  1. Okey, how long since transplant? Beard hairgrows slower than scalp hair, so that might also be a contributing factor
  2. Hi, i had surgery 7,5 months ago. I have many hairs that does not seem to be growing. These are hairs that initially shed and sprouted 3-4 months ago. They have been at same length and are not growing. They are very short so its hard to show on pictures. They sit pretty firm and cant easily pluck them out using tweezers. seems to be somewhat unusual, but have seen other people reporting similar things happening to them. Wanted to see if this have happened to more people on here, and if they eventually just have fallen out or started to grow at some point.
  3. It does not seem like it. It’s weird, because they are still there and have stayed at same length for months. Guess i just need to wait and see if they fall out or if they eventually start growing.. has the same happened to you?
  4. One of the reasons i chose Dr Saifi was seeing some good results from him om this forum, and from talking with him he seemed like a ethical doctor. The surgery went fine, and the work and density looked good post-op. I’m not sure of why my progress have not been satisfactory, if its just bad luck or if its because of the work of the doctor/technicians. I will hold my judgment regarding the doctors work until 12 months after surgery.
  5. Not much change from the last update. Cant say i’m happy with the progress so far. I feel the density is far from where it should be. Looks like not more than 50 % of grafts have sprouted. I’m at 7,5 months now and will wait the full 12 months to to give my final judgement, but im doubting it will improve enough to be satisfactory.
  6. In my opinion you should stick to finasteride for at least a year to see how it works for you. Your remaining hair is still thick, which means that if finasteride is able to stabilize your hair loss you might have a good head of hair for some years. I wouldn’t jump on dutasteride unless its absolutely necessary, especially at such a young age. If you start dutasteride and oral minoxidil now, you have no good alternatives down the road if your hair loss progresses. If it turns out finasteride works for you, you should keep using it until it stops being effective, and then you can reconsider dutasteride
  7. Hard to tell without any pictures, knowing your age or if you are on any medication.
  8. I also want to add that i seem to have hairs that sprouted a couple months ago, but dont seem to be growing. To be clear, these are hair that initially shed. Seems to be a bit unusual, but have read about it happening to some other people on here as well
  9. Hi, just wanted to post an update. Its now been 6,5 months since my surgery. Although there is an obvious improvement from pre-surgery, i am bit worried about the density. However, i am still seeing new hairs pop through, which is a good sign. Hopefully there will be more in the coming months and more density added
  10. Thanks! Yes, it's great. Can really feel it's starting to kick off now You will get there in a few months, just be patient!
  11. Different doctors have very different opinions regarding heavy lifting/training after surgery. Some say it's fine after even one week, some say two weeks or one month. 1,5 month seems very strict. I seriously doubt heavy lifting after two months can have any impact on your results.
  12. 4 month update (In 3 days) here is a picture of wet hair before transplant and one after four months.
  13. 3,5 month update: starting to see some nice growth in temple areas, especially the right temple. Can also feel some small coming out In the mid scalp area.
  14. Saw your thread. Looks like your’re in a good situation for a hair transplant, and i think you will have a great outcome 🙂
  15. Hi y'all. Just a quick (3 months and one week) update just because i'm seeing the first signs of growth! The first pic to the left was taken two weeks ago, while the 2nd to the right was taken yesterday. Also added two pics taken outside today showing how big of a difference lighting conditions makes.
  16. Thank you! I'm quite happy i made that decision. I just found a picture from 2012 (age 23) which clearly shows how much my hairline had receded by that point. It's hard to tell how my hair would look like today without meds, but i have a feeling i would need a lot more grafts 😅 .
  17. 3 month picture update, including a picture of my donor area. I feel everything's healed well, and i'm pleased with how my donor looks. I have cut my back and sides a few times since the transplant, i guess it's somewhere between 1-1,5 cm length now. Haven't seen any growth yet, but hopefully soon!
  18. He was very involved in the planning of the procedure, hair line design etc. He made all the incisions/slits himself, while two technician/nurses did the extractions. The technicians seemed to be very experienced and have been working with Dr. Saifi for years. They also did most of the implantation, but Dr. Saifi oversaw the whole process and did the implantation in the hair line at the end.
  19. Sorry, the pic was a bit small! I can upload some new ones from today, from different angles and lighting. The last one to the right is with some toppik added. My right side is much thinner than my left side. Hopefully the number of grafts inserted there will some density to that area. s
  20. Just a quick update. 9 weeks since hair transplant tomorrow. Redness is slowly starting to disappear. Noticing some tiny pimples here and there in the hairline, but that is expected i guess. Just waiting for the transplanted hairs to start growing. I'm hopeful that i will start seeing some growth at the 3 month mark!
  21. Just a quick 6 week update: Most, or all, of my transplanted hairs seems to have fallen out by now. Redness is still visible, but not too bad i guess. I don't think i have had any shock loss as of yet. I feel i now can go outside without wearing a cap without thinking it's obvious i had a hair transplant, which is nice. Looking forward to the months to come!
  22. Congrulations with the HT, Tunit. The work looks great! Looking forward to seeing your progress photos. Dr. Saifi recommended the laser hat to me, but i must say i'm a bit skeptical regarding its effectiveness. Will be interesting hearing about your views about after using it for a while. As Maize said, it is risky not using finasteride. It is of course understandable having some fears of side-effects, but if you start of by micro dosing 0,25 mg per day or 0,5 mg every other day the risks of side effects should be small. And usually the few side effects that occurs usually subside after a while. I have been on 1,25 mg for over 10 years with no side effects. I had some minor side effects in the beginning but those subsided within a few weeks.
  23. Hi, good people. I had a transplant a month ago, and my hair is now truly looking like shit. I have tried using toppik, but it was just too inconvenient, and i don't want to worry about getting powder running down my face when i go out in rain or at the gym. I therefore bought a product called "Toppik root concealer". It's not hair fibers, but rather a spray, which are used for "coloring" roots of dyed hair. See results under: It's easy to apply, and does not come off until you are showering. It colors your scalp, so it's kind of similar to the effect that dermmatch has. i guess other root concealers product would work fine too, but i have only tried the toppik brand. And if you have too much diffuse thinning, it will probably look unnatural.
  24. I think he seems reasonably priced. I paid about 2,68 euros per graft, 5900 euros for 2200 grafts
