as long as you have a generous donor, your hairloss is stable, you are on meds, and you aren't bad off to begin with (NW4 or less) I see no reason why patients can't be future proofed.

Wouldn't everyone want one big surgery as opposed to chasing multiple transplants over a few decades?

I'm sure a lot of people want this but again, no clinic recommends it, this is actually the first time I've encountered a case like this. Bloxham just seems to be so skilled in his craft, if i were rich he would be on top of my list of handling my hairloss.

  2. So I've been watching a lot of hair transplant media and i came across this video by Bloxham with a patient who has minor side recession. He then proceeded to transplant 3,200 grafts on the guys frontal half, who is in his late 20s. The results looked amazing. His reasoning was if the guy thinned out in the future he would still be happy with the graft transplanted.

I rarely see doctors do this, transplant on an area of the hair where there's still reasonable density. Why do you guys think that is? Is it because of their skills? Or experience? Is it on a case by case basis? Permanent shock loss?

Listen to this.^ I waited from 25 until 30 and it was the best decision in my case. I was Norwood 1 until 24 - maybe slight crown thinning. By 30 I was a Norwood 6. Take meds (if you can), live life without worrying about hair and revisit the issue in half a decade / decade or so.

By then you'll have saved up money, done more research and are less prone to aggressive loss. It seems to be worst for most suffers of hair loss in their early 20s. Trust us bro, there is more to life than hair

Jesus that must've been brutal, and scary from norwood 1 to norwood 6 that fast? Wow.

Turkey Hair Transplant Clinics Tip + Am I even eligible?

Hi, I am seeking tips for good quality clinic in Turkey, budget Im looking for is **3-6000 EUR**, either using all-inclusive packages or I can organise myself accommodation and transport and pay only for clinic services. Very important for me is to have either online consultation about possible results or I can even fly out to turkey to have in-person consultation. Preferably if the transplant will be made by doctor himself and not some random un-qualified people. **Planning to get transplant around march**

**Other thing is question - Am I even eligible and which transplant method should I use? Iam ready to have 1-2 transplants(3-6000€ per transplant budget wise)**

    **Something about me:**

    26 years old male - European-Asian

3 year **minoxidil foam 5%** (not really responsing too much besides mini hair on forehead which wont get stronger, also my hair structure changed to more curly hair and sometimes very irregular+hard shape. Had a pause so now been using continuously for around 1.5 year.

**1 year finasteride 1.25mg (I would say it slowed down process or maybe reversed it a little as well).**

**Using good quality shampoo and conditioner everyday(**

**Can anyone advise best transplant method for me and approximate amount of grafts?**

In case of hair transplant, does turkey doctors give you needed prescription like finasteride or atleast can you buy it there? Im buying in second hand now since my doctor wouldnt prescribe me.

    My pictures are here:

First of all, i am not an expert, these advices are just based on my own research and they may be terrible advice based on your case but i will still try my best. Okay so, that looks like a good donor density. You could probably focus on your frontal area with about 3 to 3.5k grafts to future proof that area, its still better to listen to what a good doctor recommends, its also important to make it clear to them what your goals are, do you want full density? Mid density where you don't really care if it's that thick? Do you want to focus up on the hairline first or do you want the grafts spread out from front to crown (You have a high chance of losing all that hair at the top since youre young, and you've already lost a lot, but if you could take fin for the rest of your life then it might stay like that for a loong time maybe you won't even progres anymore, I don't really know.) The important thing is to do your research. you could start by checking this website's recommended surgeons, and organizations like the IAHRS. Most importantly look at reviews and results from actual people, you can search for the doctor's name here or other places look at how they build the hairline, do they put a lot of multi grafts in front? If they do, steer clear from those clinics. Go to youtube and search for the hair transplant mentor, or Mr. Rolandas they have some great advices.

  5. This may be the stupidest question in this forum but here it goes. I have seen some babies with different types of hair pattern, ive even seen some norwood 4s 5's and 6's, so I'm just wondering. Has there been studies between the connection of a baby's hair pattern to the adults final hair pattern? Maybe you guys can take a look at your baby pictures and maybe discredit or validate this hypothesis. 😄

    Mate,

I remember when you were researching and had decided on a place until you came here. I'm glad that you made the right choice. You look amazing. As for the scar, yes it's not ideal. But some FUE into the scar would improve it alot.

    Hey all 7 months & 1 week

I am currently in Bangkok, working remotely (I'm in software). Dropped by Dr Path's office for a follow up and they took some photos.

    Scar

They measured the scar and it was 4mm - which I believe is actually not great and on the larger size. I don't know what is normal here but that seems a bit large.

Hasson & Wong and Feller & Bloxham cite their benchmark at a 1mm scar but I have seen that even they have some wider outcomes (saw 15mm by F&B on here). I think younger people are more likely to have wider scars due to having more flexible scalps.

I'm a bit disappointed not to have a scar that would give me more flexibility to wear my hair shorter but in the end, I look so much better after the surgery - even if the scar is wider than I'd hoped.

