Good choice! Bicer is easily Turkey's best right now, I feel. I think this go will get you a great hairline imo, but keep in mind you'll probably need another surgery for the crown and maybe to fill in frontal third based on the level of loss. Diffuse thinning is a pain in the ass but you did good this time around man.

I noticed you said she is turkeys best but how does she compared to other top doctors in the world?

From what I have seen excellent. Soft singles in the hairline, achieving great density with minimal grafts etc. But crown many clinics struggle with that is why I pointed it out.

Do you think the other ones are worth waiting for or do you think Dr. Ahmad is on par with them and I should consider booking with him?

This is Dr Path's gallery. I recall seeings loads of before and after pics on his previous website.

    This is Dr Pong's gallery.
    https://www.thaihairclinic.com/hair-transplant-before-after-photos/Caucasian/severe-male-pattern-baldness-Norwood-6-and-7

I'm not someone who follows the crowd. I use my senses and about 8 years ago I realized that Dr Pong's patients all have that similar weave like looking hair after the new hair has grown following the transplant. Hence I didn't want to go ahead with Dr Pong and was lurking on this forum every now and then to see if there's any new Dr whose work I would be impressed with. Then I came across BEQ clinic on youtube and there had like a miilion views for that clip.

And then i went on their facebook page but apart from that I cannot find any reviews of them at all. I did contact the clinic and they asked me to see them for a hair diagnosis.

But @Melvin- Moderator recently made a good point on one of my posts where he said that the clinic is an unknown. So I'm guessing it's not recognised by the hair transplant association? Whats the name of this higher authority that recognises which doctor and which practice is legit?

I get what you mean cos whenever anyone mentions Thailand and HT in the same sentence, the top 2 names would be Dr Path and Dr Pong. Dr Kongkiat Laorwong is a close third. so yeah.

Right on thanks for your explanation I appreciate it! I just looked over the before and afters I do see why your saying. And yea path seems to be good.

I will definitely check out the place you had your surgery from!

yea good point about the clinic you went to not being recognized probably why they are underrated

@Iceee222 the surgeon you choose should be dictated by having a large body of work on patients who have the same hair loss as you with results that you are aiming for. Thailand does have two good surgeons. However once your up in the air you really may as well go to who you feel is the surgeon who best meets your hair loss needs. All the best!

Hey thanks for the reply I appreciate it good advice. So I’ve been looking around and I feel like a lot of surgeons have a wide variety of cases and most have experience with my type of hair loss. If there’s any in particular that you are aware of that be great if you let me know! I was very interested in De Freitas pinto couto and ferriera but unfortunately de Freitas can’t can’t me in until February 2024 and the others cant even get me a consultation online until then.

looking into Mwamba, Ahmad, heinicke, and feriduni, and devroye

Thanks for sharing, based on these, that sounds like a good conservative number. Hopefully those surgeons were all recommended? Make sure to look at their examples being sure their crystal clear, check their hairline designs, are they in keeping with the style you’re hoping to achieve?

Read the experiences of former patients. If you’re absolutely confident with more than one surgeon, then you can start factoring in costs and travel.

    that’s my two cents.

I’m New Zealand based and made a big mistake by going somewhere local when the country was locked down. I should have waited.

Ok appreciate the advice thanks. Yeah they’ve all been on the recommended so far except a few docs from Europe who have received very high praises in all these posts from senior members on here

    wondering what docs u recommend?

There is no best surgeon overall, the is only the best for your specific case.

Ove elite surgeon may suggest a very different approach from another. You can share more detail and photos of your starting point if you want some input.

Youll want to hear as many credible perspectives as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve hit up many surgeons and that all seem to recommend 25-2800 grafts with the majority to hairline and front of scalp. They said possibly fill in mid scalp but easier to tell in person. I seem happy w that as I will for sure have more grafts in future if I need hair transplant. I want to be on the conservative side. My pics are below. If you think u know someone who would be great for me that’d be awesome. Im 25 been on fin and min topically for 3 years now.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad you mentioned about small zigzags cos yes, they do end up looking more natural. Dr Pong's patients from THT Clinic all seem to have the same hair after their HT. It looks like a weave and all of them comb their hair side parting. I have seen Dr Laorwong's name here and elsewhere. I'll probably have to search for more info on him and his work online.

You mentioned Dr. pong is Dr. Paths pupil. Do Dr. paths operations look like Dr. Pongs operations when that are done? Like the weave u mentioned?

Dr Laorwang was my other choice as well. He quoted me 2000 grafts for $4000. Dr pattys deal is 2500 grafts for about $2600. I felt like I needed 2500 grafts, and the price was cheaper anyways.

I believe Thai baht cash, cc, wire transfer. I had to use two cards tho due to limits on my card/bank.

Yes they use DHI, with a WAW punch machine for extraction. The back of my head looked better than most people's after a day.

The consult was good, they drew on potential hairlines and talked about the process. I really trusted them after meeting them. I'm sure Dr Laorwang is great also. If you're in Thailand maybe give them both an in person consultation.

My donor was good. They never mentioned it's great or anything. It was it's typical white guy donor I'd say.

    No problemo

Hey wondering y u didn’t consider or look at Pathomvanich?

In my opinion it's madness to to limit yourself to surgeons location near geographically, especially as the cost of flights aren't necessarily much more for further away. Not that there's anything wrong with the two Thai doctors mentioned but you really want to consult with more that a couple of doctors (even recommended ones) before making your decision

Hey thanks for your reply. I have been looking around and a few new doctors have come to mind for me. Do you have any recommendations I should look into?

after reviewing other docs I still am impressed with the 2 tai doctors as you seem to be too?

  11. Just had my online consultation with de Freitas and was excited about it. As I saw he was getting good reviews and on the recommended list on here.  However I am bummed to hear that he won’t be available until February 2024.

do people mind sharing other surgeons they recommend/had good experience with/are well respected due to track record. I will keep looking at the recommended list in here but I like having discussions as well.

    Thanks!!

    Hi Ice,

Have you been able to stabilise your hairloss yet and are you still using topical medication or have you tried oral?

I'm also in Australia but am trying to stabilise my hair loss with medication before pulling the trigger on a hair transplant.

If I do go down the hair transplant route it's highly unlikely I'll do it in (or near) Australia. The procedure is too important to be influenced by the cost of flights.

I have been able to w topical fin and min. Where are u looking into?

Both Thailand docs are on the recommended list on here. Seems to me they are well trusted and respected.
