Seems like a pretty hasty recommendation. Personally I think we should see way more than a years worth of results, before a clinic can be added to the list. In order to avoid another mistake.

I think the standard you should base on is of yourself, from what your research shown.
To begin with, we do not have a certain standard of "grafts must be ____", "treatment require ____", "everything should be done by doctor", etc.
Take the member's and forum recommendation with a grain of salt, if you think they are a good fit, you can go forward with it, otherwise you're just going because 'other people said so!'. Do your own research and reach your own decision.i get your point, but to ascertain them we'll need a standard to begin with. people could say "doctors who are ethical!", but everyone have different opinion on ethics.
i get your sentiments though, the reason at times i say the many forum members are biased is because of what you said, where if it's a hair mill that got a great result, "you got lucky", and if a great clinic have a poor result, "there should be an underlying condition, or bad luck of one in a hundred case". While there are truth to these sentiments, they are not always the case. The topic of ethics is another issue I have. Again, surgeons are lauded on here for being ethical. They are doctors who earn obscene money. Being ethical shouldn't be seen as some gold standard, it should be seen as the bare minimum!

Just a random thought whilst lurking the forum and sipping my coffee. We sing from the rooftops when a good result is achieved, praise the amazing clinic or surgeon. Yet when a poor result is achieved, it's more often than not blamed on physiology, patient regimen or the mysterious 'x factor'. Sure in some circumstances this might be the case. But I'm not sure if I'm buying it completely. We've seen the consistency surgeons are able to achieve from the likes of Konior, De Freitas and Bisanga. Are they just lucky and always get patients who don't have the mysterious 'x factor'? I don't think so. But as long as we continue to excuse or glaze over poor to average results, sub standard clinics will never be forced to raise their games.

@Melvin- Moderator you can't seriously think this is anywhere near good enough for 5k grafts? The level of protection for this Dr is getting ridiculous now. Like myself and dozens of others across various forums, OP has used up a large amount of his available grafts for nothing but a slight improvement. Not to mention the time and money. Honestly astounds me he continues to be recommended.

+1 to the above comment, from someone who regrets not travelling abroad for my procedure. The short trip to Belgium or Spain is an absolute no brainer.

Great, glad to see they gave you a refund very ethical on their part. Excellent choice on choosing Arshad. I hope you create a journey on here. I would love to follow your progress.
Yeah, it was very good of HLC. @Melvin-Moderator I will definitely detail my journey on here, I'm booked in for Tuesday. An exciting/nervous wait!

As far as I know it's fixed at £3 per graft, they do offer some good interest free finance options though

Oh really? Did you have trouble getting your deposit back? Also when is the earliest you could get an appointment with Dr Arshad?
Nope, HLC were very understanding regarding travel restrictions and are giving me a full refund. Managed to book an appointment with Dr Arshad for 16th March.

Still planning on the 25th March? I've just read that a woman managed to travel for a boob job with a medical exemption form claiming back ache and anxiety as reasons for needing the procedure. I think all of us can cite anxiety for a reason. Might be worth a try, at least then it's not illegal and you're not at risk of a fine. Only issue is, I can't find out where you apply for these. Will require some further digging.
I've cancelled and booked a procedure with Dr Arshad in the UK instead (After reading lots of good reviews). Takes away the stress of travel restrictions, I think it's highly unlikely we will be able to travel in March anyway.

From what I understand you can travel with a medical visa.
Any clue how someone can obtain a medical visa?

Yeah, it's very frustrating they don't clarify what is deemed as legal travel. I read somewhere that it's down to the carrier to decide who can travel. So might be worth contacting your airline.

Hi, I'm scheduled for an FUE procedure with HLC on the 25th March. UK citizens are not allowed to travel for holidays, but I'm wondering whether anybody has already travelled or knows whether we can travel for cosmetic surgery?
Thanks in advance

No, but it has to do with adding surgeons to the list too quickly. This Dr might turn out to be elite, but surely that has to be proved with more than 10 patient results and some results cherry picked by the clinic. A higher level of protection is needed for patients who put a lot of faith in your recommended surgeons list.
