If I knew now what I knew then I would never have had a hair transplant at all. I would have shaved my head. End of story. My recent hair transplant was more about hiding the scars and damage from the first surgeries when I was a kid as it was about hair. If I didn’t have the scars from this now I would have stuck with my shaved head and SMP. No drugs, shampoo, hair cuts, thousands and thousands of dollars spent, etc. Surgery is always a last resort. I strongly suggest you consider going down this path rather than having surgery. All the best!

I tried shaving my head, and I looked fine, but I am sure I look better after the hair transplant. There are great doctors nowadays, but it is not like fixing your teeth to improve the way they look; it is a long process that requires lifelong discipline.

I agree that finasteride is a tricky medicine that works differently depending on your body; working out, stress and mental health, in general, make a big difference in your sexual "performance". It is difficult for some people to find the right combination, others don't have any side effects, and the lucky ones get great results without side effects.

  3. I got the premium package for my first operation, but since I got my operation they have hired new doctors that I met in Nov 2021 and they were quite good. If you have doubts, I would ask about the CV and experience of the doctors, although Eugenix always plays safe and hire senior doctors and give them the training so they are sure that they follow the procedure to match the results of the previous doctors. Dr Arika is awesome, the hardest working doctor I have ever met, and her technique is impressive, probably that is the reason why her rate is higher.

So I met Dr Pradeep today… I spent fully 4 hours with him! I think I’m now officially a Eugenix consultant, bordering on surgeon!! 🤣

Dr Pradeep is a super playful and fun character, full of love and joy. He was genuinely made up when seeing my transplant progress. I think he took about 60 or 70 videos! I abandoned my 2.30pm bus back to Bristol and took a train at 5pm…  my appointment was at 12.30 pm 😅. Dr P wouldn’t let me leave! 🤣

Dr Pradeep had no real concerns over some of the issues I’d mentioned previously. He felt strongly that things were looking great and that some things needed more time to really see (some angulation on the left side may improve with a bit more length & weight to the hair - we’ll see!). What I will say is that I’ve been increasingly less bothered by the things I’d mentioned previously as time has passed, and after meeting Dr P feel even less bothered or concerned!

One thing Dr P did do was offer me a small 2nd pass in the areas behind the hairline, either side of my old dying forelock to add some more density, and maybe a small amount of closure in the temple corners. He estimated around 500 grafts + a small number for the corners and this would be “on him”. Absolute legend. You can’t help but feel loved & looked after with Dr P! Also, he reckons he could easily take another 4-5K from the donor and 1-2K from the beard for future needs, which is great to hear!

I got to meet a number of prospective patients as well as some ex patients who, like me, had dropped by. One such former patient was none other than the man himself, @juanjs84

Juan & his partner were both absolutely lovely, and I can tell everyone first hand that his HT results are insane! Never in a million years would you detect a HT! It’s so natural looking. Incredible!

I also received overwhelmingly positive feedback from other patients & people thinking of getting a HT regarding my own results, which was really nice.

Basically, I had a very different day to what I expected when I turned up - it was a LOT of fun!

It was great meeting you too! It is always fun meeting Dr Pradeep. I think your results are great; congrats!

Meeting new clients made me remember my doubts before the operation. I hope I helped those I spoke with and as always, please write if you have doubts and think I can be of any help.

  5. Hi all!

@George Clooney thanks for your find words! You are right, the procedure was on 11/20/21.

My hair growth, in general, has been prolonged, and I have seen that my nails also are not growing much, so last week, I started taking vitamins to work on it. I got my first haircut yesterday since the procedure, so I thought about sharing the pics. I think I will need a few months more to see a real change. I will try to post photos in a month to see if the vitamins are helping.

If you were deemed to be a non candidate, why make all these plans? Oh, but wait.  You are tightly shaven...Sometimes this kind of gets in the way and the doctor may think you have poor donor when in reality the opposite is the case. Other times, and it's likely to be the case, you may be  experiencing some degree of thinning in donor which would result in subsequent thinning of the grafts.  So, my first suggestion, let your hair grow and reassess.  The second thing, take advantage of this time and get on a medical regimen, (Propecia, Rogaine, PRP, Laser). Do them religiously for 1 year and reassess.  If you do improve, you may end up having more options.

