Woah, dual swirls in the crown. Interesting! Any reason you haven't hopped back on Min yet?

Doctor recommended to start with fin and some multivitamins. I can start Min on the non transplanted hair as of now and after 3 months on transplanted hair.
Although I am hoping, finasteride can do some magic and I don't have to go back on minoxidil. One less medication to worry about.

    Everything looks right on track.

I hope you are having Fin daily

Yeah, I am not skipping finasteride. I am mostly worried about my existing hair as of now. I am hoping it can go back to where it was before the transplant.

Have you started shedding ? How is the shed?

I think I lost more than 50% of my transplanted hair, that was expected but the wait is so frustrating.ย

    Bro,ย

Do you think Finasteride did help you gain some regrowth? If so, what was your dosage, and in which months you noticed changes??

I started on both finasteride and minoxidil simultaneously. It did significantly helped in strengthening of the existing hair and prevented further hair loss.
Kept my hair very short before starting on the medication, would be difficult to do side by side comparison but crown did improved.

Tropical minoxidil 5% and 1 mg finasteride both once daily a few hours before sleeping.

  3. Hey Everyone,

I have been contemplating the thought of getting my hair transplant done for the past few years but finally I took the plunge and got my hair transplant done at Eugenix Gurgaon on 4th of July. Designing and Slitting was performed by Dr Somesh, extraction and implantation was done by senior technicians under the guidance of Dr Somesh.

Total grafts transplanted were around 2500 and the whole surgery was hassle free. A slight pinch was observed during anesthesia, but post that I didn't feel a thing. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the staff kept inquiring about my well being during the whole process. I was not expecting the whole thing to go this smoothly but the team at Eugenix are very well trained at this.

A little background about me. I am 34 years old and have been suffering from hair loss for the past 13-14 years now. I used to keep my hair short, hoping that it would not go from bad to worse, but my hair kept on thinning. Based on the recommendation that I got from this forum, I started taking Finasteride & Minoxidil for the past 3 years and observed a significant improvement in my hair density and growth.

I felt I have reached maximum improvement through the meds and this is the right time to go ahead with transplant.

Also, I did a consultation with Dr Bhatti in 2020 by sharing the following pics and the recommendation that came from him was around 4700 grafts for both frontal and the crown area.

No, you haven't interpreted it wrong.

My advice to you was to go down the medical route and see if that works. You may end up with an improvement that you are so happy with that you may even shelve the idea of a hair transplant for the foreseeable future or you may opt to go for a smaller surgery if you areย  happy to take the meds long term to sustain any improvements.

The important thing is to distinguish between your natural state and your medically improved state.

If you was to go for surgery then Dr Bhatti would advise you to temporary stop the meds a few months prior to surgery so when the surgery comes he has a more naturally precise scalp to work on as explained in the video.

I hope that clarifies things for you.

Thank you for further clarifying things for me. The thought of not having to go for a surgeryย is wonderful one,ย never thought this could also be an option for me. I'll discuss all these points with Dr Bhatti and see what he thinks would be best for me.

How old are you? You have some great names, as both are well liked on the forum. While the world is on lockdown, take this time to set up virtual consultations with both clinics. They will be more than happy to answer your questions via skype or whatsapp, that would be the best option.ย

    Hi Melvin,
I am almost 32 now and yes I have already submitted consultation through the link to all the three Doctors.
Discussion is ongoing with Dr Bhatti over email, theย timeline I gave him is next 3-4 months for the hair transplant, to which he replied not to opt for any medications. He suggestedย I'll need around 3500 available scalp grafts and additionally, 1200 body grafts from beard and chest. Although I am not very comfortable with beard and chest graft but let's see how the discussion pans out.

I am yet to get a reply from Dr Arika Bansal and Dr Pradeep Sethi.

    Hi,

I would recommend in the region of 3500 grafts (maybe an additional 500 beard grafts) to rebuild your hairline at its current level and strengthen your frontal third. You could do with a scattering of maybe 1000 or so grafts to help with some coverage in your crown/vertex area.

You do have a lot of what appears to be minitiarising hairs on top of your scalp which could recover through the use of meds (Finasteride, Monoxidil, Nizoral). This is an option for you and then to wait 6-9 months growing your hair out a little more and then reassessing your options.

    Thank you for your reply.

Just a bit confused here, so are you saying that Iย can start on the meds now and see the result in 6-9 months and then decide on the extentย of transplant?

  6. I am planning for a hair transplant in next 3-4 months andย I am from India, so probably will opt for Dr Bhatti or Eugenix clinic.
I have been losing hairsย for more than 12 years now and not on any kind of medication. I keep my hairs very short but it did not helpย in slowing down the hair loss process.
Finally I have decided thatย this is the right time to get aย hair transplant.ย I have been following this forum for a while now and seeing the transformations ofย most of you guys have encouraged me to go for aย HT.

I took these pics yesterday, what do you guys think of my current condition and how much graft would Iย need to have a decent coverage?
