  1. I tried a weave for about a year. It is basically a sowing technique and sown into your existing hair i.e at the side or horseshoe. From memory Tony Blackburn the DJ had one. Problem is you are literally "tied" to the piece. Mine came loose in Portugal and nothing I could do about it. Also the cost is high because you are wearing it 24/7 it doesn't last too long so you are still going bald ! Cost of 2 pieces/relacing balding piece/and cost of weaving every 4 weeks/plus Portugal experience meant I gave up after 1 year but it WAS the best looking hairpiece I ever wore, just financially draining.
  2. Has anyone had the old type plugs removed and been satisfied both asthetically and financially.
  3. Moss - yes I did have a consultation with Greg and a few others including Dr Rogers assistant. You probably don't know me but my situation was that I had a HT 30 years ago and like everybody else who had a HT at that time, spent next 30 years trying to hide it i.e (Elton John/Bruce Forsythe/Frank Sinatra/Russ Abbott etc etc). Fast forward to 2007 I saw a few docs about improving my situation but nobody could do anything - Rogers said I had 200 grafts so no go. Greg said a skin graft was only option - I happened to find Dr Feller on internet and to make a long story even longer I went ahead in 2007 and again last May. Dr Feller found over 2000 grafts whereas nobody in UK would touch me which is why I believe the best are overseas. No one would expect 2000 grafts to cover a norwood 7 so I'm not the ideal patient and on reflection Dr Feller took a chance at being scorned upon but it looks a hell of a lot better than it did when I first saw Dr Feller. I'm not knocking Greg - the guy is a well respected surgeon who saves lives for god's sake;it just seems that the UK is way behind in HT surgery .....imo.
  4. Moss - the doctor you mention knows me. He is a great guy and does great work in skin grafting etc but to find the best HT docs you have to cross the atlantic imo. UK docs may be among best surgeons in world for life saving ops but when it comes to cosmetic work imo you have to travel.I spent ??500 for 3 seperate consultations in London - cheaper to get a consult in USA ! I went to Dr Feller and Greg should remember because I went to his clinic to get my staples removed and he took some photos for me. Because the UK health system is based on the NHS, hair transplantation is years behind but don't expect any UK doctors to admit it - and it's not their fault - just the way it is. That's my penny worth - best of luck.
