@Wanderer93 Thanks for the note, I'm always curious to hear how effective it is as a lot of people claim it doesn't do anything.  I'll report back on my results if it turns out to be effective!

Best of luck. On the day i done it i applied minoxidil about 1-2 hrs prior to microneedling. I was told if applying after you can absorb to much minoxidil and side effects can be higher not sure how accurate this is .

@Wanderer93 Just curious, which device do you use for microneedling and at what depth/frequency?  And did you get results from it in the past?

Something else to keep on your radar, Latanoprost is being added to topical compounds by a few pharmacies.  I'm not sure if it's a non-hormone treatment though, I think it's still very new to the game and not a lot of people have used it yet due to cost.

Best of luck, and let us know how things go!

Hi mate i used a generic pen i found on amazon . I used 1.5mm once a week and found it quite helpful i noticed some regrowth as i had started to level out on my gains from medical treatments. Nothing spectacular but i found it helped. My scalp health in general seemed to improve when doing it also .

Just an FYI, I don't think it's recommended to be using topical finasteride or any topical DHT blockers when conceiving.  This exposes your partner potentially, which would be dangerous for the fetus.  That's why finasteride has the warning that even the tablets should not be handled or touched by pregnant woman.  If you talk to your doctor/dermatologist they'll tell you the same.  I would stick to stimulation therapy; if you can tolerate it without side effects perhaps try adding topical min (in addition to the oral). Microneedling could be beneficial too.

Yeah i will be staying clear of fin for that period of time. I have microneedled in the past so will add that back in. I also use topical min in the evening and oral in the morning. Thanks for the response

  4. Hi , myself and my partner are going to be trying for a kid in the near future and was wondering if anyone has an alternative to fin ? I have been told safest to stop 3 months prior to trying but would like to try and maintain my hair during this time. I take oral minoxidil so anything i can add whilst off the fin would be great thanks

  5. We have agreed to implant the beard grafts amongst my existing crown hair and to do some test grafts from scalp area to see how they heal. All going well i will return next year to add the scalp grafts .

No. They will not look natural on their own. Especially in the crown. You must feel that you have the confidence to ask your chosen surgeon any question. No matter how silly it may feel because their is no such thing as a silly question when it comes to life altering surgery. He/She needs to know your exact goals and concerns. All the best!

I do he has been very helpful i am just a worrier .he has reassured me many times that my donor will look great . I just get a bit of doubt every now and then after seeing some pictures of other people results from other clinics online were they can be seen . Hopefully i have minimal to no detectable scarring

Yes they will be visible because their is no scar free hair transplant. Having said that many people sport a buzz cut and they are not worried at all about the scars. For 500 scalp grafts it may not be enough to even worry you? As you say they may be spread out enough to avoid detection. I'm sure the average person on the street will never pick it because they are not looking for it. It also depends where in the scalp donor region the grafts are chosen from. All the best!

I was hoping with the spread over entire donor region that they would not be seen as they would not join up and create a large white empty area. I am in a tricky situation as i really enjoy having short hair but need a bit more hair at the crown . As soon as my donor hair grows beyond a 0 grade clipper it looks messy due to my hair texture. Would it be possible to solely use beard hair? My surgeon seems to think the 500 grafts will not be detectable am i just over worrying?thanks

  9. Hi guys booked in for my fue procedure in april to add some density to crown area. I have a skin fade back and sides and keep hair around 1/2 guard on top.

plan is to use 1000grafts (500 from beard to add density to crown and 500 from scalp )to help blend in the beard hairs. Will the 500 fue from scalp be visible when shaved down? Surgeon has said the will be equally spread over entire donor region.

    thanks

No scarring at all. 2 weeks later. I went to Dr Das @ Eugenix.  All positive as you see my photos. Yes they could use all body hair if necessary. Contact them for a virtual consultation.  They will get back to you fairly quick

I have previously spoke with them and they suggested 50/50 head and beard.
i am worried that scarring wouldnt allow me to shave the sides and have never really suited any other style.

  11. Hi guys,

contemplating getting my hair done had previously booked then covid meant i couldn't travel. So have been researching lots . I am a white male 29. On finasteride and minoxidil. Have maintained on my current regime. I have a high skin fade into a grade 1.5 on top i have crown loss/thinning. As i keep my donor hair area very short/shaved i was wondering about scarring and possibility of using beard/ body hair only in a transplant. I get my haircut every 3/4 days currently and would maintain this going forward. I have attached photos below showing my loss and haircut straight after a trim. My hair is naturally wirey/curly. When long is hard to style.

main question is will scarring be noticeable if scalp hair is used?

is using beard and body hair only an option?

