  1. 9.5 months. Very happy with the result with perhaps a bit more progress still to come… Does anyone know what the lump is on my parting and how to treat it? Have contacted the hair surgery but they can’t speak to me until tomorrow…
  2. 7 month update. Pretty pleased but let me know your thoughts
  3. 1 day short of 26 weeks/6 months. Very happy. Seems like the hair is now maturing and thickening so feels more natural. Also still hair growing in as I had some more spots last week which I gather is probably hair coming through
  4. Here is my 17 week/4 month update. Right side has come in pretty well and I’m already pretty happy with the appearance on the right but hope to get more hairs and for them to thicken up. Left side is a bit behind the right but I don’t think that is unusual and I’m thinking it will pick up soon. I am still getting red spots on both sides which I think is a good sign - hairs coming through! Overall, pretty happy with where I’m at for 4 months. I welcome any thoughts/comments.
  5. Okay here is my 13 week/3 month/day 91 update… Right side so far is showing a lot more growth than the left side which hasn’t really started yet. But I gather it’s normally only around now that growth gets going properly so I’m hoping for big improvements over the next couple of months.
  6. Cheers, hopefully we will both see some huge growth soon. From what I’ve read from around 12 week mark it might really start to get going!
  7. Day 78. Hoping I’m through the worst of it and excited about growth hopefully exploding soon… Right side of my head is showing faster progress at the moment.
  8. Farjo results look very good, Hair Doctor also looks reasonable. I am in Scotland and went for Seneca but I was also impressed by the Doctor who I spoke to at the Glasgow Clinic.
  9. Day 49…. I’d say I have shed over 95% of the transplanted hairs, maybe I will hold on to the ones that haven’t shed or they will shed late. I can see hairs already growing from the transplanted follicles where the hair did shed so I am really hoping I will be lucky and get some good early results. I was prepared for the waiting but it is brutal!! So frustrating!! Any comments on progress very welcome. Thanks
  10. Absolutely fantastic results so far. I am delighted to see this as my transplanted area looks similar to yours. You must be very pleased
  11. Nice one, thanks for your reply. I guess I have another 3 months or so until the fun really begins!
  12. Okay, I’m only on day 35 and confess the waiting game is frustrating me already! From what I’ve read most people see good results by 6 months with the full result (representing further cosmetic improvement but I understand not as great) at 12 months or just after. What I am less clear about is the average time that it takes for people to think they look better than they did before surgery. For someone like me with hairline work am I likely to be in a better position at 3 months or 4 months or a longer/shorter timeframe? Appreciate it’s not possible to say with certainty and everyone is different but I’d be interested to hear what peoples’ experiences have been.
  13. I hope so. I was told that I had quite thin/fine donor hair but the fact the Doctor was able to use a lot of 3 hair follicles should mean I end up with decent looking density… Fingers crossed
  14. Day 27… I don’t appear to have shed much yet. Thoughts on progress? These are taken under a light and I hope I don’t appear quite as red in regular situations.
  15. Dr Elgmati at Seneca in Glasgow. I’m on Finasteride and about to get back on minoxidil - I was told to stop it for 3 weeks
  16. Long time lurker here. Finally got my FUE done in the UK for £4300. Very happy with the work. Only 1450 grafts but I was told something like 4200 hairs - lots of three hair follicles were used to try and create density. My aim was to significantly reduce my recessions and give me a conservative but dense hair line that can be styled and look natural in to old age. Looking forward to using a comb and maybe some styling products again. What do people think of the work? Suspect many would have been more aggressive with the hairline but that wasn’t my aim. Will post more about the clinic I went to and provide more updates as I progress on this journey!
  17. Hi everyone. I am slightly confused because I have received a quote for 1200 grafts, one for 1500 grafts, one for 1500-2000 grafts, one for 2000 grafts and finally one for 2000-2500 grafts. My aim is to reduce the areas of recession in a relatively conservative manner (ie I don’t mind a bit of recession and I don’t require the hairline to be lowered) while producing high density/volume. How many grafts do you think I need?
  18. Of course I did, how else would they be able to quote?! Photo was up but I’ve since deleted, don’t require any more responses
  19. Update - Bicer is saying only 1500 to 2000. Everyone seems to think she has a good reputation so I am thinking the 1500 I have been quoted by the UK clinic is perfectly reasonable
  20. Thanks for your reply. What do you mean by “address”? I am content to still have a receding hairline, just not nearly as severe so if you think that’s possible with the number grafts that have been suggested then I will be content (appreciate others may be different). It’s Seneca, I have seen good before and after photos by the 3 doctors who work at the clinic. All quite conservative but I like the work.
  21. Hi, I have received a competitive quote in the UK for 1200-1500 grafts for £4500 with the Dr carrying out the whole procedure ie no technicians. I’m aware that I could get 2-2500 grafts for slightly less than this price somewhere abroad but my preference is to be home on the day of the operation. I think what is proposed by the UK clinic will give me a conservative and sufficiently dense hairline that can be styled, although clearly there will not be enough grafts to fully fill in the temples. I don’t mind having some recession as I think that goes towards keeping a natural look. I just want to check if people agree that 1200-1500 grafts is enough for a dense hairline that can be styled? I think that with this number of grafts it will have be conservative to be dense but do people think it would still make a significant difference to the receding areas? I am torn because I want a natural look but of course I want the temples filled to a reasonable extent and I hope that can be achieved with the number of grafts that are proposed. I wonder if people think the lack of technicians is a negative because it means less grafts are possible or do you think what has been proposed is ideal for me to maintain a natural look but also to make a reasonable improvement to the hairline recession? Thanks for any advice.
