Steroids are antinflammatory. It does not make sense that it will cause hair loss in anyway. It is actually used to treat alopecia aereta.

Some physicians prescribe PO steroids after surgery to reduce post procedueral inflammation and edema. There is a therotical risk of poor wound healing. But in your case 9 days out IMO dont see any possible source of harm. But would check with your physician.
