to see therapeutic response and then do a new evaluation.
  21. Hello everyone, For the last 2 months I have been looking for a surgeon to preform an hair transplant. I am 38 years old from Israel and getting bald for the last 10 years. I recently stop using minoxidil(after 10 years) and never used finasteride. Attached images to show my hair. For some reason that I dont understand some surgeons denied me, stating that I need to take meds like finasteride before they will consider me for an hair transplant. For example this is the list of clinics that accepted me: Dr Ferdurini, HDC, DHI Global, Dr. Ilker Apaydin, Dr Gur(fuecapilar) and many other clinics Those the rejected me are: Dr Pekiner, HLC, BHR and Dr Turan(the other doctor in fuecapilar) All these evaluation and the difference between them make me think what's happening here. am I a good candidate for an hair transplant? how come some surgeons say I am a good candidate while others demand I take finasteride for a few months (which I want to avoid) before they reconsider me. Thanks you very much guys! s
