My positive experience with finasteride
pucheject replied to wibbles180's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Are you also using rogaine ? -
I did it .......results , blah, not bad not great.........My crown very similar to yours, has to be repeated regularly........You need to do 3 sessions to get decent results which I did, they say it lasts two years but talked to many people who said it was gone after 6 months .......Im not a DR but since it is your immune system that expels this stuff from your body I can imagine how to continuously have it in your skin can take a toll on your immune system long term........Thats just a guess though. I am looking into Beard hair to crown to add some permanent density, that in my opinion makes the most sense, in my case anyways.

Does this strip scar look ok ?
pucheject replied to pucheject's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Thanks Gillenator, I will give it a few more months to see how it progresses. I have all ready contacted Dr Feller as he will be my choice If I decide to FUE into this........... -
Its been 7 months and one week. There are other areas of the scar that look better where more hair has grown through. Thanks in advance.

How many graphs required to fill in crown ?
pucheject replied to pucheject's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Thanks for the feedback guys......As you read this I have taken a decision to officially quit Fin. I have been on it for 5 months, side effects come and go but recently have been just awful. Im dont want to live like this. These reason I went for a surgery in the first place was so I would not have to take fin. My Dr convinced me to give it a try and see , which I did , and I have had enough. I assume and hope most of the gain in the crown was from Rogaine and Niz which I have been using vigorously and will be continuing with. If I go back to a real empty crown then I may consider some surgery down the road, who knows. -
How many graphs required to fill in crown ?
pucheject replied to pucheject's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
When I look at the pictures , maybe I am being paranoid but what if the meds stop working , or what if they had not worked at all and I choose to not perform another surgery? Would my head look very disproportional ? ( quite thick towards the front and shiny on the crown ? Or do many men have a head that looks that way ? I am new to this maybe I am overthinking it. Doc told me my result would be natural so Im pretty sure it will look ok. I have mixed feelings about FIN, not sure if I want to stay on it long term. I am sort off testing it out, I have noticed a few side effects. Thanks guys. -

How many graphs required to fill in crown ?
pucheject replied to pucheject's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
It was 1400 grafts in the front . I will provide the name of the surgeon a little later after my full result. I have relied on rogaine and fin on the crown and it is helping . Not sure if I want to do opt for another surgery . If I do I will visit a few surgeons and get some feedback . -
Fut question 1400 grafts
pucheject replied to pucheject's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Thanks guys , my Doc was able to transplant over 4000 hairs with 1400 grafts. I just wanted to check in and see what the average is. He was able to fill in quite a large area with only 1400 grafts, which I am quite happy with. Thanks for the feedback. -

Hi guys, So I underwent a first FUT procedure 7 months ago. The surgeon filled in the frontal part of my scalp. He does not seem to think filling in the crown is a great idea as he says my donor area is a little below average. Based on this picture , should I just leave the crown and try to control it with meds ? I have been using rogaine and fin for the last 6 months. If not , how many graphs would be required to fill the crown in ? Thanks for the feedback.

How many hairs are usually harvested from a strip surgery with this many grafts ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I believe a tricho closure was used. I went into this as a total rookie not even knowing what a tricho closure was at the time. I remember the nurse and doc telling me that they close the incision in a way that hair will grow through it. I will call on Monday and ask just to be sure. In the mean time, here are a few more close up pics of the problem areas.

Thanks........I think what we are seeing is hair that is missing above and below the scar ( incision line ) I thought this was a result of the procedure ( Shock loss , trauma etc ) Since the skin is pinched together, surgeon told me hair will grow right above and right below incision...........Im not looking as much for the drape effect as i am actual growth right next to scar. If I always wore my hair this length I assume the appearance would improve over time without the drape effect ?

Hi guys , first time poster. Had a strip surgery done about ten weeks ago. I am starting to see some nice growth starting on the top but suture line does not seem to have improved at all. The only way I have been sort of able to camouflage it is by letting my hear grow longish in the back. Today I was feeling a little brave and asked my barber for a number four guard in the back. When I saw how the back looked after the haircut I had a mini freakout. My doctor is a dermalogical surgeon who specializes in hair transplants. He came highly recommended and seems to have al the credentials. I called his office today to ask if what I was seeing was normal and the nurse assured me that it was. She explained to me that the suture line area takes at least 3 months until the hair starts to grow back. What is weird is when I go on youtube to check on other HT results the back suture area looks completely fine after one month in some cases on some individuals. I am really starting to feel insecure about this smiley face on the back of my head. I have included a picture. Thank you all.
