  1. Hey & sorry for the late update.

I am not happy with HT density (it's 18 months now). i have talked to the clinic and scheduled for a second HT in the 7.9 (in 2 weeks).

    i'll keep you guys posted.

2 photos with the hair up - you can clearly see the poor density

2 photos with the hair down - which is ok and looks good.

    i'll keep you posted.

  2. thanks,

I think 3K+ grafts is a lot and should provide good cover.

the hairline (1 cm) was transplanted in more density than other areas.

I believe a lot of grafts did not survive. I know because the density in the hairline was the same throughout the hairline (1CM), but in the middle of the hairline, it is thinner than the sides of the hairline (see in the pics above). if all the grafts survived the density should be the same and even.

there also spots where the hair is thinner, that shouldn't happen, it should be even. it happens if some grafts did not survive in than specific area.

by the way, this how I normally go. when I comb it down the looks great and full, but i'm limited to that hair style:

  3. Hey everyone, 8.5 months

I'm really disapointed so far. Very low density. when i comb my hair up ( like the pics) everyone can see the sculp.

I have contacted the clinic about it. they are very nice, and only saying things will improve untill 18 months. i can't see any differnce between month 6 and now.

luckly I comb my hair down and that way it doesn't look sparse and thin.

I still hope thing will improves, but I know that from 8.5-12 the odds of that are low.
I believe I will need a second transplant, so that the density will be reasonable. Unfortunaly the clinic will regard my request only afer 18 months.

    :(

  4. time will tell... some pics looks better other worst because I tried to take different pics from different angles and lighting - that's why they look different.
If you have seen my previous updates I go regularly with the hair downwards, it looks great and full. but for assessment purposes and so you can see the hair transplant density - I comb it upwards (just for these pics)

  5. hello,

    7 months update

Sorry for not posting at 6 months, I have been busy...

Anyway, I'm not happy with the result. the density is poor. especially in the middle of the hairline. when I comb my hair up the hair is a total see-through. I have done 4.3K grafts in a relatively small area, so I would expect a better result.

at 7 months I should see at least 80% growth. if this is 80% - I'm not happy.

now for the pics, I tried to take different pics in different lighting (warm light, daylight, florecent, direct harsh light etc...):

  6. I  hope you are right. I have to say that i choose the "worst" pics with harsh lighting.

obviusely, the hairline got much more grafts then then the rest.

kristoff, I saw you were content with  the hairline but not with the density in the mid sculp. I have full hair in the middle so i hope i wont have that problem.

all i have left is to sit and wait.

  7. 5 months update:

I will post a comb up pics from now on because you can see the density better that way. comb down looks great, that's how I go out every day.

Density is not good generally, and I still can't style my hair in a comb up, it looks bad. especially when my native hair is dense so I can compare the native hair vs the transplanted hair.

In the middle of the hairline, the density is lower in comparison to sides of the hairline.

I really hope things will improve greatly because I am not happy with the result so far (I know I have 5 more months of growth but still, I'm a bit worried, since there was not a big difference from month 4 to 5)

  8. I'm a lawyer. I work in a law office. I'm pretty invaluable here, so I didn't ask for 4 months leave, I just told  my boss I take it as fact and done deal.

even though I knew he wouldn't take it easy, I knew he had no choice. I did work from home some of the time (week in a month). and used the time to travel the world (australia, thailand, japan, china).

I was honest, I told him that i'm gonna do HT, and I'm way too sensitive to get back before the hair grew back (I was wearing a hair piece - no one at work knew - so it was harder for me). he gave me a few examples of ppl who did a HT that got back after 2 weeks. but i kept saying everyone is different and I have my own mental scars :P

In israel long vacations are more acceptable i guess. And i was thinking about it for so long, that I was ready to quit my job if needed for those 4-5 months leave. I knew i wasn't able to see pepole like this.
All my friends say i'm exaggerating, but that's who I am - hair is a very big deal for me.

Everything worked out for the best - I got my 4 months leave, traveled the world, got around 60% sallery during the vacation - I couldn't ask for more :)

  9. I just saw, it is exactly the same good luck!

I think that from my 4 months pics you guys got the wrong impression. when the hair is down it's looks pretty good butwhen it is combed up it looks sick & very low density. here is a pic with a fluorescent light and a flash so you can see clearly the low density:

    • Thanks 2
  10. I also did my Ht at ashmed i'm 4 months. try to wear your hair down. the lack of density is less visible that way. If I wear my hair backwards it looks awful, but down it is pretty good.

like one wrote, it seems that not all the graft grew, may be it is something specific to your physiolgy or something the team did. let us know the clinic response to this.

  11. Thanks guys,

I'm a comb back kinda guy, so I'm waiting for more density, but, now that the ugly duckling phase is over the wait is not that hard like the past few months.
By the way, I got back to work at the beginning of the month and I got compliments from everyone! they say it looks much better than before (I had a hair piece in the front part only). it feels so good and liberating.

One thing that worries me - In the day of the HT I had a big pimple in the recipient area. now the area the pimple was is not growing well/at all, I'm afraid the hair transplanted there got infected from the pimple and died out, I hope I'm wrong and they just need more time to pop up because of the "rough terrain" the had. anyways it is small, so it's not that severe.

xadiohead - I'm sure you will get a good result as well, you have fair hair, thin hair, and light skin, so the growth is less visible. but I'm sure you'll end up with a good result. I have thick black hair on a fair skin so every hair has presence :)
  12. HI everyone,

It's been* almost 4 months (-2 days) - Update time!
The hair continues to grow and thicken. Yesterday I did my first hair cut, almost 1-2MM on the side and back. no trace of the hair transplant procedure: no redness, no scars, no shock loss (I have 2*scars there, but they are from*childhood). I'm very happy with the donor area state.

After the new hair cut, the native hair and the transplanted hair blend in better and more smoothly. The density is far from good, but for this stage (4 months) I'm happy, I have 7 more months of growth.

Now I'm limited to a certain hairstyle - comb downwards. I can't style it backward yet, due to lack of density - it's just doesn't look good yet. hopefully, in a few months, it will be possible.

When I look at my pics before the HT and now - I just can't believe it! a dream comes true. no other way to describe it.

    What do you guys think?
