  1. I had the same issue. After 3 weeks I felt confident that the grafts weren't going anywhere so every day I soaked my head in the bath/shower and scrubbed my scalp with a softish nail brush. Within a week all of the scabs were gone and I didn't lose a graft.
  2. Thanks for all the responses so far guys. I'm now 10 weeks / 2.5 months post transplant and whilst there is no visible growth yet (as expected) perhaps it's not too far off now. I appreciate that patience is key. The H&W early growth story is interesting. I wonder if those are isolated incidents. If not, what could H&W be doing differently to other surgeons to achieve early growth?
  3. Hello All, I had my first hair transplant (2750 grafts via strip) done by a reputable surgeon (Dr. Feller) 6 weeks ago. Progress is as expected i.e. I am now in those dark months of waiting for growth to commence. I am 100% clear that it will some months for the follicles to awake and for the new hair to emerge. However I would be interested in and would appreciate brief responses from those who have travelled this road already confirming, approxiamately, in their case when visible growth commenced. This will help me in planning some events in the months ahead. If this an often-asked question with answers elsewhere on the forum, I apologise for repeating it and by all means direct me elsewhere. With regards, Syd
  4. All the best for the healing and the growing out, Trigger50. You've certainly gone to one of the very top surgeons. I have a question however. I'm sure I read one or two posts from Dr. Feller previously where he stated how tiring it gets extracting and implanting more than 500 grafts by FUE in one session. Is this one of the biggest FUE sessions he has done and how did he manage it? Regards, Syd
  5. Hello All, I took the plunge and had HT No.1 via strip surgery with Dr. Feller in New York in early January 2010. Here's a little background. I'm from the UK, 45 and I would estimate, a Norwood 6 or 7 ??“ a pretty serious case. My hair loss commenced when I was c23. I was an early adopter of Minoxidil in the 1980s and then switched to Propecia when that became available. Whilst these treatments slowed the loss, by age 35 my hair was so thin on top that I effectively admitted defeat, gave up on the meds and buzzed down to a No.1 /No.2 so have had to be one of those shaven-headed guys for the last 10 years. I have always planned to do something about my baldness once proven techniques reached the market. About 3 years ago I first read about FIT/FUE techniques but decided to wait until there was a good volume of post-procedure stories on the web so that I could make an informed decision. Late in 2009 I decided I was ready to take the plunge. Web-based research quickly led to this forum, amongst others and I also concluded that it made most sense to travel to the U.S. for the procedure where it seemed to me, there was greater experience and expertise of high-quality HTs. I liked what I read about Dr. Feller and given that I'm familiar with New York and needed to go there anyway on business I decided to have the procedure done in early January 2010. Before doing so I spoke with Spex in the UK who quickly put me straight on a couple of things ??“ FUE alone was never going to work in my case, I would need a strip and that instead of dealing with the crown first (my original idea), implantation to the frontal area would have a greater impact. I had never previously thought through that the hairline is essential to define the face but having now had the procedure, can see that this makes total sense and is, I think, the key to taking a few years off your appearance. So, I flew to New York and had the procedure done in the second week of January. I won't write up the whole experience, except to say, it was very much in line with what others have reported. I found Dr. Feller to be highly professional, passionate about what he does, dedicated and hands-on. I would have no hesitation, on the basis of my HT experience, in recommending Dr. Feller. I will leave it to Spex or the Doc to post my pre and post-procedures photos if they wish and will then post updates from time to time to try and help others in the same way as you guys who have previously posted here have helped me. Cheers, UK Syd
