Day 30 (1 month)
I think my original hair is growing back a bit slow and I definetly entered the ugly duckling stage. Lost 90-95% of the transplanted hair from day 16-30 and I still see a lot of redness (I have pretty fair skin). Numbness around the forelock is getting a bit better but still there.

hamburger,
Never in 4 decades have I ever seen such an astounding result where such an extremely high percent of the graft hair remained after the crusts were removed. This is definitely the exception and not the rule.
And my word, your scalp especially the recipient area looks very clean.
Please keep us in the loop as to how long the graft hair remains. Losing 10-20 hairs is such a small percent to the overall number of grafts that were done.
Very nice photo...thanks for providing it to us to view and wish you the very best as your procedure matures!....
Oh, thank you! I never thought it could be an exceptional result. I'll keep my fingers crossed:) Here is a link to my thread where i post some updates: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185229-3500-grafts-fue-dr-koray-erdogan-asmed-3rd-november-2016-a.html
After 18 days now I see some shedding so i might loose my transplanted hair in the next weeks. I knew it would happen
-
Day 18
I think the shedding starts now. I lost approx. 10% of the transplanted hairs in the last 1-2 days. Redness is still significant and the scalp is quite numb in the frontal area.
Donor is fine.
Taking 1,25mg Fin/day since 18 days. No sides until now.
-
Definetly Dr.Koray Erdogan (ASMED) should be considered. He is doing great work!
-
Maybe I got you wrong?
When I removed the crusts by day 8 I kept all the transplanted hair.
Now at day 13 I lost some 10-20 hair.
-
Most of the graft hair comes off when the crusts are removed but that's a good sign that the grafts went dormant and in another 3-4 months, the regrowth will begin to emerge above the scalp line...and definitely worth waiting for...
I did not loose a single hair when removing all the crusts
Good sign?
Bad sign?

Looking great, love the temples!
Thank you
70% of the scabs came off easily at day 7 and the rest was gone by day 8. I did rub gently after the washing procedure and it was no problem to get them off. No bleeding...
Until now i can't see any shedding but the donor area still hurts a bit.
-
Day 9 update
Since day 8 i'm completely scab free but i have some pain in my donor area. It started at day 4 and is getting a bit better now. Ibuprofen 400 and aloe vera gel helped a lot.
Recipient area is less red than the pictures show.
Shedding until now: 0

I flew (3hrs) home the day after surgery and in my opinion this was a good decision. The swellings kicked in on day 2 so i was home when it was worst.
A neck pillow ist really a good choice.
I did not wear a hat during the flight and sometimes people looked at me for a bit longer but anyway...
-
Day 6
I have a lot of little scabs but redness is vanishing slowly. Hope this keeps on.
As always the work looks super clean and refined , out of interest are you on meds ? Really look forward to watching this result developThanks.
The Doc recommended starting with Fin to improve my mid scalp and gave me a one year supply of Proscar (1,25mg/day). I read a lot about the side effects and was a bit concerned but anyway i'm on it since friday.

How long did your swellings last?
I'm at day 2 now and looking like Alvin from the Chipmunks. All the fluid went down on the side of my cheeks

my wife is with me and the best thing was her face expression when she saw me...
my coordinator is sema and she is really nice and friendly.

Ooh, exciting. Are you in Instanbul already?
In terms of the hairline, I met Dr Erdogan first in London in May 2016 and before he started marking up my head I believe I made it clear I wanted to lower my hairline and fill in my temples. It was pretty much the same when we agreed the the design before my surgery last month. Both times I let him decide on the shape, assuming he knew best. Obviously if you have a particular hair line/shape in mind, I am sure he'll be happy to discuss. Once he draws on what he thinks is an appropriate hairline, he does ask you if you are happy with it and will make tweaks based on your feedback.
I sometimes listened to music on my iPhone and I watched one movie (they have an iPad and it has quite a lot of movies on it, all sorts), but I found my attention a bit all over the place. For me I had some discomfort during the extraction and implantation (creating the incisions was easily the most pleasant part) but I think that’s because I didn’t speak up soon enough and ask for them to re-numb the area. I would start to feel some discomfort and suffer through until it got to painful, where as I really should have spoken up as soon as I felt anything and they would have used more local anaesthetic as they did as soon as I said anything.
thanks!
yes i arrived today. now i'm in the hotel with my head looking weird without any hair.

Hey JustJax,
my HT journey starts tomorrow...
Could you tell a bit more about the process of designing the hairline?
Did Dr.Erdogan propose one or was it a longer discussion?
I'm curious about that.
And during the HT did you watch a movie or is it better to listen to some music/ipod?
Thanks!
-
Looking great!
Thanks for keeping us updated.
-
One question: did you get any pain killers from ASMED for the nights after the surgery?
-
I'm curious about your progress and pictures and will keep an eye on your thread as i am @ASMED on Nov 3rd.
-
3 days / 2 nights. That will be one long day getting 3500 grafts and i want to be at home as quickly as possible. Also the situation in Turkey is not the best at the moment.
-
thanks!
Congrtats. When are you booked in for? I'm booked with Erdogan on 11th Oct.Most likely Nov. 3rd.
Depends on if my wife gets some days off.
-
Did it!
Just booked Dr.Erdogan.

Hey guys,
i'm just about to decide where to do my HT ( FUE, dense packing)
I pretty much nailed it down to two doctors in Turkey.
Dr.Erdogan (quoted 3500 grafts, manual punch) and Dr.Demirsoy (quoted 3200-3500 grafts, micromotor).
So it’s going to be a tough decision.
The results of Dr.Erdogan are great (hairline, density) and i have a good feeling with him.
I read about Dr.Demirsoy in am German forum and most of the people recommend him.
His results seem to be good but sometimes he is being criticized for a bit lower density and/or higher transection rate.
Yes, and there is the price…Erdogan 8,75k vs 4,6k Demirsoy.
My gut says erdogan but is he worth double the price of Demirsoy?
What do you think?
-
outstanding result here! I had never even heard of this doc but sent in my consult this morning, eager to hear what he has to say. If I may ask, what did he charge per graft, I can't seem to find that info anywhere.
2,75€ per graft.
all inc. (med./hotel/transfer)
-
Just got another quote:
Dr.Demirsoy (Turkey), 3000-3500 grafts at a very interesting price per graft (1,25€).
I read about some good experiences in a german forum. A member in this forum also posted something good this week.
Did anyone else have a HT at Dr.Demirsoy?

JustJax, you are 3 weeks ahead of me and i'm following your thread to see how I may look like in that time It's interesting to compare...
Chris39, I booked my HT in August and could choose from October/November. I would say waiting period is 2-3 month.
