  1. Hello everyone, I've read that even the hair in the donor area can be affected by DHT and get miniaturized/thinner. I would like to know whether: 1) Taking finasteride would help thicken and improve the hair in the donor area 2) Let's assume that someone has had a hair transplant and the hair on the transplanted area (previously found on the donor area) is miniaturized due to the reason above. Is it logical to assume that finasteride would help thicken the transplanted hair on top?
  2. Thanks! How long have you been on finasteride and have you experienced any side effects? I'm mainly concerned about establishing a family and having children while being on it, so any relevant experiences would really help!
  3. Hello everyone, I was wondering whether anyone has experienced good results taking 0.5 mg of finasteride on MWF. Please let me know what you think!
  4. I'll be trying Proscar and cutting it into 1 mg tablets starting next week. Have you had any noticeable side effects over the years? I'm approaching 30 and concerned about the side effects, especially when it comes to having children etc. I know the rule of thumb is 1 mg everyday but I would also like to ask whether I can start with 0.5 mg every other day (MWF). Do you think this is effective? Or should I go for 1 mg every other day? I really appreciate the feedback.
  5. How long have you been on Finasteride? And have you experienced any side effects? If it's Proscar by Merck, do you suggest that I go for it instead of Propecia? The cost savings are significant. I was prescribed Finasteride prior to my first transplant but did not end up using it. I consulted with another clinic for my second procedure (via a video call as well as images of my hair) and they also said that I should start Finasteride. Is there anything else in specific I need to check before proceeding?
  6. Hello, I've been thinking about taking Finasteride for the past 6 years and I haven't had the guts to even try it due to the stories I've read, mainly about the irreversible side effects. I am currently looking to sit for a second hair transplant and willing to give Finasteride a try since I've lost a lot of hair (almost a NW6). Where I live, there's a local brand selling Finasteride in 5 mg tablets so I would have to cut it into 4-5 pieces. For those who have tried both or who have researched both, is there any difference in the efficacy between both forms of Finasteride? Thanks
  7. Does anyone have any experience or feedback with respect to the above?

  9. @Melvin-Moderator Convincing enough! I also kindly ask for your opinion on the Minoxidil part. @Niko1 I agree with you - price should not be the deciding factor. I'm looking to opt for the Comprehensive and Exclusive Package which is 120 Rs/graft and it is within my budget. However, if I want to go for the Premium Package, then there are a lot of other world-class doctors who are much closer to where I live and offer the same price. Going to India would be a long trip but I'm willing to do it for Eugenix as they are producing great results. Which package did you choose? Are you on any medications? And do you have any pictures of your donor with longer hair? Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated!
  10. @Melvin-Moderator Thanks for your feedback. I also wanted to know your opinion about manual vs. motorized FUE. Do you think it makes that much of a difference as to which method I choose? The reason why I mentioned HDC and HLC are because they do manual FUE. I would also like to know whether applying Minoxidil 5% to my transplanted hairline and midscalp does make a difference or does it do more harm than good? I currently only apply it to the crown. @Niko1 Hi Niko1, I think I am in the exact same situation as you are. I had the chance to look at your results and they are quite impressive! Which package did you choose? I think they now have slightly different packages. Can you detail who did what during your procedure? Second, I want to ask whether you are satisfied with your donor area - I believe it is a bit over-harvested. Did they mention that it would end up like that and were you okay with it? @Portugal25 Thank you for your feedback!
  11. Hey everyone, I'm looking to have a second hair transplant to fix my hairline and add density to it as well as the mid-scalp, both of which were tackled in my first procedure using 3400 grafts. If my donor allows it, I'll add some hair to the crown along with some body/beard grafts. I lost all my terminal hair and the result looks very thin now which is why I want to proceed with a second transplant. I'm a NW5 and will probably be a NW6 very soon. Which clinic do you mostly recommend for such a job? HDC, Eugenix (both recommended here), HLC Turkey or someone else? Please also mind the price - I'm willing to pay a maximum of 2.5 EUR/graft. I need a surgeon who is ethical and confident that he/she will achieve good results and will repair my case without over-harvesting the donor. I believe this will be the most important procedure of my journey. Thanks
