  1. Same here. I had undiagnosed folliculitis on my facial hair… had a cyst surgically removed, and it left a scar. Then got other cysts since the underlying folliculitis wasn’t fixed… now I have like 5 sebaceous cysts on my face/neck, and don’t want them removed due to more scars. I’d get them removed if someone would use verteporfin. also my FUT scar formed a keloid lol. Have to hide it every day.
  2. Stop typing like that victor. It’s entirely too big and obnoxious. Nobody here should have to scroll through your giant text essay
  3. Kind of bummed out slow this all is as well. The below article on vert and scarring is over 2 years old, and still don’t even see many doctors interested in using it to prevent scarring https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/22/health/surgery-scar.html
  4. I had an FUT in 2017, and my scar seems to be a keloid (raised and wide…). I would be very interested in this. I am located in Boston.
  5. Agreed. Super stoked for this. if vert is everything i hope/cope it is, then I’ll have a full head of hair and in a couple years
  6. I would spend 60k for a perfect head of hair and my fut scar gone/unnoticeable
  7. Yea I know they said they saw regrowth, but I’m pessimistic oh how much there will be. While something like 10% would mean an extra 500ish grafts, it wouldn’t mean much to me who waited too long to get on fin. I hope the regrowth % of extracted grafts is very high
  8. After the fut trial we should have a definite answer on whether this works. I’m already 85% sold on it preventing scars…… but 50/50 on regrowing the removed grafts. That pessimism is largely due to being hyped than disappointed in the past. A few years ago I was certain the cure was here and it was Tsuji lol
  9. Well I’m more hopeful than I was several weeks ago. Holding off on fue’s until doctors use verteporfin and we have an idea of how much is ideal
  10. People are excited by that prospect because it would potentially mean a full head or hair as long as one stays on fin or dut
  11. Good news about the scarring. Maybe I can fix my fut keloid that sticks out like a sore thumb
  12. If this works I’ll be so happy, for both my hair and skin. Already have one keloid on my face from cyst removal. Have other cysts and haven’t gotten them removed as I don’t was to scar my face meow. Also have a keloid from my fut scar, and it’s a pain to cover up and smp didn’t stick to it. and I need more transplants as well. If I can regrow grafts and prevent scarring I’ll be set
  13. Been a month since the last update, excited to see if there have been any changes!
  14. Hey Dr…. Any interest on trying Verteporfin on a keloid FUT scar? I got one that makes me keep my hair longer and use hair fibers over it. I had 6 sessions of smp into that did nothing (did not stick). It’s kind of got my romantic life on hold for a while
  15. I’m starting to wonder if this will only be good for scarring, and not necessarily for graft regeneration. Oh well
  16. Yep, my Life is kind of on hold too in terms of dating. Big keloid scar from my fut, and thinning hair all over my scalp that I need hair fibers to cover up with, that I wouldn’t feel comfortable/capable trying to hide long term with a girl
  17. Middle of next week will put us at a month since the last update. And 5 months total!
  18. Mine has to be much longer and I still see a “line” where the hair falls over the scar. But my fut scar is a keloid. Sucks. I got like 6 sessions of SMP into but none of it stuck because the scar tissue is different than regular tissue
  19. Has this been brought up yet? What about sounding the scalp through micro needling….. then injecting verteporfin? Could that potentially regrow the hair? Instead of a transplant?
  20. So it’s been about a month since the last update pics? Hoping we will see some new ones soon!!