If it's super noticeable I might consider SMP or maybe a follow up surgery to fill in my crown a bit and fix up the scar.

    Results

Other than a larger than desirable scar, the results are incredible so far. I still have 5 months until I hit the 12 month mark. I don't know for sure, but I assume things slow down in terms of gains from here - so I shouldn't expect much more.

I'm leaning more in more to have my transplant with Dr. Path with these kind of patient results, i do hope he's pretty good with diffused thinners as well like me. An update would also be nice. I'm happy for you too, and also jealous. I bet it just does wonders to your confidence to know you have that kind lf hair now.

My first Hair Transplant procedure was done 10 years ago in Year 2011 with Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich.

It was a 3443 Grafts FUT - Focus only on frontal coverage as i was born with a super high hairline (half of the head) it resolved the receding hairline and gave a better hairline  :)

10 years ago there was only 1 female surgeon who does Hair Transplant in Singapore and during the consultation i wasn't convince she can do the job as she told me what she want me to have rather than what i want to have :D Hence, i researched and found Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich :) The first Hair Transplant procedure was as good but it was FUT which i don't have the courage to do FUT again as compared to FUE :)

Your frontal hair looks very thin right not in my opinion for 3.4k grafts. What's your take on this, I'm considering doctor path as well.

Once again it is about the body of work. You don't just get that from this forum, or some doctor's website, or some list of doctors for that matter. Search all forums, all social media, all websites and find real life examples of work that has been done.

This forum does not just push member doctors. There are many many doctors that have been discussed and even recommended on this forum that are not members.

Just as an example, I chose to go with Eugenix well before they were ever members of this forum based on all the positive feedback from multiple forums, reddit, facebook, youtubers, etc... My only point here is that you can't just go with a doctor's name on a list. That is how critical mistakes are made

That's all good and all but people cannot be dismissive right away when they don't see patient reviews for a certain doctor on any forums.  This guy is from thailand, who knows maybe there are Thai written reviews out there that we dont know about and like I said, people in general who are happy with their results don't go around forums to express their happiness. Also, just because he owns a machine doesn't mean he always uses it, maybe he fell for the hype and had money and then bought it but realized it isn't good enough, if you go to his website, he displays that artas and fue as different types of procedures. People cannot also be dismissive of credentials, he's a member of the IAHRS for a reason, JT, the hairtransplant mentor, said that if we are looking for a surgeon, the iahrs and this forum is a great place to start. Also, the list that he's talking about was supposedly made by a guy who's had 13 hair transplants, who's visited every clinic of the people he named there. I agree to not put too much stock in those lists but the Doctor's name coming up in that list, him being a member of the IAHRS and him having a lot of before and after photos on his site is not something to just be dismissive about.

Huge difference, you've got real people posting real results here vs some random list of top doctors which doesn't have that. It is the body of work that you want to research and discover, not a name on a list. Know the difference dude.

Oh yeah i know the difference, you've got people who post here, who are a small minority, who puts too much stock on their member doctors and are quick to dismiss others who aren't lol, the man is a member of the IAHRS and has many many posted results on his website, but he doesn't have his patients posting here and he has artas so he probably isn't very good. People who've had a successful hair transplant usually don't seek out forums to post their great results, they just move on with their lives.

Never heard of the guy, but in general, never put all your stock on any list. Many surgeons have made many lists, doesn't mean they are the right choice, or even a good choice. There are recommended doctors right from this forum that I'd put much more stock in. I did a search on your doctor and found nothing on this forum. I also searched online and can already tell you he's not a good choice. He is using ARTAS for extractions which is NOT A GOOD OPTION! Don't put your trust in anything robotic when it comes to any hair transplant procedure. I've seen more results that are below standard with ARTAS in the mix. STEER CLEAR, and explore other options.

Follow my Journey with Eugenix and Dr Arika Bansal!

"Never put all your stock on any list" proceeds then to reference that he searched and valued if he was mentioned in this forum, which has its own lists of doctors.

    Henry,

i’m not sure the last time you checked in but from what I can tell based on your photos and the personal details you shared, you do seem like a good candidate for a hair transplant.

Out of curiosity, when you started noticing signs of hair loss when others didn’t yet, is there a reason you didn’t start taking Propecia and minoxidil then?  Since both medications, especially when used in conjunction with one another are typically pretty effective at slowing down, stopping and even reversing the effects of male pattern baldness, it’s best to take them as early in your hair loss experience as possible.  Because If they were effective before anyone could even tell you were experiencing hair loss, you might not even have needed hair transplant surgery.

Luckily, you did start taking the medication pretty early and you still have a significant amount of natural hair. Hopefully the medication will be effective for you and in conjunction with surgical hair restoration you could restore a very full looking head of hair.

if you were interested in a one on one information session with Dr. Rachel, please don’t hesitate to send me a private message and I’ll be happy to set this up for you.

    Best wishes,

    Rahal Hair Transplant

I was stupid. I was alarmed that i was losing hair but i didn't know anything about it, i thought it was just natural and since nobody else noticed it, I didn't do anything about it, not even a single research.

