  1. Hey Dolph1969, Your are certainly right, have used toppik but find it is a bit of a hassel, especially with my love of swimming! I have decided to go for SMP as this seems to offer a very similar result to the old hair fibres! Possibly this month or next! Thanks for the feedback.
  2. Hey mattj, Appreciate your feedback, this is the conclusion I have come to as well. It is still a bit too thinned for my liking, but feel the risks outway the benefits!!
  3. I think you are right, I will pass on the hair transplant and count myself lucky that the one I had for my temples last year went well regarding results. As you say the risk of it going wrong is just too high! Thanks for the advice, it is most appreciated. I will stick with the Finasteride as I believe it has really helped in the 10 months I have been using it for! When I asked for advice again it was regarding Malikaiman post not yours. I am very new to this so if I messed up replying, apologies! Once again thanks for your help Djlazerblue!
  4. It has not really progressed much over the last ten years, and seems to have improved with the use of Finasteride over the last 10 months. Any advice??
  5. Hi Hairtransplant33, I had HT with Dr Yaman 10 months ago, he just drew the hairline and made the incisions. I would say he seems a lovely fellow, just a shame he did not speak any English. I also found it a little ironic that he had loads of ISHRS magazines there, which had so many articles saying how membership would not be allowed if so called 'hair techs' were performing the majority of work!!! The 'hair techs' were responsible for the extraction and placement of grafts. There was also a constant rotation of the techs which was annoying. However, having said all that my results are pretty good if not very good. I did not have any shedding at all and the grafts just seemed to grow from day one! My frustration was with the shock loss to the donor area which took over 5 months to possibly recover. I say possibly, as I grew my hair to cover what were small bald patches and have been too scared to cut my hair any shorter than grade 6 on the side and back, although I think it has recovered now. My hair actually looked very good at the 4-month stage! No idea how this forum works, I posted for the first time yesterday with photos of my crown and was hoping for a plethora of responses and advice but have only had 1 so far!!! I started taking Finasteride and have been on it for 10 months and this seems to really have helped things out for me. Good luck buddy and give it some time. I will try and put some of the photos Dr Yaman took!
  6. I do not have a smart phone, just a very old Nokia!!! I am a bit of a Luddite. Sorry.
  7. If I went ahead with the HT, do you think there is a high risk of causing more damage due to there being a little bit too much hair? I cannot believe I am saying 'a little bit too much hair'. Yes, I have used Toppik (other brands available!) and it works fine. I am just a bit fed up with it!!! Do you think there would be any expediency in using Dutasteride/ Avodart instead or in combination with Finasteride? I am also thinking about SMP as it appears to work pretty well as a concealer?
  8. I am trying to get some feedback regarding my crown and whether is has thinned sufficiently to have a hair transplant? I undertook a hair transplant a year ago for my temples which went well, however, it was not doctor led as I was led to believe and was concerned by the continued rotation of so-called 'hair techs'. That said I cannot complain about the results. I did not have any shedding which seems a little atypical and the grafts just grew from day 1. I have filmed its progression but seem unable to upload it. I am currently in Turkey, and boy do they want your business! The crown is a little thin and I am concerned that perhaps more damage than good could be done as it is not a bald canvass per se. I have been offered 1000 grafts with the Choi implanter but do not want to end up losing more hair from ironically trying to thicken the crown area up! Any advice?? I have a potential visit to the clinic on the 7th of July but have not had to pay any money upfront. The doctor will be doing the extraction and placement and is an associate ISHRS member. Any advice is most welcome! I have been taking Finasteride for about 10 months and Minoxidil foam for around 5 years. In my opinion, the Finasteride has really helped in reducing any more heavy hair loss. I am 45 and started losing my hair when I was around 30 but due to the power of cognitive dissonance was in complete denial about it. To the point where I would look in the mirror and would clearly see hair loss and just say "that cannot be right, my hair is fine!!". Sorry for the poor quality of the photos!

  10. Hi, I had a hair transplant for the temple area a year ago and took video of it over 3-4 months but have not been able to upload it??? I am now currently in Turkey considering a transplant for the crown/whorl area but am concerned that it is not a bald enough canvas to work on, and as a consequence may end up doing more damage than good? I do have some photos rather than video but have yet to upload them. However, once I have worked that out I would appreciate any comments of whether to proceed or not. I have been offered 1000 grafts with the Choi implanter! I have managed to add a photo album but not sure how to add them to this post?? Any advice would be most welcome! Think I have got there! I am taking Finasteride and have been for around 10 months and have had several clinics say they could at 1000 grafts to the crown area but I wonder if some rounds of PRP would be a better option?
