1. Well I stuck with it and me thinks my hair is getting better after the current pictures. I still think I might have T.E. due to the physical stress I suffered a month and a half ago. My hair is still growing in but it has become brittle and shiny all over with just being thin all over.
2. Well I see A LOT of vellus hairs popping up but the shed is still bad, my hair has become limp and thin all over (sides, back). I really hope I recover from this.
3. Well that's it guys, game over. Looks like this one survey for online dating dictates what all women in the world think of men who go bald.
4. A friend in one of my classes is diffuse NW3 buzzed with a no guard. Comparing him to me when his hair grows out, I easily have a full head of hair but he has the jawdropping girlfriend. It gives me hope for me when I get up higher on the NW scale and that the only person who is making a big deal out of it is you.
5. Okay I found on mayoclinic.com this, maybe it can explain it.
http://74.125.47.132/search?q=...&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
Less common Headache Incidence not known Cough Hair loss or thinning of hair Headache, severe and throbbing Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional. Either way, I think the sudden onset of acute pancreatitis, the 104 degree fever, and not being able to eat for three days along with the multiple antibiotics in the hospital would cause anyone to shed/thin out. Although, I figured it would happen a month or so after the hospital not after a few days.
6. How long did it take you to recover?(hair-wise and body-wise, I still get cramps occasionally) What meds were you on? I know I am coming across as pretty scared but to be honest, after making so much progress (imo) after such little time and just feel like it dissappeared after a couple of weeks, it is slightly frightening.
7. Well this might make since but I doubt it it's from wikipedia. Ciprofloxacin may interfere with the the levels of thyroid medications resulting in hypothyroidism.[77] But wouldn't the symptoms be dissappearing since I have been off it since Wednesday. Plus, I am not even on thyroid medication.
8. The only other thing I can think of is I was anti-biotics from the time I got home till this past Wednesday morning. I checked with my Doctor and online and ciprofloxacin does not interfer with finasteride. So I am just at a loss all I can figure is stress induced hairloss due to me freaking out while being in so much pain at the hospital.
9. Since no one would answer my other thread, I really need some help. Anyway the first eight months of Propecia I was looking to make a full recovery. As said in other thread I was in the hospital and was not to be able to take Propecia for four days. When I got home and starting taking it again, my hair just started thinning out so bad on the vertex/hairline/crown/sides and it just seems to be getting worse, I have lost a lot of gains just from getting back on it which will be three weeks this Wednesday. Can someone explain whether I am experiencing hyperandrogenicity? I notice my face has been a little more oily but no raging libido or increased body hair? This is just very frustrating for me because Propecia was really working for me and now it just seems like my hair continues to thin out day by day. Here is a picture of my hair wet at 6 1/2 months, it was only getting better from this point. Now this is last night with no flash! I just don't know what to do, my hair has no volume at all and I was thinking if things keep going the way they are, I might have to buzz my head. I was hoping by this time I would look good for my Sister's wedding and now I feel like I should pray it won't be a windy day outside. I mean it was helping me in the front and thickening up my hairline now my hairline and the hair beyond it is so thin. My hair feels like where it was after one or two months of Propecia. I can only think of three things that could cause this 1. hyperandrogenicity 2. Telogen Effluvium since I was in the hospital for acute pancreatitis 3. My hairloss is just progressing/getting aggressive. Please any opinions would be appreciated.
10. I think Dr. Beehner is right. I found this picture of him from the same time as well (mid-sixties. Here is his son (my uncle) as well at his final stage of loss, he didn't start losing though in till his 40's. This is from six months ago at 60 years old. I would say he closer to a VII as well. I guess if meds don't hold this off as long as I want, I guess I will do the yul brynner/Billy Corgan look. I mean I would like to do an HT if I stabilize with meds but at the same time, the thought of that is what I am possibly in for (or worse) scares me away from doing it. I rather have to take a zero guard to my head than do that and have to walk around with scar on the back of my head.
11. So I have been on Propecia for about nine months and before eight months I would say I was responding well. Then I had a shed around eight months that shed was fine. Then I had to go to the hospital for acute pancreatitis. I was on anti-biotics for two weeks. Since getting out of the hospital two weeks ago this past Wednesday my hair has thinned out progressively. I am only shedding thin hairs now but needless to say I am a bit worried. I have narrowed it down to four things: 1. TE caused by acute pancreatitis 2. My hair loss becoming more agressive (bummer if so) 3. hyperandrogenicity because I have noticed my face has become slightly more oily this week but I am not breaking out and my libido is normal 4. Just going through a heavy (unusual) nine month shed on Propecia. I hope it is 1. or 4. I have also noticed my scalp is a little sore in some areas, picking flakes off my scalp, and itching in some areas, luckily not that crown itch. It doesn't seem like nizoral 1% which I have used for years and Jason's tea tree shampoo is helping that much. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
12. I don't see what's so scary about it. If you try it and you get sides, then get off.
13. Another thread. Since being on Propecia for nine months my hair has been improving in such a short amount of time but I noticed when I had to go off it for four days due to being in the hospital for acute pancreatitis, my hair began to shed again. Right now I am in the middle of a shed, I asked the doctor if the medicine I take ciproflaxcin interfers with Propecia, he said no and I checked online and it said no too but I guess maybe going off it for that many days did this quick of damage? I am hoping it is a shed but I don't think so to be honest. Here is a picture of my hairline/temples from month 6 and one from last night 6 and a half months (Didn't realize till now how good my hairline/temples looked there) Now at 9 months it just seems like all this hair has dropped off or thinned out on my temples/hairline this past week. Crown looks almost recovered
14. Yes, like said I know it is not set in stone (I could take longer to reach his NW area or I could get their faster and be a NW7 although I can't find any in either side of my family). Still, I just hope the fin can halt this for a while. I am going to go on Rogaine foam soon anyway as I think that could really thicken things up.
15. To me I think he might be a NW6+ because his crown looks low but then again he had a big head.
