I was in Bangkok this last January. At my hotel I ran into a guy with a head bandage, he told me he was barely 24hrs post op.. He told me he almost missed his procedure because his funds did not arrive. He was walking around Bangkok with US10grand to pay for a mega session with DHT He invited me to his post op evaluation at DHT clinic. Arriving there we were received with the usual Thai smiles. He told receptionist I was there as OBSERVER. The receptionist came to me with the NEW Patient clipboard and told me to fill it out. The talking consult was to be about US30 bucks. I declined and she was perturbed. During the patients 24hr consult he had a shampoo, chief DHT MD came in for a few minutes for inspection, then patient was told to buy baby shampoo and use that for two weeks. Buying J&J baby shampoo in Bangkok was quite the search. I just thought....for a Ten grand procedure could the clinic throw in a 1 dollar bottle of shampoo. Personally, I don't want a mega session. That is much too tiring for the transplant team.

All surgeons want to protect themselves and their staff....so patients are tested for HIV, many clinics test for HBV (hep B). Surgeons are concerned about operative hemostasis (stopping the bleeding), uncontrolled high blood pressure could present bleed out challenges. Uncontrolled blood glucose, seen in diabetes, can encourage post operative skin infections. Surgeons want excellent outcomes as much as patients. Regarding preop hypertension, immediate evaluation by an Thai Internal Medicine MD who could prescribe meds with lowering effects seen within 72hrs.

The Limmer clinic is posting the Curriculum Vitae (resume) of Dr Bobby Limmer, the HT pioneer and Dr Krejci, their new Medical Director. I am a critical care RN for 25 yrs, and hair transplant (plugs in Costa Rica) patient, so allow me to point out some facts. After reading the CV posted for Dr Krejci, we learn she is an Adjunct Professor of Dermatology, which means she is in the CLINIC supervising, teaching, and insuring dermatology residents follow the clinical guidelines. This residency program requires their doctors to do skin surgery. Dr Bobby Limmer is also a Professor at the SAME facility UTHSC in San Antonio. Both dermatologists being at the same medical school, I am certain that Dr Limmer knew of Dr Krejci's skills before offering her the Medical Director's position. No doctor becomes a professor without substantial clinical skills gained through experience. Dr Limmer's successful practice is due to his pioneering transplant techniques and surgical team building .....because that's how baby hairs become thick hairs. Dr Limmer has confidence in Dr Krejci's experience, that's good enough for me. I've scheduled a consult with Dr Krejci, more news to follow.
