  1. Thanks for the response. I also feel as though I was slightly tricked but I am at a point where I do not want to take if off unless I got surgery. How was it traveling to Turkey? I am from the US so I am a little nervous about that.
  2. @SeanTomanI would love to hear more about your experience going from hair system to hair transplant if you don't mind sharing. And yeah, I think it might be damaging the scalp which is why it needs to come off!
  3. I do not have the money for that unfortunately. @SeanTomanI do think I respond well to finasteride, I have never had a side effect and have been taking for 5 years. I also think it has kept my hair despite having a system. I enjoy FUECapilar's results a lot and they are what I would want for my outcome.
  4. Hi all, Some of you may remember me. About a year ago, I was planning to do a hair transplant with a local, random doctor. After coming to this forum, I was luckily steered away from making an expensive mistake. You can see my post history for the thread I am referring to. My situation is slightly unique, as I do wear a hair system and have for nearly 3 years. I have been on finasterside for over 5 years. After conducting another few months of research, I decided my favorite two clinics for both price and results are FUECapilar and Dr. Luis Nader. Additionally, I have since moved, where Dr. Luis Nader is only 5 hours away by car. I do like the results of FUECapilar better, but I am not getting much responses from them. On the other hand, Brenda at Dr. Nader's office has been responsive and already booked me a date (December 27/28). I am strongly considering following through with this appointment with Dr. Nader. While I am able to find more consistent good results online from FUECapilar, I only see glowing recommendations about Dr. Nader. Additionally, FUECapilar would be cheaper. Does anyone have input on this situation? The December 27/28 date is perfect for me because I am off of work for the holidays -- my only problem would be to miss a wedding but it is out of state anyway. Do y'all still believe that Dr. Nader is a solid choice? I've attached some pics for reference -- the goofy haircut is due to my system.
  5. Hi all, I wanted to update this thread. Having a shaved head sent me into a horrible depression and mental spiral. I didn’t leave my house for a while and eventually went back to my stylist and got a bald fade system cut in and transitioned back to normal hair system wearing. I have since moved to Texas. But, again, I find myself eyeing hair transplants. The system works but I want my own hair, and I want it to be age appropriate for me in the future. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I feel stuck with this system - can’t take it off unless I go through with a procedure. Perhaps I will get back into the research part of this process. I wish I could’ve enjoyed life bald, but it really destroyed me.
  6. Thank you for your input. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I have since removed my hair system and have completely shaved my head. Rocking the bald head look for awhile! Will debate if I need a transplant or not in the future.
  7. Also, weeks of tenuous conversation leads to a message saying "here is the bank account, wire X euros to hold your spot" ...? What? It's a WhatsApp conversation, and a document was typed up on a Word Processor using Comic Sans. Am I wrong for being uncomfortable? Does anyone have experience with this kind of situation when looking abroad?
  8. It just feels like I'm communicating with nothing. It is via WhatsApp. I do get responses, but they are one words. Very brief. Not indicative of the kind of person I want to send money to for an operation. I understand that is a translation issue and busy-ness of course, but still. Dr. Bicer.
  9. This is how I am feeling. Perhaps it is due to the above poster -- I am just one of many, many prospective person and it would be impractical to dedicate all that time to all prospective people. This makes me feel better.
  10. Hi all, I have been continuing conducting research after posting here a few weeks back, and was steered away from a would-be bad decision. I have been using this forum as a resource to only look into doctors that have proven results. I have been interested in a doctor in Turkey, and have been in communication with their office. I am interested in this clinic due to their results (the patients before pictures are similar to my own hair situation, and I am impressed with the outcome), affordability, and attestations on this site. Also, this clinic is forum-recommended. My biggest qualm has been distance, but that is a fear I know I will have to get over. Anyway, the communication is almost nonexistent, and I wanted to know if this is just kind of how it is when dealing with Turkish clinics, or if this is an issue that I should be concerned about. All communication occurs via WhatsApp, which I don't love, and it seems very... tenuous? One word responses, choppy grammar, often going days without a response, lack of typical formalities ("thank you", "please", etc.). I do not feel like I am communicating with professional clinic, or a person really. It does not seem like they even want my business, as often I am saying .....okay, what comes next? Anyway, does anyone have input on this? I understand that there exists a language barrier, and perhaps this is just the way it is. I'm just shocked that this is the communication from a forum-recommended clinic, and it does not provide me with confidence in traveling overseas for such an operation.