Thank you for the offer and for the reply.

  12. Here are facts about me and my hairloss

    -I'M 30 years old

-Started thinning at about 20 years old but only noticeable to me, only got noticeable to other people at the age of 29

-Father and mother side, no one is completely bald, father is norwood 3 with thin hair when he was 45.

    - I'm on Propecia and Minoxidil once a day since august. Willing to take it forever.

-Hair transplant expectations: full frontal coverage, maybe have a hairstyle with bangs.

(Short hair pictures are recent, longer hair pictures are from july to october.)

Thought I would share some pics of my recent procedure with Dr Laorwong.

As you can see I had a massively receded hairline which I had hidden for years with hats or an average comb over.

    Some stats;

    • 43 years old
    • Finasteride for over 15 years – with no side effects
    • Loniten for over 15 years – an oral version of minoxidil, only side effect is total body hair growth 😊
    • I have a large head so surface area compared to others should be considered when comparing to others :)
    • I chose the higher hair line due to my age, my starting point and due to always having a high hair line

Shout out to Hristo13 for posting and providing me with the courage to go ahead and for answering my questions.

Procedure went well, no pain, sleeping was easy – was a long day though and got increasingly uncomfortable in the chair…old man bones seizing up. Flew out back to Australia 2 days after the procedure and had no discomfort flying…and only 1 overzealous security guard making me take off the bandana – the shock on his face though said he wish he hadn’t.

Overall a good experience and I would recommend it.

I am 1 month post procedure and the shed has commenced so I will post again once I get some growth.

Thank you to Melvin for your time and efforts to keep this forum running and to all who share – it truly makes a positive impact.

We need updates.. it's all good though if you don't feel like posting.. . Lol..  you don't owe us anything..

  14. We are about the same age and about the same type of hair loss, receding hairline and just diffused thinning all over the top, what people suggested me is go on medication for at least a year and then re evaluate. Sent my pictures with clinics in thailand and india and the Philippines (where I'm from) and, eugenix was the only clinic that kind of rejected me saying I don't need transplant at this point and to just go on medication.. all others quoted me from 1800 to 2.5k grafts... Also, here's more of a personal suggestion, from my experience, just shave it all off while you're doing you're research and medical therapy, being stuck in that middle ground where you're trying to hide the balding is actually the worst place to be in my opinion, and the worst look aesthetically, you will almost always look better bald (shaved) than the receding hairstyle.

  15. I think almost every single person on earth loses a certain number of hairs as they age. In your case it's really barely noticeable. But if you have family members that are bald or thin hair then you might want to start on medication now. Finasteride is the big one. You should at least try it for 6 months, i heard the side effects are mainly psychological or sometimes just goes away after a while.

It’s impossible to answer these questions because we don’t have any pre & post ops to estimate grafts, & you’re narrowing the criteria from which we can judge with caveat after caveat, which sort of makes me feel like you’re looking for a specific answer.

I also note the hairline shape/design looks remarkably similar to the other thread you made asking if it looked like a natural design.

    Is this you?

I did post the other thread, I'm not the one on the picture though, these results are from a clinic that I'm looking at. Also, I'm not looking for any particular answers. I'm just looking for answers really, I've given all the details that i could, I've included pre and post op pictures and number of grafts, and all the hypotheticals, and yet most people just gave me a really safe answer. I get that it's complicated, i know that but we are not doctors here (most of us arent), i just want some opinions based on first impressions, and hypotheticals.

  17. 40 minutes ago, NARMAK said:

Firstly it could be a combination of medication not being taken, leaving native hair transplanted behind to look that sparse. Another factor could be the lighting making it look like that. There's also a possibility the person used hair fibres in one picture but not another.

When people talk about hair transplants and the "Illusion of Density" this is sometimes what they might mean if it was a case of the lighting exposing the lesser density in sunlight.

Ultimately without knowing all the facts surrounding the hair transplants and the person's medication history, it's hard to paint an accurate picture of what possibly went wrong in terms of visuals between the two.

Let's just base our analysin on hypotheticals. He wasn't using fibers, he was on medication but probably stopped, he got 3 transplants because he says he was still progressing, he was 29 after the 3 transplants. If let's say the doctor warned him that he might still progress his hairloss and might need another surgery, would you say the doctor acted ethically? Also mainly i just wanted to get you guys opinion if the remaining transplanted hair looked like 2k to 2.5k grafts. He only had work done on his hairline and midscalp

  18. Can you help me analyze who was at fault here? This guy had a 3 small FUE procedures totalling about 2 to 2.5k grafts, the first picture was his before (any procedures) and after..  now the the next 2 pictures are what his hair looks like now, it obviously thinned out, would you say this is the patients fault for maybe not taking medication ( I don't know for sure but it might be his balding has progressed)  or the clinic for not doing a great job, but still even if it thinned out, those results doesn't look like 2k grafts to me.

I wanna thank you for all your concern but I'm not doing anything at the moment, im just doing some research. I just want to know if the clinic that im looking at knows what they're doing when it comes to just the hairline design.
