  1. Looks amazing bro! Hahaha we got similar design :) Koray loves the aggressive hairlines hey!

Man from Day 3 on wards, I had excruciating pain in my donor region to the point where i couldn't even bloody sleep... it lasted from day 3 to day 8. After day 8-12 it was bearable to the point where i could sleep without medication. After day 13 I felt no thorough pain. My best advice for you is to double drop pain killers before you go to sleep, because i found before bed time is when the pain was the worse.

That is exactly how it is with me. I haven't been sleeping at all because of it. I thought maybe I had something wrong with me but the more I research the more I find it does happen to allot of people. I am really hoping for a great result! I love the aggressive hairline! I hope the Fin kicks in and helps the process along.

  2. Yeah the first week is pretty stressful with the washings, after day 9 I felt comftable applying really firm pressure. And yes i started finding lots of hair falling out after day 5. What type of design did Koray end up giving you?

I'll post a couple pics. I am actually having nerve pain in the donor area. I have been up all night the last few nights because of the pain. Is this something that happened to you?

That's the link to my forum. It will have some pictures of the design. Here is one from today also.

  3. So how was your Experience..Are you happy so far??What meds, vitamins are they giving.is it for the rest of life or up to a year

Well it's tough to say how my result will be because I am only 2 days out. But the surgery went well, and i am happy with how they performed everything. I will be on Fin for at least a year to help thicken up my existing hair. He gave me a years worth of it. He doesn't require anything. No one can ever that say you absolutely have to do something. I think most people really need an education on hairloss. Finestride doesn't guarantee that you will not lose more hair. In most people it helps thicken your original hair and donor hair in the back. it's the patients choice whether they want to use it or not. It will help save your hair which why they recommend it.

  4. I've meet with Dr.Erdogan himself for consultation and I believe everything posted about him is exaggerated. Let me tell you what I've observed during all the meeting.

    1) He does not ask you what you expect or want. He simply begins the conversation with what he can do and want to do. It is like that your plan or request in mind does not matter to him.

    2) He is all about advertising. I mean, when I was waiting in the lounge I had these papers to fill up. First page is about your situation but second page is completely about "where did you hear of us" and there a lot of forums around the world listed on the paper. This forum is just one among the other over dozen forums.

    3) Take a real, I mean real, look at the Before/After photos. In before photos, hair is wet and combed under bright light in order to show the scalp beneath the hair. When you look at the photos, you think "Wow! My situation is really worse than I've thought." However, in the after photos, hairs are completely dry and bulky as if it's adjusted. Not wet, not combed to show scalp. So, it seems tricky to me. Photos are not taken under equal conditions.

    4) He is extremely picky. He cares about foreigner customers more than Turkish customers. In fact, his website is in almost every language except Turkish. You know, there are forums in Turkish for people in Turkey. They think of Dr. Erdogan ridiculously expensive. And most of them were turn down by the doctor himself with any kind of excuse. It is like there is a standard to be a patient of him.

    5) Many people have written about the pill issue. He would want you to take Finansterid, Minoxidil and etc. before the surgery and want you to use for regular long period after the surgery. He, then which is the issue, wants you to use the pills forever. So, 2 years after the surgery, if you decide to quit all pills and sprayings, you will face some consequences that you may not like. Basically, you are chained to pills or he doesn't accept your case.

These are only my opinions and observations about his work. I've read and viewed a lot of cases of him in my quest to find good doctor for myself. I think the best ones are in US. Turkey is not a hair-transplant paradise as much as you think. If you would have known Turkish and read the comments written by locals, then you would understand.

    I hope I've helped.

I just received my hair transplant 2 days ago with Dr.Koray of Asmed. Everything you mentioned was the exact opposite for me. He asked me my opinion, he takes both wet and dry pictures for you "Before Pics". He recommends to get on fin. One of his patients that did a does YouTube videos openly says that he is not on Fin and will not ever be. His YouTube name is Htfanboy if you want to look him up. And Dr.Koray still performed the procedure. I live in the Untied States. It costs $8-$14 per graft in the United States. Asmed charges 2.50 euro per graft. It's almost 1/4-1/3 of the price at Asmed. Overall I am very happy with my experience at Asmed. I'm just not sure how you gathered all of your information.

