It's highly selfish and biased of you to view this from a personal experience. Obviously this next procedure isn't going to consume 6k grafts, but if/when the forelock/middle goes its going to take ~3k+ to fill it and the middle front density will have to match the temples. Then he's at 6k+. What if his donor supply is 7k? 1k left to fill in the entire crown and possibly sides if hes an advanced NW?
If you had the grafts to get aggressive and design a dream hairline then that's awesome that you were a perfect candidate. Most people are not NW1 hairline HT candidates. It's not that people accept mediocrity either, it's that people with advanced hairloss have no choice but to accept it because there is literally no other option.
And your opinion is free of bias? Lighten up and stop predicting the worst case scenario. Alternatively he could add some more density and be happy with his results or is that implausible...

Probably because if he's losing his hair and using grafts on things like this he's doomed long term? What's he going to do down the line when he can't fill in the crown because he's got 6k grafts in his front/mid section?
The vast majority of people on here would consider that surgery a home run.
From personal experience this argument frustrates me.
He isn't going to use 6k, at most it will be 2500 plus another 1000 to improve it (if he goes for the 2nd operation).
People on these forums accept mediocrity as an acceptable outcome, maybe he wants better than mediocre!
I've heard all these arguments myself and from personal experience after 4 operations I'm glad I personally didn't listen to them as my hairline now is where I envisaged it!

Why is everyone knocking this man's confidence! I'm sure he knows his hair better than us. If he wants to get more density and improve his hairline let him! He didn't ask for self confidence advice, he asked for advice on his hairline. Everyone gets a hair transplant for superficial reasons unless I'm wrong?

Yes flight and accommodation I had to pay myself.
1500 seems a lot but its not, you've got plenty of donor hairs left so use them! And don't listen to people who tell you it's not possible to achieve a great result.. it is but like I said its a numbers game, the more grafts the better the result.

hi guys, update: i wrote the clinic i am not happy with the result and they said my revision got approved and i can come for free retouch. What do you think, should i go there or rather go to another clinic (options would be Pekiner, if Cinic would give me money back or Cosmedica, since there one person i know got a very good result last year)? If they said they approved my revision does this mean i have a right to money back if i dont accept operation offer?
What do you think, how many grafts will they take to repair this?I went back for a touch up of 1000 grafts with cinik in December (initial op was 1500 grafts).
I don't think they'll refund your money, they'll probably offer you a free 2nd op. I'd recommend taking it and asking for another 1500 grafts. Your hair is a lot thicker than mine so your 2nd op should give you the desired outcome!
Its a numbers game the more grafts the better the result (I've had 4 ops and finally happy).

Why did u go back to same clinic if you are not happy with the 1st result ?
It was free!
2nd operation was done to compensate for the lack of growth/density

To be honest the final results were not the best.
Dr Cinik agreed to another operation (after I applied a lot of pressure).. I'll open another thread but here are the results so far which look a lot better (months 3 post 1100 grafts front hairline and 500 grafts in the back)
I've also had my first SMP session for the sides and back 2 weeks ago.
Hairs looking a lot better now!

Do you have to pay full price for a second transplant?
I'm waiting to hear back from them, I really hope not! I wasn't satisfied with the results so they should perform the touch up for free!

Month 11 update
Not happy with the lack of response from Dr cinik I have messaged 2 months in a row and still waiting for a reply to my message
The front hairline still has gaps which should have been filled in (this is the 3rd operation and so far I've used 5000 grafts so don't expect any gaps) I made this very clear before the operation that density was must and I wouldnt be happy with a cover up.
The second picture shows no improvement in the corner despite us agreeing it needed to be brought in!
3rd picture- scalp is still pretty bald, I asked them to use more beard grafts but waa told 500 was enough.. clearly not.
I'd be more happy if they would message back and agree to touch up the areas which needed improvement but they seem to think its ok to ignore customers messages!

So I suggest you wait a little longer, maybe I think if a little more implanting is done for front hairline. Because of not too much density. You have to wait up to 1 year minimum.
Yes I understand, but disappointed because i made it clear during the consultation to dr cinik that i wanted density and was happy to use more donor hair (2500 rather than 1500). But i was told the result wouldnt look good if i used too many grafts!
I'll see how it progresses over the next few months.

I think it is not about your operation.
You blood circulation system is not enough for you or you have stressfull.
So you think the scalp will improve over the next few months and the hairline at the front?
I'm currently very disappointed with the results, even where I asked for the temporal to be improved theres no growth! And the front hairline hasnt improved much...
-
-
I had a similar hairline to yourself and had my first op in Oct 17.. I've currently added 5000 hairs to the front hairline (last op was with cinik in nov 19).. so I'd say your results are great considering you only used half the amount of grafts I've needed!
I would wait until 12 months and if youre not happy with the density go back to cinik for a touch up ... at most you may need another 500 grafts considering how thick your donor hair is..
I'm at the same stage as you (albeit with much thinner donor hair) and will probably ask for another 500 be added to the front hairline if things dont improve drastically in the next 4 months.

let us know how it goes. I've read smp fades quicker in scars. i cant even see any white dot scarring in your donor, just an even density decrease that most people wont even notice
Hi yes you're right there isnt any scarring, the SMP would help enhance the look on the sides and back (donor areas) which have had a density decrease.. also theres some slight balding (not significant) behind the temporals which happened after the 1st transplant, I think as a direct result from the shock of hair being implanted around that area...
Hopefully the SMP goes ahead in the next few weeks after lockdown so will post some pictures up here...
-
Wondering if anyone has used scalp micropigmentation on the donor area? After 3 operations and using 5000 grafts I'm planning to have all the sides and back covered using SMP.. should be effective as I usually keep the sides back at grade 0.5 or 1..

Looks thicker to me. How’s the scarring on back and sides?
Hi, for 5 months it's good progress yes. Theres still gaps at the back as you can see from the picture but aware the crown takes longer to fill out.
2nd picture shows the gap on the hairline which I still cant comb up (looks bald) but the hairs are coming through and I'm hoping once they get thicker it will give a much better look.
Top picture hair was combed down but the purpose of it was to show the side hair which was operated on.. I think it needs to be brought in more.
Donor area is ok but seeing as I've used 5000 grafts you can see dots, I'm thinking of having scalp micropigmentation done to cover and make the sides look thicker

Gotcha. What made you go with cinik this time?
A few reasons:
Dr ciniks results looked great
Unlimited grafts offer made it value for money- although this backfired since the estimate was 3000 grafts and I only ended up getting 2000 which worked out more expensive than Doganay
Wasnt entirely happy with Doganays first surgery
In hindsight......
Maybe I could have used a dr that does all the implants himself rather than his technicians for a better price elsewhere? Results will tell...

You've called my opinion biased and selfish and now imply I haven't learned anything from 4 hair transplants.. please do continue. Where did you get the 99% stat from?
I tell you what I've learned (if you're willing to listen and not just want to be told you're right)
- you don't have to settle for mediocrity if you pay enough and have enough grafts (and this patient clearly has an abundant supply looking at the pictures)
- 1 operation probably won't be enough, you'll need touch ups
- it's ok to not be happy with a result we are all superficial and want better (human nature)
- you can use beard grafts to cover the scalp so don't need to rely on side donor hair
- with the right treatment you can stop balding (minoxidil/finasteride/peppermint oil/rosemary oil etc) so don't always need to plan for worst case scenarios
