  1. Great experience all around, I was nervous as hell of course but the tech staff, Dr Ron Shaprio, Dr Josephitis and everyone else involved made it so much easier. They created one half of my hairline with strip and the other half with FUE. I"m extremely happy with the hairline they came up with as well and the work looks really clean as far as I can tell. I was relaxed the whole time watching movies and/or listening to music while they doctors and their staff did their thing. They took a ton of pics so maybe Janna sometime when she is online can show some of them. I'm back at home today now and feeling pretty good, the strip scar doesn't feel too bad and the recipient area honestly feels great, that saline spray really helped a lot. I believe they got roughly 2300 grafts, just wanted to share with everyone! I"m looking forward to the coming months to see the progress

  2. well I imagine one of the biggest cons would be having to keep it a secret for the rest of your life, you couldn't tell anyone. What if you find the love of your life and one drunken night after many years together you confess and she comes to terms with the fact she's been caressing your pubes and kissing you and touching the pubes....I don't think many women would stick around after finding that out and I don't know if a lot would be interested if you were up front about the pubes on your face. What if you have a little too much to drink one night and spill the beans to even your best buddy, he would be hard pressed to keep something like that totally secret. It would spread around like wildfire the moment a 3rd party found out.

I would go for scalp hair dude

  3. Not sure how many grafts you are getting, but surgeons won't knock you out because it's not good to "be under" for such an extended period of time for an optional surgery.

However many hair surgeons will give you Valium if you ask. Most people seem to get their surgery procedure anxieties under control with the Valium the hair transplant surgeon will give you.

I suffer from claustrophobic panic/anxiety and knew being in the chair for several hours would most likely trigger an attack. So I discussed it with my surgeon and he allowed me to control my anxiety via Xanax. I was in the surgery chair for like 10 hours and basically slept through or was major groggy through 90% of the day via my own RX for Xanax.

You should contact your hair transplant doctor now and explain your surgery day fears. I am sure this is not uncommon and the doctor will gladly offer you something to take that will calm your fears on the day of the surgery.

Ha I have the same thing! I don't care about them cutting me open, excessive bleeding etc but I am worried about being stuck in one spot for the whole time and panicing lol. Good ole anxiety but anyways the doctor called me and I talked to him about it, due to me having a ride to pick me up he said he can give me valium and coax me through the day

  4. It's kind of short notice for me and I only have a week of vacation. I bit the bullet about 10 minutes ago and went and talked to my boss, was upfront about everything. He seemed interested and offered to talk to HR with if it would help WITHOUT disclosing to them the actual reason. He checked his calendar and there is open space for the timeframe my schedule is tentatively scheduled for. Just really glad he was understanding and I'm looking forward to the next step whatever it may be.

  5. I met with Dr Ron Shapiro and Dr David Josephitis a few days ago, from what I understand they were given a grant to perform a study that will use FUT on side to create a hairline on my basically bald front third of my head, and FUE on the other side to compare and hopefully confirm there is basically no difference. I feel very comfortable going through with this being as Shapiro Medical is so highly regarded and Ron Shapiro is referred to as the hairline guru. Just wanted to let you guys know!
