  1. Hey...that's me:)

Thanks again Dr.Vories, healing is going well today...not too much discomfort.

Also, for those looking at the pics, my hair was just washed when the 1yr photos were taken and it wasn't styled by anything other than me just running my fingers through it...in other words...they were an extremely honest representation of my results.

John, you might not remember, or perhaps it's just because my screen name isn't attached to those photos, but you and I have talked prior to my original operation. Thanks again for turning me into Dr. Vories.

  2. Thanks, I'm just approaching 9 months. I did not tell anyone that I had one, other than of course my wife. People have noticed that I let my hair grow out, but I think it has a lot to do with your normal day to day look. Also, most people are pretty naive in regards to hair, unlike us...who you could probably say obsess over it. I let my hair grow out in the past, and used concealer to pull off a short hair style, but most people don't know about concealer, or what to look for. Then, when I felt my hair was too far gone for concealer, I buzzed it super short, which then looks like a choice to most. After my HT I wore a hat, and still do, on most days...so no one really ever saw my head. When it grew out, and I would style my hair...people would just say..."I never see you without a hat"...or "didn't know you had hair"...and I'd just make a snappy remark and move on. Again...most people either just don't care, or are dumb in regards to hair.

If you look back at my early pics, everything up to 4 months was shaved with a 1/2 guard, and 4 months was with a 1. Being that they are still pics, you might be able to detect some thinning from fue...but I didn't see it IRL. My new pics were with a 3, and it gives me the "short sides" look I like. I could easily do a 1-2. In fact. I could buzz my head with a 1 all over and not see fue marks.

For now I think this is as short as I'd want it, as it helps to look more full and gives coverage to some spots that may still be a little thin.

If you are worse than I was I would think you'd want more than 4k...that is unless your hair is considerably thicker/coarser. I'm planning on going back for about 1500 more.

  3. A couple of notables:

The scarring was essentially invisible at 3 months and with a #1/2 guard...for those that are curious about being able to buzz their hair. The top was a #1

I feel like I had a burst of growth at around 3.5 months...and I have decided to let my hair grow starting now. The 4 month pics were probably at a #2 guard length...maybe a little shorter.

  4. Thanks again...depending on lighting and angle...you can still see some of the donor site puncture marks. They are still improving on a daily basis and I would think that after another week or two they will basically be invisible. Of course, that is me twisting and turning in the bathroom "trying" to see them...I doubt most people would be looking that hard at your head.

Yes I did get grafts in my crown, my 4000 grafts were split 2k in back, 2k in front. Here is a pic after the 1st day with the grafts implanted

  5. I just hit the 2 week post-op mark from my 4,000+ graft FUE with Dr. Vories.

Background info...I am 35 and I have been stable on the big three for the past 7+ years. I would say that I was a NW5.

I have to say that I am glad that I found Dr. Vories via this board, as I feel as though I had a great experience. He did the surgery over a 2 day period, with 2000+ grafts per day. Both he and his staff were EXTREMELY helpful and considerate, and they made the entire process as easy as one could have hoped for. The surgery itself was as close to completely painless as one could hope for...with the known exception of the initial shots (which I will say were not as bad as I was expecting after reading of some others' experiences). In fact it was so painless that I had a hard time even staying awake during the process...and when I was awake I was either extremely relaxed, or watching a movie. Again...if the actual surgery portion is what is giving you pause...DO IT...it was nothing. And in terms of cost...well I think he's tough to beat inside the U.S.

While I am going through a bit of the normal anxiety that we all read about, I knew exactly what to expect after reading up on these boards for the past few years, and I am doing my best to be patient and await what I expect to be awesome results.

Thanks to everyone that posted their experiences with Dr. Vories, it definitely helped me make up my mind to pull the trigger on this.

Ask any questions, good or bad, and I will be happy to answer.
