....I strategically began wearing a hat basically every time I was in a non formal setting for the last year or so so that it wouldn’t suddenly seem weird to friends and family now.

Reading through your thread after your 5.5 month pics of a gorgeous hairline and the above words from you made me nod my head.  The lengths we go to dealing with this crap, eh?  And honestly that isn't even a very extreme example; that's more like a basic mentality we adopt.  It's crazy what can become our new normal.

Well, the albatross has been lifted.  You're free now, dude.

  2. Another vote for 'wish I had started sooner'.

I've been on finasteride and minoxidil for 10 years now and my hair has more or less been frozen in time since I started.  I've been adding in dutasteride once a week for a year or so with no side effects.  The only side I ever got from finasteride was a noticeably quicker temperament for a while, as I guess my body was getting adjusted to a bit of a testosterone boost.

I wish I had never started the expense/hassle of minoxidil at all, but started finasteride a decade sooner.

  3. Totally valid question, imo.

For the longest time my "dream plan" was to get the standard 5k grafts that ASMED seemed to dole out to near everyone, then employing an expensive perfectionist like Dr. Konior to make my new cookie-cutter hairline look more soft and natural with his artistic touch.

Like many others, I'm currently gaga over Eugenix as they seem to excel in ALL areas while still being somewhat affordable to me.

Absolutely, They have a large team consisting of doctors, technicians, marketing, patient care consultants, videographers, etc. Their current clinic has 4 operating theaters plus a spare. Their new facility, currently under construction behind the old one, will have 9 operating theaters with plans to expand to 20! This is not a Mom-and-Pop operation. It's well coordinated. They also often work around the clock to accommodate international patients who are experiencing jet lag and so will schedule a surgery in the middle of the night. When I went to my pre-op meeting on Sunday around 8 pm, they had one of the operating rooms at least in full go mode. And it is a big family. You can see how the staff behave around Dr. Bansal and Dr. Sethi - they are like the parents to a large group of kids. And many of them are under 40.

  5. Used to enjoy his shows with my ex and also my mom.

Bought my first piece of nice cutlery (Global chef's knife) due to his recommendation years back. Was an excellent investment, as it's still going strong today.

And yea since it's a hair forum, the guy always had a dense mop. I think it looked even more impressive because of the grey/white.

  6. I am an Erdogan patient and I was pretty happy with my hairline until I read this thread :(

All jokes aside, these pictures are taken today, 10 months after my transplant. I am happy with the hairline, but would you guys categorize it as a standard unartistic hairline? What about singles in the hairline, does it look pluggy?

Should I be unhappy with it? I've only gotten positive feedback from everyone around me.

Give me your honest feedback :)

Your whole case looks good to me, hairline included. Excellent growth. That 9.5 month overhead pic especially caught my eye.

  7. Im kind of in the same boat, i started all three at once... but from what I read finasteride is the one that helps the most, so not sure if skipping minoxidil would do much or not. have they ever came out with a minoxidil pill?

There are minoxidil tablets called Loniten. I have no personal experience with them.

I shied away from looking much into Loniten when I read something about possibly needing to take a diuretic with it to prevent fluid retention. That might have been for someone on a much higher dose than generally used for hair loss though, I don't recall exactly.

  8. I'd LOVE to ditch the minoxidil, but since I started the big 3 at the same time (albeit about a decade too late) I don't know how much of a factor minox has played. Never much of any regrowth on big 3, but maintained for about 5.5 years now.

Just can't deal with the liquid anymore, it's a greasy ass ache to apply and seems to really irritate my scalp more than it used to. Even with the foam though, I still feel like I need to wash my head about every day.

Would be nice to wash hair in the morning, slather on some dermmatch and toppik, then skip a day washing to be able to enjoy my fraudulent full head of hair for a couple days with no extra hassles.