  11. @Gatsby - I could continue to wear this piece. It does do the trick. I just don't feel authentic anymore. For awhile I was ecstatic to have it. Recently, I feel like it's hiding a piece of myself, which is why I initially looked into hair transplants. I could just... take it off. Or leave it on. I'm just sick of paying for it. It's like paying rent when you can pay mortgage.
  12. I appreciate you all for talking some sense into me. Any recommendations for how to deal with the hair system right now? I would love to get it off. What about SMP? And have that until I get through this period at work, conduct all of the research for a transplant, etc.?
  13. I am located in the South. Something in Houston would be great. I was in communication with Arocha, but they claimed that "most people do not have 3000 grafts to use" from their donor supply. Additionally, it would be upwards of 20 thousand. Thanks for this. I just want this damn hair system off my head, lol. Also, I'm coming into a period at work where I will not be able to travel/take time off between January and May. Which sucks, which is why I was hoping to get this done before then.
  14. Tragically, this is not covert promoting. I am reading everything you are all saying very carefully. I understand I am coming across as defensive... I more meant to provide my justification of why I originally went to this doctor, so you didn't think I picked a name out of a hat. I deeply appreciate all of your advice and words, and I fully recognize all of the concerns you are having. One reason why I was adamant was because this was a doctor I found who was amenable to my time table, was close-by, and reasonable in price. But, I was not 100% on this doctor. I would have given the money already if so. Your advice is sound - why risk the money and grafts on a doctor with no posted results when there are doctors with posted results who I know will complete the job to my liking? I just don't know where to go from here. I want this operation done yesterday, lol. I (obviously) am located in Louisiana. If I stuck to the list on this website, I would have to get on a plane. I don't have the luxury of being able to get on a plane anytime soon. I have been in contact with Dr. Nader, which would not be a terrible drive, but his communication is mediocre at best. I can barely even get ahold of their clinic. Any other recommendations would be appreciated.
  15. He has performing hair transplants for 20 years. I have been on finasterside and have been for four years. Additionally, I will add rogaine back to my regimen after the procedure. I currently cannot apply it due to the hair system.
  16. My hair grows underneath, it gets shaved every 3-4 weeks when it is reapplied. I really felt comfortable with Dr. Woessner. He seemed knowledgeable and confident, as well as understand with my situation. I went to many doctors, who quoted me between 1250-2000 grafts, which I know is ridiculous. I have corresponded with many clinics abroad who have quoted me more, and obviously are cheaper, but I would rather pay for a procedure I know the doctor is going to do. I also understand the potential of future hair loss. I want a conservative hairline. One that would look normal when I’m 30. Not the hairline of a 14 year old that is received in Turkey, etc. Also, I understand the need for a potential second procedure in the future. I agree that 2800 seems like the right amount to achieve this.
  17. Yes. I can’t always tell 100%, because like I said, I currently have a hair system. So, what now? I was excited but this thread sort of made me lose my excitement.
  18. Hi all, I am 24M and will be having a transplant procedure done at the clinic listed in the title. I have met with Dr. Woessner multiple times and have trust in him. I wanted to post the clinic here in case there are any glaring red flags I am missing. The clinics I went to quoted me for not as many grafts as I believed I needed, but Dr. Woessner was more on target and also was a more reasonable price then the other doctors I met with. I have apprehension going abroad to get a procedure. I am planning on getting 2800 FUE. I should be an interesting case study because I currently wear a hair system. Any input would be appreciated.
