  1. Hi thisguy,

(Not attempting to hijack this thread but just responding to your questions on BHT)

In our practice, we have observed the beard grafts growing at the same speed as the scalp hair. To make things better, it would be very hard to tell the beard hairs from the scalp after the transplanted hair has grown out.

Chest hairs can take a little longer to grow as compared to the scalp and beard hairs.

To demonstrate how the scalp hair and the beard hair "blends in" nicely, attaching some pictures of a Dr. Bhatti's 28 years old patient who had a low scalp donor and for whom 2000 scalp grafts and 600 beard grafts were used. The result is seen after 7 months.

For Patients with a scarce scalp donor, Dr. Bhatti likes to plant scalp hair within the first 1.5 cm along the hairline, mix scalp grafts with beard grafts in a laid down optimal ratio till the highest point of the head. For the crown area he encourages his Patients to accept a low density preferably with chest grafts or chest grafts with a sprinkling of scalp grafts. He never use beard hair for the crown area. It is only to be used for the mid-scalp and just behind the hairline.

I hope this helps clarify some of the questions on BHT.

    Best regards,

    California

@California, nice result by Dr. Bhatti, both patient and doctor must be very happy, however in my opinion you have successfully hijacked the thread!, u r very much employable as a hijacker.

    .....

    :D, just kidding.

  2. Dear Satinder

I completely get your concern that you're upset because of the lack of results of hair transplant from our clinic. But I would like to remind you that I shared this point with you last time when you underwent a surgery in 2012, sometimes for no known reason results are sub optimal. This is same point that David has also mentioned and we share this with all patients before surgery.

I want to assure that our whole team is very sensitive to existing patients, so must have been a miss as I was in Ludhiana for only 3 days in December.

I really apologize for inconvenience caused trying to contact me. You're welcome to write directly to me at drkapildua@akclinics.com to sort out your queries.

All the best for your future endeavors.

    Dr Kapil Dua

    Quick response doctor.

Happy that ur ready to sort this out, does this patient have limited donor supply though?.

  3. @abhijit8537 : Robotic transplants are NOT proven to give better results than non-robotic ones. You need to read through this forum and others and do more research before you jump in for a HT, not everything robotic is better.

There are plenty of good/excellent HT doctors in Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi and NCR region. And there are also some not so good one, so do your research with diligence. (you can pm me if you need further help researching any doctors), or just ask around the forum seniors.

    My 2 cents.

  4. Why is it that if i try to post something on the threads containing references to Dr. Feller and Dr. Doganay i see error message?. Previously I had messages saying the message will be approved after moderation?.

I was asking some simple questions about motive behind deleting and locking threads prematurely!!!.

Please let this forum be free flowing as long as there are no nudities/threats and irresponsible accusations of doctors....the posting by professor and paleocarp has exposed the dirty side of HT buisness...let all the people discuss freely, why are mods restricting access and posting privilages?

  5. Why is it that certain doctors names are screened out here?, specially if they have had good results? why?. Such a wonderful forum would be useful if all information is presented with clarity and without bias.

I have seen certain doctors names are starred out as if it is an expletive!!!. have seen this happen when I type certain doctors like (physician name removed by moderator) and doctor (physician name removed by moderator).

Why is it moderators and admins?

  6. There are lots of surgeons recommended on this website. Dr. Kapil Dua, (Delhi) Dr. Tejinder Bhatti (Chandighar), Dr. Radha Palakurti (Vizag) and Dr. Madhu (Hyd).

All above are good. Also if you do some research there are plenty other HT clinics in ND and NCR region who are also good but not yer endorsed here. May be others from ND region can chime in?.

  7. Thanks doc,

For me it is obviously cosmetic reason why I might go for one. Its been tiring even people staring at your bald head while talking to you instead of looking at your eyes, occasionally craking jokes at my expense..etc..etc.. (though at most times I take it sportively, it gets irritating at times)

Plus why not if it gives u good results and shapes up your confidence and lets u feel better about how you look.

I asked a number of consecutive wives and girlfriends (but not both) how having hair changed their relationship. A common theme seems to be that the man simply worries less about his hair and thus is more confident. AND it seems like a lot of women like to pull a man's hair. That was a surprise to me. I guess I'm getting old.

    The video is:

  8. thor86 - please see page 1 of this thread, everything is explained by SHALEc0 in detail about why he chose Dr. Bansal in reply to harin question. All the best to you. There are multiple clinics in New Delhi and u can choose any quality one mentioned by him. Looking at some posts, Dr. Bhatti is a good option as well but I have heard hat he does not usually take NW6 and 7 specially with poor donor supply. Both Bansal and Bhatti do BHT though.

  9. I should say that this is pretty amazing growth at 3 months time!. The work looks top class. I think once u hit 9-12 months time it will look fabulous!.

Only one thing the frontal density could have been better, but it looks way natural even at 3 months I suppose at 9-12 months you will have no one who would be able to recognize u ever had HT.

Good luck bro, you found the right doctor and she did fabulous job, all the best, happy growing.

  10. Agree with opinions above. Though there are cheaper options available both in Europe and India which can get you same results as other pricey operators. You do have thin donor areas particularly on sides. May be some grafts (1500-2500?) from the back can be used to restore frontal hairline and rest from beard or body (mainly chest) to restore your middle and crown?.

I am not an expert but I am just saying that you do have options available. Lots of Indian docs who do good BHT will probably charge 1-2$ per graft which is a good price, I dont know the price in Europe. Either way good luck buddy, keep us updated about your progress.

  11. Dear All,

I appreciate the point of view discussed here but I would like to insist what makes a brand big is its systems, practices, values & ethical conduct. When we buy clothes we never compromise but when it comes health we don’t follow same.

At AK Clinics, the person has the facility to meet the operating surgeon as they are not on call surgeons but work with AK Clinics. Further, all of them come through a very rigorous training & follow standard procedure to ensure best results. Even if the patient is situated far off, there is a facility for Online Video Call with the concerned doctor to ensure all doubts. Further if the cost was commensurate the infrastructure & location - there can not be any cost effective options available.

Further all renowned & experienced doctors in India charge almost same as Dr Kapil Dua, and if AK Clinics commits that Dr Kapil Dua will do surgery, only he will. Only challenge is that at AK Clinics, no matter what, unethical practices like unlimited grafts by FUE etc are not entertained even if the patient insists.

Actually, you make some very valid observations, I agree with you. But looks like SHASLEc0 has had very good results from his doctor!. I have seen some of Dr. Dua's work and am very impressed as well.
