  1. Hi Richard: Do you have a Blog with before/after pics?
  2. Thank you Dr. Mohmand for your response. Your words make me feel much better. I do trust D. Charles and I'm looking forward to seeing some great results in the months to come.
  3. Yeah, I must admit that I'm a bit suspicious, despite the fact the the HT was done by Dr. Charles. I don't know if anybody else (whether Charles' patient or not) has ever experienced something similar. The graft placement started at around 11:20 am and it was done just before 2 pm, non stop, with 2 techs (one on each side) placing the grafts. I'm a little bit worried, but I hope the results in a few months will ease my concerns. What do you guys think?
  4. 1) immediately after your procedure = 8 2) at 3-months post-HT = 0 3) at 6-months post-HT = 0 4) at 12-months post-HT = 0 5) return to pre-HT levels = 3 weeks 6) 1st HT: Strip: 2,050 gfts // 2nd HT: Strip: 2,100 gfts (same scale for both HT procedures)
  5. The surgery was with Dr. Charles just over 10 days ago (this was my 2nd HT with Dr Charles). He told me I had very little bleeding and that the techs did not have any issues inserting the grafts into each hole. I too was amazed at how fast they inserted the grafts, since he also did my first HT about 2 years ago and it took about 3.5 hours back then to insert just over 2000 grafts (excluding strip removal and disection). My obvious concerns this time were: 1)did I actually get 2,100 grafts, and if I did, then 2)did speed sacrifice the handling -and potential survivor- of my grafts? I trust D. Charles and I guess (or hope that) I might be one of those patients where everything just goes right, or like Dr. Beehner mentioned above, all the stars were in perfect alignment.
  6. I recently had a HT procedure where 2,100 grafts were placed on the front. The graft placement (excluding the removal of the donor site and graft dissection) took little less than 2.5 hours. Is this too fast, too slow or just average for placing 2100 grafts by two technicians, non-stop? I would appreciate your feedback / comments. Heat28

  8. After 10 ~ 12 days you should be OK to go out without a hat, but it is very likely that the recipient area will still be pink. I've been using my wife's makeup to cover up some of the pinkness. Three months after my HT, I still have a little bit of redness in the area, but it has diminished a lot. Your results will vary depending on your skin type (if you are too white then the redness will likely be more noticeable).
  9. Mike: How are you dealing with your shockloss at work? I imagine people ask you what's happened to your hair. Do you wear a hat at work? Sometimes we must take a few steps back before moving forward. I'm sure it will all come back and you'll look great pretty soon.
  10. Has anybody noticed that there have been 20 replies (including this one) to this post and Dr. DeYarman (who started this thread) has not even replied once? With that kind of interest in public opinion, why does he even bother to work on this field?
  11. Dr DeYarman: I don't think you would offend anyone by stating in this forum the reasons why you've decided to sue Pat and this website. I think all of us want to hear both sides of the story, and we are all smart enough to reach our own conclusions based on the facts presented here. Hope to hear from you -publicly- very soon. Hair28
  12. notgoing2gobald: The white stuff I'm referring to is not the little bulb (root) you normaly see on fallen hairs. The white 'tails' I see are actually long and dry. I'm pretty sure it was the same white gooey stuff surrounding the grafts right before they were placed on my scalp. Is this the sheath element?
  13. Agent: I had a HT about 2.5 months ago with Dr. Charles in Florida, and was also surprised when I saw the techs placing all the grafts in my head. I later learned -as Bill said- this is almost standard operating procedure among hair transplant clinics. Dr. Charles worked on the donor site and did all the incisions. After that he left to his office (same building) while his staff did all the tedious work. The Dr. then came in at the end and inspected all the grafts to make sure there were no problems. So far everything is going well. Please keep your blog updated, and heal well. Hair28
  14. Can anybody tell me the name of those white 'tails' attached to the end of the grafts?
  15. Good to hear those 'puppies' are staying put. Does anybody remember the name of that white stuff attached at the end of the grafts?
