  1. Dear members , There are many doctors who would recommend using finasteride after hair transplant surgery because hair loss is a progressive condition. Once you have undergone a transplant , if a medical management is not done with finasteride the overall look might not be natural because you will retain your transplanted here but will continue to lose the natural hair and hence the need for medical management. however I wanted to understand there are many doctors who would ask you to start on finasteride for 6 months or at least 1 year before planning for a hair transplant surgery and then perform the procedure. I'm not sure if this is the best way because by using finasteride you are actually improving the quality and growing hairs which are sensitive to Androgen receptors and when you transplant these Androgen sensitive hairs there is a risk that in future you will lose this hair when you stop using finasteride. Experts here have any thoughts on this ?
  2. Thanks for your reply. I have not considered any other country but am Open to the options. I have a large area to cover so my budget for the 1st procedure is around 5k to 6K USD. Assuming it would cost another 5K for second one . SO not sure if other countries in Europe will fit my budget. But please suggest any options and I will start my research. Any body can be trained as a HT specialist. But HT is a surgery and in medical schools in many countries after doing an MD only those specializing in Plastic surgery are allowed to do a cosmetic surgery like HT. The other exception is dermatologists who undergo surgical training. In Turkey I see any MD can do transplant which is a big red flag in most other developed nations and also in India.
  3. Turkey because with number of patients the doctors have been handling there is astounding ! think experience and innovation is better. I live in Switzerland and generally not much information is available on the transplants here and reviews . Not to mention the costs are much higher compared to similar jobs in Turkey. Many Swiss go to Turkey for the procedure.
  4. Dear Forum members, I recently came across this forum and found some excellent discussions. Am a Norwood 6 on Balding and have been considering/researching clinics in Turkey for my HT. I live in Switzerland and have looked at two clinics here. Surprisingly now a days they are getting Turkish doctors as visitors here and trying to offer competitive packages. Though Swiss quality is unquestionable , I feel the experience of doctors in Turkey is obviously much more!!but need to find the right clinic. My 1st criteria has been finding a plastic surgeon who can open the channels or be involved maximum in the procedure. Second would be a dermatologist trained in HT. Most clinics do not even want to talk about the qualifications of the doctor who would actually be doing your procedure. They are Hair mills according to me. I have looked at multiple clinics and found Capital Hair center (Dr Ekrem Keskin) and AEK (Dr. Ali Karadeniz) are the ONLY ones from my list which had a plastic surgeon trained in US. Can anyone give me a feedback on these two clinics or surgeons ? Also one point on costs. ASMED and Dr. Bicer on an average cost double or even 3 times the cost of these clinics with trained plastic surgeons. Am a little confused why would it be that way ?
