Melvin is correct, as far as I'm aware.

Both doctors are equally well reputed and highly skilled in their work, and both use the same HT technique where grafts are extracted and implanted without minimal delay in order to ensure graft survival.

Regarding the lower availability of reviews for Dr Bansal, it may just be the case that Dr Sethi has simply had patients who are more vocal and keen to write about their hair restoration journeys and leave reviews... after all, not every single patient is willing to either share photos or write about the experience, even if the results turned out great.

    Possible

  2. I have read quite a few reviews about Eugenix on this platform and most them are about procedures done by Dr. Pradeep Sethi. People say that Dr. Arika Bansal is equally good. Is it really the case and it's just about technique they use or Dr. Pradeep is actually having an edge?

P.S.- This is only because I don't see much reviews about Dr. Bansal.

Any experiences or opinions about this please.

  3. Do forceps really affect the quality of grafts while implanting? Is it the case throughout? Should this be a criteria while selecting a doctor?

This topic came to my mind after reading Dr. Erdogan's this post

I will be glad if I could get clarity on this part as I am in the final stage of my decision making for HT.

Great question, no doubt both of them come highly recommended on the forum, I am the first one to admit that my opinion is bit biased, but also based on thorough research of at least 2 years. I went with Dr Arika and Dr. Pradeep.

I sent my pictures to many clinics including many recommended on this for and most of them rejected me outright given my advanced alopecia. Not reading between lines, but I was even told by one of the doctor's recommended here that I would not be happy if I get a HT!, it was also suggested to me by one in Texas (name withheld due to professional courtesy) that I start looking at hair weaving or some other toupe.

There were very few surgeons who were confident enough to take up my case, out of which I zeroed down to 3-4 of them, 1 from California who does a lot of BHT  and two from India (one of them was Dr. Pradeep, other one is recommended here but not from Chandigarh).

As I have mentioned in my initial post, I had to deal with some bad attitude from California doctor and was unimpressed by hairline design of some others, I eventually contacted quite a few patients of all of these clinics and jumped in to get mt HT with Eugenix.

I was treated very well and all of hair designing, hairline and 100% of punches/slits were done by doctors, some by Dr. Pradeep and some by Dr. Arika. Doctors also did lots of extraction.Implantation is the easy part and was done by technicians, directly under the supervision of doctors. Doctors are directly and passionately involved at all critical junctures of your HT. Most important aspect being hairline design and punches which requires laser precision, all done by Drs. Arika or Pradeep.

I want to say that I am happy and very happy after my HT, I am glad I did my own research, and did not listen to disappointing opinions of some learned doctors!!!. (myself being a physician, I knew the risk I was taking with my advanced alopecia by jumping into the HT).

Again as I said I did my HT at Eugenix, and I am very, very happy with the LIFE-CHANGING results and I am very truly blessed to have found the right HT surgeon at the right time. Though, I would still say do your thorough research and you will find the answer, search this forum for all the HT results of  doctors you are doing search on. You will find the answer, at the end you have to be comfortable with the decision you made. For HT is for lifetime!.

But, as far as I have read, Dr Pradeep and Dr. Arika don't do extractions?

I confirm that Dr Bhatti does all of the following

    - Counseling and hairline design
    - Trimming
    - Anesthesia
    - Harvesting the grafts from the donor area (extraction)
    - Slit making in the recipient area
    - Dressing

The placement of the grafts is completed by his longstanding skilled technicians.

    Thank you!

    Hi guys,

I am at the stage now where I have to make a decision and pick the right surgeon for my needs and nobody else can push me to the right direction better than you guys, so here we go!

After about a year of reading this and other forums, considering my budget, requirements and my gut feeling, I’m down to Dr.Demirsoy and Dr.Bhatti.

They both sit within my budget, both perform most of the surgery (harvesting and slit making), both are delivering good results and good feedbacks from patients can be found online.

     ·        Demirsoy Pro & Cons:

Great results, good density, helpful customer care/representative.

Very few results online, surprisingly not very popular, few average results.

    4000grafts quoted.

    ·         Bhatti pro & Cons:

Good constant results, highly ethical, I love his attitude, great clinic.

Density in most cases low to very low, no outstanding results online.

    3500grafts quoted.

Within my budget and requirements, I don’t see any other Dr. that can be considered.

    What do you guys think?

Few pics of my empty “head” here below LOL

Is it true that Dr. Bhatti does the whole extraction himself or are there some junior doctors or technicians involved?

@Shera could you clear this doubt?

    Hi Jhonny,

Dr Bhatti prescribes Finasteride for 6 months post surgery, most patients continue to use it beyond this period. Some continue to use it at a lower dosage and less frequency because it still appears to do its function in retaining existing hair and slowing down the natural balding process in native hairs.

Moving on, if the Doctor took all available grafts in one procedure (over harvesting) then visible scarring is more likely and there is the threat that damage to adjacent healthy grafts will occur. This is often overlooked.  With patients with limited donor it is paramount that each graft is given the best chance of survival. There is limited blood supply to the scalp and grafts placed too tightly together are also at more risk of dying out as they fight for nutrients to survive.

Also there is a lot made of density of hairlines when the real issue should perhaps be realistic expectations according to one’s unique balding pattern and family balding history. There is no one size fits all.

Therefore, as far as results and density of hairlines is concerned, every case needs to be planned differently.

A person with stable baldness and with Grade 3 pattern, can be afforded high densities of 65 FUs per sq cm which will be a pipe dream for a person with Grade 5 at 25 with evidence of low scalp and body hair donors.

When judging results for patients, it needs to be taken into account that all cases are different and to pick out a case with Grade 5 with lower density as compared with another with higher density is being unfair.

I personally feel Dr Bhatti has posted enough cases on this forum (and others) and on his youtube page (Darling Buds Clinic) for anyone to be comfortable with his results.

Most importantly, he is a proficient hair transplant surgeon, works in a safe facility he owns, his practice is transparent, he does not give unrealistic expectations to patients like so many clinics across the globe.

I talk to patients on most days whose lives have been transformed by Dr Bhatti. Every evening out in my home town in the UK it’s rare not to be greeted by at least one of Dr Bhattis’ happy patients.

Also, I have seen cases where guys from the UK have gone with cheap packages abroad and have told me they had 2000 or so grafts taken out where the reality when looking at their donor area is that they had double that. The reason being that the amateur clinics believe that the more they implant the more chance of a half decent result therefore no comebacks.

Thankfully Dr Bhatti does not operate that way.

Is 6 months of duration for Finastride is fine enough?
