Hi all

I’ve had some great consults over the past year and finally made the decision to book a procedure. However the more consults you do, it seems that the decision on which procedure and who to go with starts to become very difficult. I am currently 37 and on Finasteride 1mg EOD and using Minoxidil once per day on the crown.  Definitely feel like a NW 6 is what the final end point wants to become. I’ve narrowed down my choices and leaning towards an FUE with Dr. Wong or Shapiro. Any transplant vets that might have gone FUE first and regretted as things progressed? I currently wear the hair very short with my hair loss pattern. Thanks for any advice!

Been searching for a McGrath FUE result. Very interested to follow! Live here in Austin as well. 
Do you mind sharing some details on the procedure? Was McGrath the one doing all the extractions? How many Techs worked on you? 

Are there any of you guys or experts out there that have had a transplant and currently taking TRT (Testosterone)? Also are you on finasteride? Been battling hair loss a long time and thinking about taking the transplant plunge. However, I also think there is a strong chance I’ll want to be on TRT next 5 or 10 years.

I had Exosomes around 5 months ago with McGrath.  10 cc's over the entire scalp.  Unfortunately no results.  I know they are having some patients respond really well but I also know there a plenty of non responders out there as well.  We'll see if anything happens in the coming months but as of today it was a huge waist of money.

I guess I still don’t understand why Hasson and Wong is the only clinic saying this with Minox? Every other Hairtransplant Surgeon seems to prefer both Finasteride and Minox be used.

Man I’ll tell you. I was in your exact shoes in my twenties and early thirties. Thankfully I didn’t get a transplant because at 36 my hair loss  rapidly progressed to now a diffuse NW 6. No idea what your age is but I assume your young. Just keep it in mind! Your hair looks good now. Good luck researching!

Your hair looks great man. Enjoy it and do what you can to keep it without surgery. My hair probably looked like that at 19. 37 now and it’s a totally different story. 

Wanted to give 2 month update. Top is before Exosomes and bottom is two months after. Nothing there that I can tell. Going back In two months for another follow up.

Never mind saw you were 8 months out.  Bummer sorry to hear. May be on the same path unfortunately.

I agree that results will vary from patient to patient.  My problem is with so called "doctors" like mcgrath that promote methods that have not been 100% tested and verified yet as a new cure for a hair loss that definitely works. He charges 5000$ for 5 cc's and the whole procedure takes only about 20 min. Not a bad business model, huh?

How far out are you from treatment Seth?

I am going to be 2 months out in a few weeks and have gotten zero results as well.  I'll definitely post results.

No I’m continuing the finasteride. Taking every other day now. 

One time treatment. There are some impressive before and after photos. Far more impressive than I’ve seen with PRP. I was told most are seeing at least an 50% improvement in growth/density. A handful of patients have been non responsive.

Got the Exosomes injection done this week with Dr. McGrath.  He injected 10 cc's of exosomes over the entire scalp with micro needling.  Here are a couple of before pics.  I am going back in for a follow up in 2 months.

I hear you.  Thought same thing.  Blood work all looks good as of recently!

Could be unrelated to the finasteride. However there are definite reports of men losing muscle mass on Finasteride out there. Lost 15 pounds not changing anything in my routine. 

Going to Dr. McGrath in Austin for Exosomes treatment. No follow up treatment plan. Just one session with at least 5 cc’s of exosomes.  I’ll definitely share updates and pics for everyone.

Some great information on this forum.  Just curious if anyone has done the Exosomes therapy and not been on Finasteride.  I have been on it for almost a year.  It is working and stopping the hair loss.  However, I'm increasingly more concerned with the side effects that I've tried powering through.  Loss of Muscle mass, penis sensation and libido issues to name a few.  My current Doc would more or less roll eyes about finasteride side effects.  I'm planning on getting Exosomes injected in 3 weeks and would like to possibly DC finasteride.  Just hate to start losing ground and waste money on Exosomes.  Thanks guys!
