I appreciate everyone’s comments on here. I still feel unsatisfied with my current hairline, but after hearing you all I’ll put a raincheck on it and wait 6 months or so before taking another look at it.

I might expressed myself wrongly. My issue isn’t with the results of the surgery, I’m fine with them (while hoping for more density in the months to come). What I want is to fill up my receding hairline, which was untouched in my first HT. I’m referring to the parts marked in red. How many graphs you think would be necessary?

A bit of background: I’m 33 and had my first HT 9 months ago. My problem was that my hair was very thin in the front and you could clearly see my scalp with a harsh light or when parting it. So the goal of the HT was to make that area a lot more dense. At that time, the doctor decided not to alter my hairline saying that it was the right kind of mature for my age, and being that wasn’t my main worry, I agreed and let him to what he wanted.

Now that the time has passed, I’m reasonably happy with the new density and thickness. And hopefully it still isn’t as full as it’ll be in 3 or 4 months. On the other side, I really regret not having corrected my receding hairline. As you can see in the photos, a “widow’s peak” is clearly present.

I’m seriously considering going through a 2nd HT in order to alter my hairline. I don’t want it to be fully “perfect” because it’d look fake then, but I’d prefer it less pronounced. 

How big would think (in terms of graphs) this would need to be? Those areas are small, but being at the front the density of hairs per cm2 needs to be very high.

The volume and density is amazing, Luke. 

Can I ask which products do you use for your hair, currently? I'm talking about shampoo, conditioner, maybe clay or fiber, some sort of thickening agent...

And what about clay vs pomade vs fiber vs cream... totally lost with so many choices. My hair is kinda short, and don’t want anything supersticky and shinny. Also being post-HT is still thin.

I had the HT at the end of last year, so it’s not recent. But I wonder if wearing pomade can be somehow not advisable. 

In case there’s no issue with wearing it, which type or brand do you recommend?

You just may need to apply them more often but in the long run, more safe to use.

And those would be safe to use in my case (7th month post-HT) ?

Thank's! I was worried that that would have been double-grafts or something like that. So the hairs from the donor area are thicker, I didn't know that.

I'd be curious from someone that has had HT for more than a year and currently buzzes his hair would post photos and see how it looks. 

What’s degree of caliber, please?

Appreciate the answer. I asked the doctor but haven't heard back yet. If anyone else can chime in, that would be great.

I get what you mean but you've got to remember that what we obsess about in the mirror, other people just aren't going to notice unless it is glaringly obvious. I can just about see the contrast you're talking about but I'd be surprised if anyone would pick up on it or think there's anything strange about it.

The only thing I can think is that perhaps you could cut the front even shorter as it looks like it may be slightly longer than the hair behind and could help balance things out.

Appreciate the help, but I don't want to tamper much with different lengths. I'll let it grow for now and try again for a buzzcut in a few months.

Tomorrow at midday I'll try to shoot a few more with sunlight.

Honestly, when I move and with natural light I see it very differently and jarringly, and not so much in these photos. But it also might be that I'm not objective.

Appreciate the answer, Luke. I admit that in the photos it looks more “samier” and “blended-in” that in real life. Was in the gym today and all I could see was my hair triangle of transplanted hair sticking out like a sore thumb.

Anyway, I wanted to try. Now I’ll let it grow.

That’s reassuring. When I look at it I only see much thicker and darker hairs in the front.

Right now I'm at the 7th month mark post hair transplant. I wonder if it's safe to use a lightening hair product like John Frieda, or if it can be risky in any way.

I bit the bullet and buzzed it down to guard number 2. From my perspective, it really shows that I had HT done as the transplant area seems to have a different texture and density. But it also could be my paranoia. Please be straight on your opinion. The hair will grow, so it’s not a tragedy if right now it doesn’t look good. I just wanna know if I can trust my eyes or not.

I don’t think the photo really captures it, but IMO all the contour line from the front looks much more thicker than the “inside” part.

It's gonna be summer and I love having it buzzed after getting out of the gym shower and not having to touch it. Also, right now it isn't fully grown yet (7 months, around 40%, then?) and I kinda want to wait for it be fuller and thicker before letting it grow longer.

How do you think mine looks now with natural light, by the way? It seems that the transplanted area is growing nice, but my crown and middle aren't as populated as I remembered.

I’m on the 7th month mark after my HT, so I finally can buzz my hair with clippers, but I’m worried that then my transplant might show. How do I think if it’ll look good before doing it?

It’s been 7 months since I had HT surgery. Up until now I’ve only trimmed my hair with scissors. But I wanna try buzzing it with scissors now that summer is coming. But I’m worried about the transplant area looking patchy with the hair so short. Am I being paranoid or is it likely to look different at this stage?

I'll dye only the sides then, it was just some stray greys. Thanks for the advice. I'm at the 5month mark post HT, by the way.
