  1. Hi ,

i intend to have a HT in near future , i have diffuse thinning in frontal area ..

so i learned that PRP can help to lower shock loss for native hair in recipent area and have faster grow for transplanted hair .

my question is what's best time to do it , just before the HT , or after like 2 weeks after the HT

  2. Some clinics do the hairline drawing  a day before the actual OP day .

That gives the patient enough time to think about the hairline over night .

Although i can see that clinic gave you enough time to think about the hairline , but it's always better for patient to think about the hairline he want before the OP day , so you can discuss all ideas you have with surgeon .

before deciding the hairline , when you raise your eyebrows as much as you can ,  you will know where muscles end so hairline can be placed with a safe distance above that  .

To be honest , your hair line looks to be in a perfect position with nice symmetry "regardless of what your original hairline looked like" and you are having awesome grow rate at 4th month .

I do get that some details may not be clearly visible in the pictures , however for people looking at you in real life they won't be noticing these details as well .

  3. minoxidil and finasteride works through different mechanism .

so if you intend to use both , why do you plan to switch from topical  minoxidil/fin mix to only topical fin .  ? you shall continue using minoxidil .

there's finasteride gel sold i heard .. people may use the mix of finasteride/fin for convivence of applying

    1 mixed solution ..

  4. my skin is light brown , so i believe redness will not stay long .. it's sunny where i live so sunlight exposure will be an issue ..

I read that chromatophores cells responsible for pigmentation dies after HT and it takes months to regenerate , so i guess even if redness is gone , i still have to avoid sun light , right ?

so what i meant by the duration it takes for HT to be undetectable , is marks like "redness , donor healing"  aside from transplanted area regrowth part which may take longer time ..

  5. HI ,

i've been reading different estimations about time needed for HT recovery , so i appreciate if members who did had HT before to share their experience ..

specifically i'm asking about below points :

    - When redness can disappear .

    - donor area recovery .

    - what time is safe to return to sport , specifically gym , swimming , cycling

    - what time to start using hair loss serums after the procedure ..

    - after what time it's safe to be subjected to direct Sun light .

    - what time after which new grafts can be considered secured in place .

    - after what time there's no sign that you had a HT

  6. I guess you should have someone less take pics of your hair in macro mode , using a high-end camera or a mobile in a lighting mode that reveal the details you mentioned above .

Because it's hard to see the points you highlighted in the post using the pics you uploaded .

I know it's tricky , i face the same issue when trying to send pics for a consultation that really reflect current situation .

I think these two points can't be emphasized enough for HT at Eugenix and HT in general. If this is your very first HT, please take some time to draw a rough hairline and play around with the design until you get what you like. Although I was given enough time and a couple of options during the design phase of my HT, it would have been better if I was prepared with a rough design beforehand. This is especially true when you have a frontal/temporal HT and changing this later will be very tricky.

In addition to that , during one of consultations i made , i sent a pic with hairline i have in mind drawn .

that makes a big difference in giving more accurate estimation of number of grafts needed , also it help you adjust the hairline in advance ,

my original hairline is more like a u-shape "pointing downwards" rather than the  classic V-shape , i drew  what my original hairline looks like , so medical assistance emailed me back that hairline angels at the sides shall be more straight .

Transplants should never be done with the support of medicines. Even for people for whom it works ,they will eventually lose finastride dependant hair and in my opinion ,one has to be dependant on and conservative with what can be done with permanent hair from donor and beard only. Doing fut will allow more scalp donor hair and consequently more beard  hair to be used for obvious reasons. But thing with fue clinics doing norwood 6 is that HT is too dependant on finastride. I am still trying to understand how much unsafe donor area is eugenix using for norwood 6 and where they are placing those unsafe grafts which are inevitably going to be lost. But the good thing is that they seem to be doing more with less grafts which might help them to avoid unsafe donor area altogether.

The HT i saw for Eugenix "donor pics"  , they usually rely on safe zone ... I saw pics for other top  surgeons  which get grafts from unsafe zone and save grafts for future , but at the same those surgeons refuse to do the HT without finasteride even for low NW levels .

  9. I believe Maz is correct , if you use singles in many layer in hairline zone , you may end up with see through hairline which is not the best according  to my taste ..

I believe irregularities  you have is good even in this early stage  , the while idea of having irregularities  is not to have a hairline that look like it's drawn with a ruler .

I guess it's hard to have more irregularity in your case with a u-shape hairline  , if you are having more straight hairline they may do more macro-irregularities .

  10. Thanks for sharring your results , i belive you will have amazing results specially you have a very good starting point

I'm curious why you choose non-shaved method .

if transplanted hair faces  initial shock loss in the first 1-3 months , you may have apparent different in look between transplanted and non-transplanted areas .

I saw some people eventually trim the whole head to keep it consistent .

I spoke with Dr Pradeep on Sunday. He told me that you only need one week of hair growth on the scalp. Same with the beard. However it is obviously an advantage to have your normal hair style to give an indication of how your natural hair pattern grows. I have sent them lot of pictures of what my hair was like five years ago when I had hair! 😂 I stopped shaving my scalp 12 days ago and I will continue to grow it up until January 16th. All the best.

I just added 16th Jan to my calendar :)

    All the best ..

  12. I believe it's the opposite , surgeon can see clearly density of your hair grafts when hair is short as well as bald spots , long hair can partially camouflages that ..

Can anyone correct me here if i'm wrong ?

  13. I believe the best thing to do is to have evaluation by Eugenix , they usually finish it within few days and it's a free online consultation .

you shall submit recent photos from all angels to have accurate evaluation , from results i saw as well as members feedback ,  they are the best in advanced NW cases .

After that i believe you shall ask for a VC with the surgeon you choose "Dr Arika or Dr Sethi" so you can directly talk to  them and get to know what's your options , what can you expect of a HT if you are a good candidate .

the point is  one can be a valid candidate for a HT but not an ideal candidate , so in that case you should proceed with HT only if you have realistic expectations .

It would be great if you can share evaluation results as it can help community members with similar hair characteristics like you  understand what  HT can achieve .

  14. had you tried medications , like minoxidil ..

I mean your are not a complete NW 6 , you still have some hair which in addition to transplanted hair can give good coverage .

your frontal pic specially  looks good

  15. As far as i know , if surgeon make incision where an  old follicle exist  , that will cause transection and damage to existing graft "check at 1:15" , that risk can be minimized via using proper magnification tools . and you may ask your surgeon is it worth waiting for pulled follicles to regrow , or if he can identify them at this moment .

I believe 4,5 hair will not make difference in cosmetic look even if you are planting low grafts "200" ..
