  1. 2youngforthis - I hear ya. I was consulting with Rahal's office for my first HT but I've ceased since this happened. I'm waiting for more answers on how this happened - and what they will be doing differently inside the operating room to prevent this from happening again.
  2. Looks awesome, congrats. The hairline and top scalp already look significantly fuller. Good choice keep your hair short, it looks nice that way. Your head appeared to heal very quickly during the first two weeks after the op. What kind of after-op instructions were you given?
  3. The dry hair results are a little hard to really discern, due to the parted hair styling in the before pictures. But the wet hair before and after pictures are a much better apples to apples comparison. Very nice improvement for 2600 grafts!
  4. None of these photos are dated. Do you have any photos that are pre-op 2007 (virgin scalp)? Thats the only real way to understand the progress thats been made.
  5. Thanks johnboy. Indeed, recipient graft area is the priority! I sort of imagined I'd be uber careful too with the top of my head. Good tip on the neck cushion, I will get one. Do you or anybody else have a pic of these "loose fitting hats" that I've heard some clinics provide for travel following the HT? Is it like a paper cap or something? I would prefer to avoid as many stares as possible during travel.
  6. Hi all. After years of saving, I am ready to book my first HT in the next few months. I've decided on FUE, due to the faster recovery of the donor area, and the ability to continue to cut my hair at a #2. My question - if I were to travel from Washington DC to Europe for a FUE, how much time would I need to spend in the overseas hotel and recovering before flying back home? I'm concerned about the flight mostly... would resting my head against the seat result in damage to the donor area (i.e. bleeding, prolonged healing, more scarring, etc)? I think its inevitable that I would fall asleep or rest my head on a long flight like that. Anything else to think about?
  7. Why were all of your messages deleted or edited to nothing after you spoke with Dr Rahal on the telephone today? You posted 8 month photos with results you were not happy with, and you specifically complained about him barely being present in the operating room while the technicians worked on your head. Did Dr Rahal ask you to delete this thread as a condition to refund or rework your hair? I think its a fair question. I'm very concerned that negative reviews of any popular surgeon don't have much of a shelf life on these kinds of web forums. I am considering Dr Rahal for FUE work later this year. If this site is really about objectively sharing information, then negative results threads should never be deleted or censored.
  8. I didn't to violate the terms of service for this website by suggesting someone post a link if they should not. Perhaps PM'ing me the info would be ok?
  9. justgrow, yes! That is exactly my line of thinking, which is why I brought up this question. Perhaps it is a nonissue though. /relief
  10. Hi, thanks for the info. I will look into Dermatch. Is there a well reputed place to buy it? I've been pretty happy with Couvre so far but I am willing to try other things. Bill - I do use Rogaine Foam (for about 1.5 years now) with apparently no results. As for Propecia/et al, I had negative side effects with Propecia so unfortunately I don't take any internal meds for hair loss. I am banking on getting enough grafts to live forever on one or tow future HTs. * sigh.
  11. I just saw Comb's massive 5400 graft strip session with Dr. Hasson and I was blown away: http://hair-restoration-info.c...=636104312#636104312 However, I have concerns that my scalp laxity is tight and I might not be able to get a good graft count when I get my first HT. I have attempted the laxity exercises but I find them actually difficult to do - my elbows hurt when I attempt to raise/lower the scalp in the rear of my skull. I may have a bit of tendenitis from liting weights which causes this discomfort, but it makes me wonder if there is an efficient alternative exercise? I am also concerned that laxity may be lower with persons with lower body fat percentages? I have about 12-13% body fat, but I am working on decreasing to 8% over the course of 2009. Will that be counterproductive if I plan on having a HT at the end of 2009?
  12. Incredible coverage! I am very excited to see how this turns out over time.
  13. I bought Nizoral 1% from Walgreens. I use it once a week because I found EOD irritated my scalp, especially around the ears. Kind of like a light sunburn.
  14. Hi, I'm new here. I've been using Couvre about everyday since I discovered it a year ago to mitigate the appearance of thinning in my frontal region. Does anybody know if having the product on my scalp constantly is going to "smother" my existing follicles or anything to that effect?
  15. I was going to say, Couvre seems basically like a makeup compound. I'm not familiar with the titles of all the women cosmetics, but there have to be several cremes that women use for other purposes that can be adapted to a Couvre mission. I am not surprised at all to hear about the eyeliner - clever!
  16. Hi, I think you are definitely in a position where Couvre will help. Couvre is applied to the skin/scalp, not the hair itself. It will take the shine off of your thinning head. If you still have hair but it is thing, Couvre will do it. I've been using it daily for about a year and it was a big confidence boost. I have reddish hair but used the Light Brown color.