He seems very conservative, he is only using manual punches and is doing low max amount of grafts per day. There are cases of him on the Spanish forums, but not many. I got the impression when I talked to him that he was not so interested in forums and marketing or fame, just wanted to do hair transplants the old fashioned way with manual punch and really focus on the individual, he reminds me alot of Dr Muttalip Keser, but more even more conservative. He told me that he likes doing multiple surgeries rather than many grafts in one sitting, which not all patients want but I accept his seriousness.

He answered me when I said many is doing 2-4 patients a day? "Why do you think?" I answered "For the $ of course" He said "Yes, FUE is supposed to be done with manual punches and 1 patient a day".

He have been doing hair transplant surgery for some 26+ years and teached some of the "most hyped" Drs in Spain today, like Dr Jose Lorenzo.

A photo in 2004 with Dr Seiadatan and Dr Lorenzo is watching.

    Recuperar tu pelo

Yeah that was the sort of vibe i got from him quality of quantity . He was very conservative and has mentioned previously about chance of loss being higher with large fue sessions.  I must say i liked how he spoke and didnt have a marketing schtick that so many other clinics i have spoken with

  13. So had a telephone call with dr seiadatan just there. Very helpful . Actually advised me to wait to over 30 and was very honest about donor scarring. Also was very informative on medication. Must say i got a good vibe from him. He told me even if i went elsewhere to get a doctor lead procedure . He invited me to his clinic the next time i am in spain also to come see the place .

To answer your first question, is Dr Seiadatan a good Dr? Yes he probably is, he is one of the pioneers of Spanish FUE, he teached the great Dr José Lorenzo.

What worries me is that there is not alot of cases out there for him.

If you are interested in Spanish Drs I would say that you should look at the Spanish forums, because of language barrier not many of the Spanish guys is here.

That said after som extensive research on the best Spanish & Portuguese Drs over the past months I can tell you my list.

Dr Juan Cuoto, Dr José Lorenzo, Dr Rafael De Freitas, Dra Felicidad Espinosa(1,5 years waiting list), Dra Cottellessa(she worked for De Freitas for a long time and she is basically doing the same approach as De Freitas), Dra Ximena Vila, Dr Antonio Burgos, Dra Meyer & Dr Alcaide.

One that is out of this list but I really start seeing amazing work from is also Dra Gabriela Ochoa at the Zira Clinic in Valencia. Her approach is also extremely similiar to De Freitas, maybe because Dra Cottellessa worked there before opening her own clinic.

The best for Portugal, Dr Bruno Pinto and Dr Bruno Ferreira. I am still doing research on Portugal, so have not really dug deep enough yet.

I would NEVER choose Turkey over Spain or Portugal.

    Best of luck.

Hi yeah i thought he was involved in that i noticed him doing seminars with other top doctors. Yeah i noticed there is not a lot of cases out there as well. Every review i can see online seems good but i like to look over physical cases. Can you point me to the spanish forums thanks

One and done never happens. Even Norwood 3s go for two usually.

I know but let me dream ive be advised around 1000-1500 grafts from 2 top surgeons. Ive been thinning since around 21. The last 18 months i have maintained and recovered been on fin around 3 years but have gradually added in other methods. Wish i would have started earlier and maybe i would have managed without. I get away with a small amount of concealer just to camouflage the area but want to be able to stop this to take away the reliance on them everyday

Yup 👍🏽 Turkey has very few Drs/Clinics that are worthy, Dr Bicer though does 1 patient per day, 22+ years experience and is very involved throughout the whole procedure. As well as being forum recommended she is revered/recommended on other international forums too. Lots of patient and clinic reviews here.
I have been deciding between Bicer and Eugenix the last couple of years, consulted with both. However it will be my 6th ht and I’m not in any rush 😂

6th jeez im hoping im one and done I keep my hair very short so if i can even out my crown density and maintain i would probably add smp in a few years to .

I know i'm probably opening a hornets nest here but what is the issue with the IAHRS?

They seem to generally come across where  is concerned and  as guys that generally care about patients and integrity. I felt their entire reputation and premise is based on only accepting people with a track record of results and patient care.

So what made you say some of the worst Doctors are on their list and who specifically?

I had mine reserved for March. I just didn't think i was going to get my Visa in time and moved it to May. Originally i paid £450ish directly with Virgin for near the end of mid March then moved to mid May and paid like a £2 difference around February 11th.

I checked again and those same £450 flights in March a week ago were like £900. The one's in May are now £600+.

So i 100% get where you're coming from. The whole international travel requirements have changed and hopefully its going to get easier without a pre-departure COVID test needed but i think you have to arrange one on arrival.

It's a shame you're a bit schedule bound but really hope you find somebody who can get you the quality you're looking for.

I recently just re-arranged the holidays with work i need to book for May so fingers crossed no more changes.

See i need end of march as it allows me to use holidays from two financial years to get enough time off. My holidays through the year get eaten up due to family so that allows me a good couple of weeks ar home to recover
