  1. I have similar problem with the difference, my occipital donor area is little bit higher. I would definitely recommend you to have two sessions FUE, rather than FUT. It looks like you have good potential donor area, but not wide. At 29 it is high probability that your alopecia is not stabilised yet. Maybe you will change hairstyle later, you don't need a scar. Consult your doctor anyway. With the first intervention you will probably give the advantage to your hairline area. In that session you will also use the most quality donor grafts you have. You can follow the result much better, the healing process will be quicker and you will preserve enough donor area follicles in case you need correction from any reason (partiality unsuccess or personal non satisfaction with the result). After a year, if everything is ok, you can plan the second intervention. You always have the possibility to eventually combine beard/body hair with the head hairs for crown/vertex. I personally don't recommend you to start with the finasteride in any case, inform yourself good about long term negative effects of that therapy, especially considering that you have 29 years and advanced alopecia (or regardless to alopecia, finasteride is not the solution at all). If you have results with minoxidil, it would be right choice for you to preserve sensitive hairs. Considering that you live in the US, I would recommend you ChicagoHairInstitute. If I live in the US, they would be my first choice without doubt.
  2. Hi guys, no one to help me with this... Ok, I know I am demanding, but I will try to explain. This would be my first HT, after many years of indecision. I plan to have max 2500-3000 grafts session (for my hairline and frontal part cc 100cm2), as I was sincerely and professionally advised few times, regarding the good healing process and max survival of the transplant. HQ PRP treatment has proven efficiency in the healing process and neo vascularisation, so I would prefer it as a part of the intervention. Harvested graft storage conditions and dissection is crucial for the success of the intervention, less shock of the grafts and successful regrow. If the doctor doesn't do the implementation, he will make the cuts on whole receiving area for the transplants, immediately. In that case its going to be much deeper (in purpose not to be sticky), and less personalised, regarding the implanted grafts position and number. This will also cause, longer healing process, more stress for the grafts and poorer outcome. I don't understand how some doctors recommend finasterid therapy for the successful HT. Transplanted grafts should be DHT insensitive, right? All the info I have are from few HT books for surgeons, I have read. Anyone could give me info where I come find the affordable clinic which has quality treatment?
  3. Apparently there's a way to preserve donor area hair follicles and to get same characteristics hair follicles in the recipient area, by longitudinal partial extraction of the follicles, leaving even scarless donor area, but I doubt any low budget surgeon use that method. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20388024
  4. Average hair density is around 80-100 hairs / cm2. Best cases have 130-160 hairs/cm2. You need to achieve at least 35-50 hairs in the receiving area for good cosmetic result. Check this in the medical literature, you will see it's correct. Than assess the situation and do the mathematics. Don't listen unreal promises from the clinics. Extracted follicles do not grow anymore. You can expect recovery up to 20% in the donor area after the intervention in the best case. My advise to you is to do up to 2500 graft transplants at once, you will secure better donor area recovery on that way, than plan the second intervention after a year. In that sense, it is better to decide which areas you will treat in the first intervention and live the other parts for the second. You will be in better position to follow the results on that way, and you will have enough hairs in the donor area for the second intervention or eventually correction form any reason. Extracting 5000 grafts at once can can live you without any donor potential. Healing process will be slower and chance for success lower. Also it is very difficult for you to know is it really 5000 grafts transplanted.
  5. Regarding the new transplanted grafts and donor / receiving are recovery I really believe (based on my education and info collected on HT), that the successful intervention depends: By surgeon/clinic side: 1. By the skill of the surgeon regardless the technique he use - not destroying hair follicles during the extraction fase and during the implantation fase 2. Careful and quality management of the extracted grafts prior the implementation 3. Professional relation and trust between the surgeon and the patient, disponibility after the surgery, advises in management of the eventual problems (such folliculitis...) By patients side: 1. Preparing for the intervention-stop smoking and drinking, stop with intensive fiscal activity at least 20 days before the surgery, be sure that blood biochemistry is in range and sim. 2. Responsible post intervention behaviour in sense of treating the treated area (carefully washing, avoiding any banding, hard lifting...) 3. Lifestyle change at least in the first few months after the intervention (alcaline diets, non smoking, gradually increasing but not intensive fiscal activity and similar stuff which provide better blood circulation generally...) 4. Optimistic behaviour generally Eventual additional treatment, as PRP applied on donor and receiving area to speed up the healing process or laser therapy after the procedure could be very helpful. All other stuff regarding the donor area quality, expectations, future HT plans are relative. There is no fisiologycal reason at the healthy person donor area not to accept transplanted not demaged and well manipulated graft. As a future patient, I know I will do my best to have successful treatment, it is in my best interest. Unfortunately, it is low number of clinics and doctors whose provide quality service with affordable price - up to 3€/graft
  6. Hi, I'm in process of choosing the hair clinic for my FUE hair transplantation... Can someone help me regarding the choice. After so many search and info collection, I wold prefer the clinic (anywhere in Europe), where: - the operation is fully performed by the doctor who represents the clinic using manual punch technique, not by assistants - there is an option for PRP treatment, possible with the clot activator - extracted grafts are kept in high quality medium (hypothermosol + ATP or more advanced), prior the transplantation in the receiving area - the doctor not recommend or not oblige me to use finasteride after the surgery - I can get some guarantee for the success of the intervention-realising note, and pay with the card or bank transfer, not cash in the hand of the doctor, without any document - the price range is between 2 - 3€/graft for 2000 - 2500 grafts session - I don't have to wait half year or more for the available date It would be the my first HT, I have very good potential of the donor area. Thanks
  7. Have you considered where you would go for the surgery? I search one month and can't decide.
  8. Hi, I'm new here, still can't open my post, so I will try to comment your.. Fin will not help you. It will only block the shedding for the time you use it, as soon as you stop, the sensitive follicles will feel of much quicker than normally. I was on Mino for 15 years, whit good response, however I stopped 5 months ago because I plan HT. I suggest you to stay on amino if you have good results..
