Hey Hairs looking great I must say. Great documented Journey thanks. Im booked in with Dr Demirsoy in 2 weeks time. Am really nervous. Do you have any words of wisdom? I am a little worried about him giving me a high hairline and also worried about density which are my main concerns. How is your progress coming along? Thanks
Hey mate, I don't visit the forum any more really so sorry for not replying before your surgery! Hope it all went well. Progress pics to follow

Looking solid mate! Plenty time left for it to thicken up some more

Hey mate, any updates?

6 MONTHS
Hey guys, it's been 6 months now so I thought I'd give an update. It's looking pretty good, however it's still thin when you look at the hairline. I'm sure this will improve over the next few months though. Here are two close up shots and a comparison photo to before the surgery under normal light

This looks really good! Your doctor did a great job. What’s interesting is that your new hairline is so subtly similar to your original native hairline that no one is ever going to think you’ve had anything done unless you throw a before and after picture in their face. The results from before are night and day, though.
Congrats! It’s only going to get better from here.
Thanks for the encouraging words! When I was discussing my hairline with the doctor I told him that I always had a high hairline and the main goal was just to fill in the temples. Before the transplant I used to wear my hair almost sideways like a mini combover so it doesn't actually look like that different of a hairline. It just looks better to the eye and allows me to wear more styles and not worry about the wind.
However you will see in a week with the high quality pics that it's still too thin on the left side, and there is also one big multigraft on the left side hairline that I think stands out. Maybe I will start pulling a couple of the hairs out of it with tweezers in hopes of them not growing back lol. But other than that I am very happy so far! I think I will be completely satisfied with the final result after a year 😁
Here is an example of my childhood hairline which shows how high it was to start

Worst case if it turns out to not be as dense as you like, you can have a touchup to add more density. It looks like the hairs that were transplanted are growing 😁

Hey mate, how's the progress looking? Did you have much change the last couple months?
-
No you don't need a caregiver. I had my operation in another country alone and just made sure the house was full of food when I got back so I didn't have to leave. Then after a week I was able to go outside with a cap

looking forward to seeing more pics on this one
I'll update each month 👍I'm growing my hair out now that there is at least some hair at the front to grow the same length. I put together a side by side with 3 months vs 4 months and it's made me feel much better about the progress!

Did he tell you what density the recipient was transplanted at?
No, he didn't give me that info

Are you taking finasteride and minoxil? I went to the same doc 4 Feb 2750 grafts and I use these both I’m really happy with the growth now on my 3 month mark on Monday.
FYI I also take B and D vitamin + fish oil in the morning.
Hey mate, yes I've been using fin since before the surgery but I only started minoxidil a couple of weeks ago. I only use minoxidil once per day before bed too

I think your donor area looks very good, especially for 5000 grafts. I don't think anybody would notice anything unless they were looking for it. But I agree, it seems like SMP is a good solution for donor scars

Amazing! Glad it worked out so well for you

You definitely need to see a dermatologist about that as soon as you can, I don't think it will go away on its own

3 MONTHS
Hey guys, just thought I'd do another update since another month has passed. I'm stuck indoors like most people so it's making the growing phase a little easier until the redness completely fades. There has been a small amount of growth but nothing really noticeable without the flash on a picture. Here is a photo with the flash and one that shows more what it looks like in real life

Here is a comparison pic at 9 months to before the op. This is the best I have for 9 months
and here are better photos of the current state, mostly taken when wet

I don't really expect to see any major improvements for this point forwards. I'm very happy with how it has turned out, although I can't wear my hair back because the left side has remained weak through the whole process.
I think in the future I will possibly get a 2nd procedure to patch up the weakness in the hairline. For now I can just wear my hair to the side and it looks fine
