  1. @Rahal Hair Transplant Does shock loss, both in the regions of the native and donor zone, reverse and do the native hairs come back if you don't use medication? I am curious about this theoretically. My understanding is unless the native hairs were very miniaturized and they were going to go on their own anyway, the healthy native hairs would come back in 6 months to 12 months
  2. I know cracks in the first month are normal, but if you had previous native hair in the grafted area, do cracks stop the native hairs from growing back??
  3. Hi all, just wanted to start a general discussion as I stumbled upon this today: The Scalp Tension Theory Of Hair Loss: A Scientific Breakdown (perfecthairhealth.com) What are people's general thoughts-does scalp tension pay a significant role in hair loss? And does it impact hair transplants? It was an interesting article imo, lots of research referenced but curious what others think-it doesn't have any definitive conclusions.
  4. @TEXAN35 thanks for your input. Talked to my clinic and they think so too, they explained how they spaced out the harvesting and it is very likely shock loss and to be patient and give it 6-9 months.
  5. @gillenator Awesome!! You don't think it looks like its abnormally thinning or has patches in the back center? Appreciate your reply
  6. Here is a photo of the back of my head on day 2 or 3 post op
  7. @Melvin- Moderator my crown is balding too though as an fyi
  8. Hi all, I am about 3 weeks out post op. How is my donor area looking? Anything I should be concerned about? Many thanks!
  9. @Rahal Hair Transplant Thanks as usual for an incredibly in depth answer. So appreciated.
  10. Hi all! I am day 15 and about to start wearing hats. 2 qs Can a hat impact your growth if it is too tight and restricts your grafted area? Did y’all wear regular baseball caps or snap backs and how did your results come out? many thanks
  11. @Gatsby @HappyMan2021 @Rahal Hair Transplant any thoughts? I have been using day sprays and night sprays which just ran out yesterday if that makes a difference.
  12. Hey all! I am 14 days post op and wondering if this looks normal. If you look at the pics, you can see some red/pink areas that look shiny/ooze a little bit-I am going to contact my clinic obviously but does anyone know if this looks normal or is some kind of infection or something to be concerned about- like pus filled pimples, etc.? Thanks so much!
  13. Thanks @Gatsby have you ever heard of sunlight through the windows damaging people’s grafts? Or is the only risk just the skin discoloration? i don’t sit directly under a visible stream of sunlight coming into the window, but I don’t close all my window shades compulsively. I just walk around and there is some light inside from outside and that is it.
  14. @Sunset Dune I am not talking about going outside without a head covering. I am talking about how the brightness of the sun just naturally shines light through all the windows of one's house. Are we just supposed to close all the blinds? Or wear a head covering indoors? @Rahal Hair Transplant @sl @Gatsby @HappyMan2021 you all have been so helpful, any insight into this question would also be so appreciated
  15. Yeah but what about sunlight coming through your windows? just like normal light when you are inside?
  16. Post op- I know you are supposed to avoid direct sunlight when you are outside with a hat, but what about indirect sunlight/sunlight that comes in through your windows while you are recovering? For post op days 1-10 my windows have been been having a lot of sunlight come through. Is this okay since I am not outside directly under the sun?
  17. Hi guys, I am 9 days post op and looking at my post op instructions and had some questions. 1.) it said not to bend until the swelling is completely gone (7-10 days) and head should be above heart level as the pressure can dislodge the grafts. It said to try to keep your chin parallel to the ground. normal life requires me to grab things; slightly lean forward to look at my phone, computer. When I have bent over for picking up clothes I bent at my knees and never aimed my head at the floor. i feel like on day 9 now I should be able to just not worry about this-can bending at this point if I have any minor swelling really dislodge my grafts? I would love to know if this really happens to anyone, this seems like overkill to me at day 9. I can’t keep my chin parallel to the ground 24/7 lol. Even as I type this I am looking down at my phone. 2.) at night I went on a 3 mile walk today, slowly because I was so tired of being stuck at home. from this article: https://nashvillehairdoctor.com/fue/recovery-tips/important-tips/https://nashvillehairdoctor.com/fue/recovery-tips/important-tips/ It says there is nothing I can really do post op past day 5 to make my grafts fall out without a blunt force trauma or surgical intervention. Other members have basically told me all I have to do is just not ram my head into a poll and I’ll be fine at this point. is adding a 3 mile daily walk to my routine fine? @Melvin- Moderator @HappyMan2021 @Smacias15 @Rahal Hair Transplant @slI would appreciate any insight!
  18. Did anyone use a steroid cream to reduce scalp redness after HT from week 1 onwards? Like betamethasone? Is this necessary or does your body just take care of the redness and inflammation on its own? i finished a course of oral prednisone for a week but was curious if anything else needed with steroids. thanks all!
  19. Hi all, Wanted to post this thread to document my results but also give back. Everyone has been so helpful with my post op recovery so I am hoping people who were considering LA FUE/Jacques Abrahamian benefit from this! I am attaching my post op pics on day 7 post op, after my morning wash. I had diffuse thinning in my hairline and zone 2 and I received 3000 grafts to get rid of the see through effect and buffer my hair. The experience was amazing-Jacques, his brother, and their whole team are absolutely incredible. Super kind, patient, meticulous, and their results speak for themselves. I had bad anxiety after the hair transplant prob due to all the medications i took and the procedure. But their team was super responsive and helped me with any question I needed post op. I followed them on IG and talked to them over the past 2 years before I booked. @Smacias15's post also encouraged me to book with them. I haven't seen them much on here so wanted to document my results in case anyone in the future wants to go to them. Too early to see results obviously, but my experience thus far has been 10/10. I even talked to 3 of their past patients before booking who were a year out and had gotten repairs and their first transplants and they had ridiculously nice hair. I'll update with pics when the growth comes but here is day 7 post op! If it makes a difference: singles: 480 doubles: 1321 triples: 1201
  20. Thx @TorontoMan I'm gonna post an update of my scalp and a thread on the doc I went with, he isn't on here much but he was fantastic. So it sounds like carrying a heavy bag can't dislodge the grafts you are saying?
  21. Hi all, I am day 8 post op and am going to fly. My bags are kinda heavy lol and even though I am checking them in for the flight i have some questions: 1.) Is it okay to carry bags at this point at the airport? Could it dislodge my grafts if my blood pressure and heart rate goes up from carrying my bags at airport? 2.) Is bending okay at this point? Or do you still have to keep your head over your heart? ty so much!
  22. Hey @Gatsby @gillenator @HappyMan2021 and all, I was looking through my post op instructions and it said to sleep at a 45-90 degree angle for 28 days post op. That seems excessive, any idea why they would request that?
