  1. This male patient presented with moderate hairline recession and wished to have his hairline lowered slightly and for mild temple angle closure. Dr. Arocha and the team at Arocha hair restoration performed a hand held FUE procedure of 1024 grafts to accomplish the goals of the patient. This FUE hair transplant result is shown at one and a half years after the initial procedure.

  2. This patient came to see Dr. Arocha about his hairline recession because he felt that it was making him look older than he really was. Dr. Arocha had already prescribed Propecia a few years earlier and the overall quality of the patient's hair had improved and stabilized already. By the time the patient returned, he was a good candidate for hairline reconstruction.

Dr. Arocha and the staff transplanted 2500 grafts using FUSS (follicular unit strip surgery) on one procedure for the result you see here which represents 8 months of growth. The result will continue to improve for another 6 to 8 months in both improved additional density as well as improved hair texture.

As usual with Dr. Arocha, not a single hair was shaved to achieve this result.

  3. You have to wait for the redness to disappear and the skin to fully heal before you take any further action. It's a waiting game at this point. Once the redness disappears you can examine your options. Laser can help but it depends on the hair type as it doesn't work the same for all hair textures and colors. Electrolysis can work well but great care must be taken to not cause permanent scarring. Once it is healed and you are having growth keeping is shaved may be the safer overall option because you will have less chance of scarring.

  4. Hi everyone... so i have been taking minoxidil 5%, finasteride and Ketoconazole shampoo for about 4 years now. I have pretty much stopped losing my hair and have even had joking comments about how i look "less bald" (i was never bald but my hair was definitely thinning, and still is pretty thin tbh). anyways, i have only been taking minoxidil once daily for about 2-3 years now. I would really like to cut it out of my routine all together but am kinda scared as to what the result might be. What could I be risking if I cut it down to only 2- 3 days a week? would that even have any effect? I also read that minoxidil's best results are seen in the first year, does only have to do with hair regrowth? any advice would be appreciated

This is the challenge many hair loss sufferers do not realize in that once they begin a treatment they are locked into it for life. You have to continue with what has worked and any change to your routine can spell disaster, unless of course you don't mind allowing nature to resume it's course. No one wants to be a slave to such a routine but if you want to keep your hair you have to pay the price and continue with what has worked in the past.

  5. This patient was in his early twenties when he first came to see Dr. Arocha regarding his hairline recession and what appeared to be a visible forelock forming in the frontal region. The patient had been on Propecia with a noted stabilization already so he was inquiring about the next step, surgical intervention.

Dr. Arocha and the team transplanted 2000 grafts in one procedure and the result shared is three years later.

  6.

Thank you for your comment, HLS2015. No one said this situation was going to be solved with tricopigmentation, and the patient understood and accepted this reality. I think that it is safe to say the tricopigmentation helped immensely and what was an obvious looking scar in the past now is no longer quite so obvious. The patient sees his situation this way as well.

  7. This patient came to see Dr. Arocha about donor scar revision after he received a wide scar from an FUT procedure from another clinic. Dr. Arocha was not comfortable with a scar revision as the patient exhibited a tight donor scalp due to lower than average laxity. This means that the scalp was not loose enough to allow a large enough strip to be safely removed in order to revise the donor scar. FUE into the donor scar was considered but the patient decided that the tricopigmentation route was worth a try while he considered his options. FUE may still be attempted in the future so the two procedures can work together to enhance the overall result.

  8. We're very excited to announce that Arocha Hair Restoration is now a certified practitioner of tricopigmentation.

Dr. Arocha and his assistant traveled to Milan, Italy in April for the Beauty Medical intensive training course at the TriAC Tricopigmentation Academy. We're now a fully trained and authorized clinic offering the shaved look and fill in density adding procedures that tricopigmentation is famous for.

We would also like to present our first documented tricpigmentation case. This patient had extreme hairless bordering on the NW7 position on the hair loss scalp and he had received one failed FUT procedure several years prior. Arocha Hair was able to perform the shaved look procedure for the result you see here.

  9. Today we present a case of aggressive hair loss addressed with a conservative number of grafts.

This patient came to see Dr. Arocha about his NW5 hair loss that was fairly unique in that he had some characteristics of a NW7 where his right parietal hump had disappeared. With limited funds he asked Dr. Arocha for the best possible approach to give him the most improvement possible.

After considering the options Dr. Arocha and the patient agreed to move forward with a strip procedure where just over 2000 grafts were harvested. The result you see is five years after his procedure.

  10. We are happy to present another final result video and patient interview by Arocha Hair Restoration in Houston, Texas.

This patient came to see Dr. Arocha about his hairline recession. He had done a lot of research to find out which clinic was the best solution for his problem. The patient came to the conclusion that Dr. Arocha was the man to see so after he had his initial consultation he decided to pull the trigger.

The result shown represents 8 months of growth and even though it looks great at this point he still has some improvements to look forward to.

  11. Shampoo,

Thank you for your kind comments.

    Goodwally,

If you are local to our clinic we would be very happy to have you come in for a consultation. Dr. Arocha has only shaved a patient's recipient scalp twice in his career. Dr. Arocha prefers to have hair longer and he has become very adept at working in between native hairs. There are videos of him performing procedures while working between native hairs on Youtube. Just go to Youtube and search for "Arocha Hair Houston" and you'll see some of these surgical videos in the search results.

If you have any questions at all you can reach out to us anytime.

  12. 911fan, David-Moderator, Bald36, and Speegs:Thank you all for taking the time to view our patient results and commenting. Your kind words are very much appreciated.

    Speegs,

The donor was not very thick, but there was some budget. We are very happy with the nice framing, and results. He is able to use creative styling, that is what it is all about, we like to express ourselves through our hair style!

  13. Thanks 911fan and David-Moderator,

We appreciate you taking the time to view our results, and your kind comments. The patient indeed is feeling great again for the ability to express himself through his hair styling! We love the fact that he does not have to worry about his thinning hair, Dr Arocha appreciates the opportunity to express himself through his hair artwork. Everybody is a little happier! Have a great weekend!!

  14. This FUT case from Dr. Arocha demonstrates the fact that not all doctors need to shave the patient's scalp to achieve a good result. This patient came to see Dr. Arocha about his receding hairline. His temples had not only receded but he was also experiencing a diffused loss throughout the top of his scalp with his forelock having the strongest density of any region of the top of his scalp.

Dr. Arocha and the team at Arocha Hair Restoration in Houston, Tx transplanted 2991 follicular units in one procedure and administered PRP w/ACell to help with not only the initial recovery but to thicken the areas behind the graft placement.

Results are at 9 months post surgery with more improvements to come.

  15. There are no guarantees with FUT or with FUE. None. The first steps you should consider are to look at cases on the websites of these doctors and ask yourself if you see similar cases with similar graft estimates that they gave you and if those results are what you would consider to be desirable. Ask them to explain the differences between quotes that you've received. Any estimate you've been given should be explainable if required.

  16. The numbers you're reading about by doctors, and by forum members, are assuming bald scalp. You've already had surgery, assuming in the areas you're concerned with now, so increasing your existing density is a simple thing to do with a relatively small number of grafts. There is the point of diminishing returns to be aware of though. Once you get to the 50% mark of your original density you might see a reduced improvement that won't be as dramatic as your first two passes.