  5. 4000 Grafts with Asmed. Hello, the days have come and gone. My procedure was completed today. As all the other Asmed posts, I flew in and was picked up by the driver who was holding a sign with my name on it. He dropped me off at the hotel and told me he would be back the next morning at 7:00a. The next day I was brought into the Asmed Clinic. Initial pictures of me with hair were taken. I was sat down with Dr Koray and he took a look at my hair. I had just started finastried 2 weeks prior and he had said that allot of my hair on the top was miniaturized as well as some of my donor. But he did believe that in the coming months that proscar will fix that. He assessed my hair and said 4000 Grafts would be needed. I don't have the final numbers but I believe they settled on 2300 hairs in the front vertex and the remaining 1700 to go to my midscalp back towards the crown. I will find out the final numbers tomorrow. The majority of my hairloss is in the front, in the vertex area so I was very happy with that. He then drew on the hairline that he deemed would fit me best. After the talk we went over and shaved my head. Which I knew was coming but was a shock as this made it real haha. I would think flying 11 hours into a different country would have been the shock factor. But my head ended up not looking so bad shaved! After this they bring you back into the picture room to take more pics and Dr Koray puts a laser level on the lines he drew, to be sure your hairline is straight and even on either side in corolation with your facial features. After this I headed back to the hotel. Day 2, first day or surgery. I was picked up and brought back to the clinic at 7a. After a brief hangout session, we head straight into them shaving my head again and then to the transplant room. I was given the shots to numb the donor and the extractions began. Extractions took roughly 3-4hrs for 2300 Grafts. After that we took lunch and then back to the room for the incisions. The recipeint area was numbed, Dr Koray makes the incisions and the team inserts the graphs. We then do 10 min of laser therapy on the recipient area.. I was given some pain killers and taken back to the hotel. The hotel is great by the way. Very up to date. Day 3 was the same as day 2, with the exception of them washing the Grafts, but they took 1700 Grafts to fill the midscalp towards the crown. I am now back to the hotel and my procedure is complete. I'm scheduled to go in for a wash in the morning and then I'll head back to the airport for my flight home. Overall my experience has been very positive, Dr Koray and Dr Umed (anesthesiologist) have been great, friendly and professional. All the workers were very friendly and helpful.

  6. Hey, just chiming in with some support. I don't comment on many threads from forum users who visit ASMED, but I certainly read them all. Especially interested in fellow Americans who take this plunge, as the journey to and from seems the most daunting aspect of it all to me.

ASMED sure does check a lot of boxes for me though. Namely, an excellent track record at a price point I can stomach.

You're doing it, man!! All the best.

Thanks! Yes the flight was long and I couldnt really sleep. If I could do it again, I would have gotten 1st class seating so I could lay down. I am at the hotel now. The Asmed driver was very friendly and brought me straight to the hotel. I haven't had any issues yet. Tomorrow is when they will take a look at my hair and head and do the preliminary tests.

  7. Well the day has come for me to leave to Istanbul Turkey from The United States. It will be an 11hr flight so I'm hoping the seats are comfortable haha. I am a bit nervous but looking forward to 6 months from now when I start to see new growth. I will post before and after pics as the time goes on. This site has really helped me choose Asmed and be confident in that choice. Between 4000-4500 was my online quote, so I will find out when I'm there how many I will have done. Fingers crossed for a safe procedure!

  8. Asmed has had great results. You should contact them via there website. Send in the pictures you took along of the picture of your donor area to Asmeds website and they will give you a quote. It's 2.5euro per graft. Generally they do 3500 in the crown and then 2500 on the vertex if you're hair loss is far along. You may need two separate procedures. I believe Dr. Koray provides one of the best HTs available in the world in my opinion. He does quote high graph counts but his results speak for themselves. I am scheduled to go in for my HT in 7 days with Asmed. I live in Chicago and am taking an 11hr flight to Istanbul. To do the same procedure in The United States would cost me over $30,000. I am having roughly 4,000 graphs done. He has an anesthesiologist that works for him that has blonde hair and is similar in hair loss to you. His results are on the website.

  9. 13 Weeks Post Op

So I can see lots of new hairs but there are areas where I can't see any so hoping there is lots more to come. I'm trying to remain chilled about it all but it does play on your mind that it's not going to happen.

My crown has definitely improved as you can see from the photos below. I even went out for a meal at the weekend with just some aloe vera gel in my hair and I didn't feel too conscious.

I am getting times during the day where my heads feels really itchy and lots of little bumps / pimples appearing so I'm hoping things are still happening. Mine may be a little more sporadic I guess? We shall see.

Looks good! I leave for Asmed in less than 2 weeks. Getting nervous as can be. I notice all of your redness is gone. I hope I am one of those people who loses the redness in the first 10-14 days.

  10. What you on about? Most of his patients are Turkish and Italian. I had 2 surgeries with him. First time 2400 and second for 2490. People say he quotes high number. He has state of the art tools to assess the donor and the hair required to give an acceptable result. Plus I'm asian!

Yaz89 I have followed both your HT journeys and your result helped me choose Asmed. I'm scheduled to go in at the end of this month. I was quoted 4000-4500.

  11. Look the man in post above he had 2000 grafts and seams that he can comb the hair as he wants. And I have less thin hair than him and erdogan tell me 4000-4500 grafts....

Yes he does seem to have a great result. I don't know how harsh of lighting conditions the picture is but he does seem to be very happy with the results. If you have 4000 hairs transplanted into the crown area you should never need another transplant again. Asmed prepares you for further hair loss. Hair loss is going to happen whether we like it or not. Their is no magic pill to make it stop. Fin only works in some cases, and slows down in others. By having more grafts done, the likelihood of needing another is slim. And he does produce great results. He has hundreds if not a thousand testimonials on his website as well as this forum. His results speak for themselves.
