  1. Hello.

Does Dr. Lupanzula 1) have a good reputation in general 2) have a good reputation regarding hairlines specifically and 3) have good results with FUT? On his website, there are only FUE cases shown as far as I can tell despite him offering both procedures.

    Thanks

Hi Trix, he's very highly regarded for FUE (I'd recommend him, and his hairlines are good), but I wouldn't go to him for FUT. Why? Just kinda feels like he "retired from the FUT game" on his website, and reiterated in the above post by Medikemos.

But his FUE results are top notch!

  2. Anyone know someone or anyone here who was a smoker and had a successful hair transplant ? I quit a month before my OP. 4 days after I had sheesa. 7 days later started having 3-5 cigs a day and then after two weeks continued with 5 cigs and then quit again. I have been going through some personal issues and I fell for the trap and I feel horrible. Are there high chances I've ruined the whole surgery? Would nothing grow ? One month post op I've had little shedding and I'm paranoid it's because of smoking and maybe the grafts are dead or something. Please share your experiences thank you

I smoked immediately after each HT, and continue to smoke. Filthy habit, and everytime I think about quitting, it reminds me of smoking and I light up. FML.

It had no impact on my HT #1, and I'm only 45 days post-op from HT #2. Both of my HTs are documented in this forum (links below, in my signature).

  3. Once your check clears and you have the surgery done; you are pretty much on your own! (At least that was the case for me). Adrift and abandoned floating helplessly in the middle of an ocean of despair.

Glad you put the paranthetic in, as this is absolutely untrue for many many of the top doctors routinely discussed on this forum.

And if it IS one of the trusted docs, perhaps it would be my skewed idea of a good result, or my unobtainable expections. Education prior to a HT is invaluable in this regard, my opinion only. Could be wrong.

  4. If this were my head, I'd look into FUT with one of the top docs. Why? Because that's quite a bit of hair loss for 30yo and you'll need to maximize your lifetime donor supply while at the same time safeguarding against any transection that could occur in the hands of the wrong FUE techs.

  5. No I dont take anything, side effects sound not the best.

If you're not willing to try propecia/finasteride, you should reconsider getting a HT. Just my opinion.

Most people experience little to no sides, and nearly every person in that tiny minority who do experience side effects, return to normal after stopping the medication