Be patient, follow the advice of @LaserCaps and meet more doctors, as @Gatsby says. Recently I met a guy who wanted to get a hair transplant, and the first advice I gave him was to start some medical treatment to improve his hair quality.

I'd be in Valencia which is where Dr. De Freitas is located. I'm gonna get my receded temples filled in and maybe have my hairline lowered like half a centimeter though not sure if I'll have to compromise on that second part. I was thinking of getting a hotel for like 3 weeks or a month but hotel rooms are like 100 a night which is fine but definitely adds up when you're there for a month. Do you know where I could get a cheap room for like 30-70? I was maybe thinking of bringing someone with me just cause Valencia is supposed to be really nice in May and maybe with that third week of vacation, I can do stuff now that the grafts are anchored

Yeah I read that CoL in Spain is super cheap... like a few hundred euros for a place and I work a job where I can work remotely 100% of the time... I'm really starting to think I should move to Spain instead of paying out the wazoo here in Toronto.

Check rentalia, you will find apartments for 1000 € three weeks

I've got a date booked for mid-May 2022 and I've been pondering exactly how long I should stay.

I was thinking I would stay at least a couple of weeks if not three weeks just so I can go in for cleaning and in case there are complications from the transplant. I figured if I do three weeks, I might be able to spend a bit more time in Spain and do some touristy stuff.

The concern though is that if I'm staying in a hotel for a 3 weeks or a month that it starts getting quite expensive

I left the next day after my second surgery, but when I planned my first surgery, I stayed longer. If it is your first transplant, you should wait for a week because you will be concerned about the smallest things. Check small hotels; they are usually cheaper.

    Hey all

My donor looks to be rather damaged from my first transplant. So going for my second transplant I might need to use a mix of my beard as well - probably with Eugenix

Do they look reasonably natural? I've not come across many examples of beard to head transplants

    thank you for your input

Talking from my personal experience, they look natural (nobody has told me what's wrong with my hair), but there is some difference in growth and how they feel when you touch them. The doctors must mix them with scalp hair properly. In my case, 20% of my transplanted hairs came from my beard, all in the crown area.

@Wanderer93I don't imagine you would have to tell your GP. I just told mine that I was getting a hair transplant in India and they want a report for some blood work. One thing to watch out for though. I showed them them the list of things that Eugenix requested. When I sent my results to Eugenix today I was told that two of them were missing. So I have to go back now to my GP and get another blood test referral and do it again for a couple of items. Make sure they understand what items are exactly on the list. All the best!

In my case I went to a lab with the list that Eugenix provided me and they did a blood test that was including all that they were requesting.

Hi guys new poster here have decided on my clinic eugenix and paid deposit hoping to travel in march from uk . Thinning to crown and doing a mix of beard and scalp into it to thicken it up. Question is can anyone help me with whats required travelling to india. Clinic has said the will provide necessary documents for a medical visa and that my partner can also travel on this with me. Live in glasgow so will be going via Heathrow to delhi. Anyone who has made the trip recently would be much appreciated if you could share whats required thanks

One month back, I went to India from Heathrow with an e-Medical visa. The official website is https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html, and you need this:

    • Scanned Bio Page of the passport showing the Photograph and Details
    • Copy of letter from the Hospital concerned in India on its letterhead, which includes the date / tentative date which admission have been suggested.

I did a PCR test before travelling, but I would double-check with the airline if it is required because India and the UK agree to recognise the vaccination card. I think you can skip it if you are fully vaccinated. I got vaccinated in Spain, so to avoid issues, I got the PCR test done.

Anyways, if you need help, drop me a message, and I will try to help.

    Hey Juan,

No worries. I figured you were tired. Hope your second HT went well!

I’m doing well. Got my head wash tomorrow then flying out! Will post my experience soon.

I am sure you will get great results! I will have to do my own first head wash, please let know how they do it in the clinic. They have sent me a video, but I would like to know how they do it in real life.
